Chapter Twenty Nine

“I can’t get over how cute he is.” Malik smiles down at his son in his arms.

“He takes after you.” Marik says from his position next to his lover, his dark violet eyes looking down at Lyca’s round face.

“Good, I was afraid he would take after you.” The smaller boy giggles.

“Hey!” Marik gently reaches out to slap Malik’s upper arm.

“Don’t do that.” Malik pouts.

“How are you feeling today?”

“Sore. I liked it better yesterday when I was numb from the chest down.”

“Do you need some medicine?”

“No. Just bed rest. That’s what Jade says any way.” Malik yawns widely as he looks down at Lyca.

“Why don’t you sleep, kitsune. You didn’t get much last night.”

“Lyca needs to be feed though.”

“I’ll feed him.” Marik says.

“Are you sure?”

“Yes. I think I can manage feeding our son.” The large pale blonde rolls his eyes.

“Jade just brought in that bottle so use it. And don’t force him to eat it all, let him eat what he wants.”

“Kitsune, I know. I was here when she brought it in and I was here every time you’ve feed him since yesterday.”

“I just want to make sure our little one is taken care of.”

“He will be, now go to sleep.” Marik reaches down and gently lifts up his son from his hikari’s arms, grabbing the yellow bottle from the small table next to the bed and placing the nipple at Lyca’s lips, them small boy latching onto it and sucking.

“He is feeding again?” Yugi giggles as he enters the half of the room with beds lining the walls, walking over to stand by Malik’s bed.

“He is a hungry little guy.” Marik shrugs gently as he holds his son in one hand and a bottle in the other.

“Where are the others at?”

“The living room I think. They wanted to let Malik rest.” The larger pale blonde motions with his head to the sleeping hikari.

“Well, I’ll just go join them and leave you three alone.” Yugi smiles as he turns to leave the room.

“Kura, don’t start.” Ryou sighs as he head falls back to rest on the back of the burgundy sofa.

“I didn’t start anything. The Pharaoh did.” The white haired yami growls as he glares at the tri-colored yami in front of him.

“I did no such thing.” Yami growls back.

“Just shut up both of you.” Joey groans from his seat next to the white haired hikari, his hands rubbing his stomach gently.

“Don’t upset my koinu.” Seto says, his arm wrapping around Joey’s shoulders.

“Stay out of this, Priest.” Bakura steps closer to the other yami.

“Don’t even think of trying anything, Tomb Robber.” Yami fist clench at his sides.

“Both of you shut up and sit down.” Jade walks up next to the two, popping them both on the back of the head before flopping down in one of the navy chairs.

“Ouch!” Bakura rubs the back of his head as he looks over at the shorter girl.

“Thank you, Jade.” Ryou smiles.

“Don’t take her side, she just hit me.”

“If I wasn’t so comfortable I would have hit you.”

“Yami? What’s wrong?” Yugi waddles into the room, moving over to his yami who rubs the back of his head.

“Jade hit me.”

“What? Why did you do that?” Light purple eyes turn to look at the forest green haired girl.

“They were fighting and it was driving us crazy.”

“I was kinda looking forward to seeing them beat the hell out of each other.” Seto mumbles.

“What were you fighting about?” Yugi ask his lover.

“I…he…we…actually I can’t remember.”

“Typical.” The smaller hikari just shakes his head before sitting down in the last navy chair.

“Where were you at?” Joey asks.

“The bathroom. Then I went to check on Malik and Lyca.”

“How are they?” Ryou’s light brown eyes watch as his yami sits down next to him on the arm of the sofa.

“Fine. Malik is sleeping and Marik is feeding Lyca.”

“I never thought Malik would have his baby first. I thought for sure it would be Yugi.” The sandy blonde says.

“Why me?”

“Cause you’re little and your body can’t hold the exact weight for so long.”

“That is ridiculous.” Ryou shakes his head with a small smile.

“Who do you think will be next?” Yugi asks.

“Either you or Ryou. You guys look like you’re going to drop any day now.” Jade chuckles.

“What do I look like?” Joey asks.

“Never ask that questions, koinu.” Seto smirks.

“Shut up.” The sandy blonde hisses.

“You just look like you could go a little while longer.” The girl shrugs with a smile on her face. “Speaking of go, who wants to go with me to the store?”

“Why do you need to go to the store?” Yugi asks.

“Clothing store. We need to get Lyca some cloths to wear.”

“I’ll go with you.” Yami says.

“I’m too tired to move right now.” Yugi smiles.

“That goes for me too.” Ryou nods.

“And me and Seto.” Joey snuggles into his lover’s side.

“You’re speaking for me now?” The brunette asks.

“Yep. You’re too comfy to leave me alone.”

“B?” Jade asks, her bright blue eyes moving to look at the white haired yami.

“I’m staying here with my hikari.”

“So it’s just me and Spike then? Good, I want have to deal with any crazies, no offense B.”

Ryou giggles as he holds onto Bakura’s hand to stop him from getting up, his head leaning over onto the taller white haired boy’s side.

“Can I go?” A voice asks from the doorway of the room.

“Where have you been, Mokie?” Joey asks.

“Up in my room playing some games. So can I go shopping for Lyca some clothes?” Mokuba comes into the room to stand by Jade’s chair.

“You’ll have to ask your brother, Cutie.”

“Please, Seto?”

“I don’t know. You might get on their nerves.” Seto says.

“I won’t. I promise.”

“Come on, Ice Prince. Cutie here won’t give me or Spike any problems.” Jade says.

“You sure you can handle him?”

“Positive.”

“Alright just don’t give him any sugar.”

“Seto! I’m not a kid anymore.” Mokuba whines.

“You’ll always be a kid, Mokuba.” Seto sighs.

“I promise we won’t give Cutie any sugar. Come on you two, we need to get going so we can get back and get Lyca into some cloths instead of just a little blanket.” Jade quickly gets up.

“You be good and stay off your feet as much as possible.” Yami says as he leans down to kiss his lover on the cheek.

“I will.” Yugi smiles as he watches his lover leave with the others.

“Where are they going?” Marik asks as he comes into the room holding Lyca in a violet blanket against his chest.

“To get the little one some clothes.” Ryou says. “Let me hold him.”

Marik walks over to the white haired hikari, gently handing his newborn son over to him before moving over to sit in the chair Jade left empty, his dark violet eyes remaining on Lyca.

“Such a cute little thing.” Ryou coos down at the baby who blinks back up at him.

“Since Mokuba left, we need to talk to you guys.” Seto says. “His birthday is the fifteenth of this month.”

“We thought maybe you guys want to come over and we can order pizza and eat cake.” Joey adds.

“I’d like that.” Yugi smiles.

“How old is he anyway?” Ryou asks.

“He’ll be fourteen.” Seto sighs.

“Some friends of his are coming over in the morning so you guys should wait to come over around five or six unless you want to be surrounded by screaming teenagers for a couple hours.” Joey chuckles.

“I think we’ll wait.” Ryou smiles over at the sandy blonde.

“Good decision.”

“What should we get him? I mean he already has pretty much everything.” Yugi motions around the large room.

“Just get him a gift certificate some where with video games and he’ll love you for life.” Seto says.

“How many kids are coming over?”

“About fifteen.”

“Yikes. I feel sorry for you guys.” Ryou says as he gently rocks Lyca, smiling as a small hand escapes the blanket and curls up toward Bakura. “Look, Kura, Lyca wants you to hold him.”

“Don’t give him my son.” Marik quickly speaks up.

“Why not?” Bakura narrows his dark brown eyes over at the other yami.

“You’ll scare him.”

“If you didn’t scare him, then I doubt I will.”

“Just be careful with him, Kura. Make sure you hold his head.” Ryou instructs as he gently hands the baby up to his lover who does as he is told.

“I wish this was our kid…only a little cuter.”

“Hey!” The pale blonde growls.

“Don’t even start you two.” Yugi shakes his head as he slowly gets up from his seat.

“Where are you going, Yug?” Joey asks.

“To the bathroom and to check on Malik.”

“I’ll go with you. Uh, to check on Malik, you can go to the bathroom by yourself.” The sandy blonde smiles as he gets up with help from Seto.

“Don’t forget me.” Ryou slowly gets up, turning to look at his yami. “Do you want me to take Lyca?”

“Yeah.”

Bakura carefully hands the small baby over to his hikari before sliding down to sit on the sofa, crossing his ankles as he watches the younger boys leave the room.

“So now what do we do?”

“There’s my baby. I was wondering where he went to.” Malik smiles from his bed, his pale blonde hair laid out around him on the pillow.

“Marik brought him in the living room for a while.” Ryou says as he hands the baby over to Malik.

“Yami, Jade, and Mokuba went shopping for some baby clothes.” Joey groans as he sits down on the edge of the bed to the right Malik’s.

“That’s nice. I left the outfit Ryou got me at home.” The pale blonde pouts.

“Actually he might not be able to fit in it for a couple months. I’m not sure, we’ll have see when we get back home.” Ryou sits on the side of Malik’s bed, watching as the pale blonde hikari holds his now sleeping son.

“I don’t know, he might be able to fit in it now. He is kinda chubby.” Joey smiles.

“So what if he is chubby. He is still the cutest little baby in the whole world.” Malik sticks his tongue out at his sandy blonde friend.

“He can keep that title until our baby is born.”

“Not even.” Malik chuckles before wincing slightly.

“What’s wrong, Malik?” Yugi comes into the room, sitting down next to Joey.

“Sore.”

“Is it really painful?”

“Not really. I mean, it isn’t pleasant but I don’t feel like I’m going to die either. Its mainly just were they stitched me up, it feels like its going to rip open.”

“Okay, too much information.”

“Sorry, Yugi. But you asked.” Malik smiles.

“How did you know it was time for the baby?” Ryou asks.

“I just felt like he was wanting out and would do anything to get out. It was an uncomfortable, kinda painful, feeling in the bottom of my stomach every couple of minutes.”

“Jade called that contractions.” Joey speaks up.

“Whatever they were they hurt. And the medicine they give you burns for a minute before you get numb.”

“Is that why you screamed yesterday?” Yugi asks.

“Yep. They had to stick a needle in my lower back and insert the medicine.” Malik shivers slightly at the memory.

“Was it a lot of pain?”

“Kinda. Like a…big pressure in my lower back and then like I said a stinging sensation. But thankfully shortly after I went numb.”

“So you didn’t feel them cut you open and take Lyca out?” Joey asks.

“I felt it but it wasn’t painful. It was just pressure.” Malik shrugs. “I don’t know how to explain it.”

“What happened after Lyca was born?” Ryou smiles down at the sleeping baby.

“I heard him cry and Jade took him away to clean him up and make sure nothing was wrong. Then she brought him over to me while I was still tied down as let me see him. She even got a picture of me, Marik, and Lyca.”

“You were tied down?” Yugi raises an eyebrow.

“Yeah, they tied my arms down so that I would move around or anything. Jade untied them so I could hold Lyca while the doctors finished up with me.”

“Could you see what they were doing?” Joey rubs his belly gently.

“No, they put up this blue paper stuff between me and them so I couldn’t see anything just hear them. They almost had to kick Marik out when they cut me open.”

“What did he do?” Ryou chuckles.

“He wanted to kill the doctors for hurting me. Jade had to hit him over the head and tell him to behave or miss the birth of his child.”

“I love that girl.” Joey laughs.

“She certainly isn’t afraid of our yamis.” Ryou says.

“She doesn’t have to be afraid of Yami, just Bakura and Marik.” Yugi says with a smile.

“Did Marik go with her to shop for clothes?” Malik asks.

“No, we left him with Bakura and Seto in the living room.” The sandy blonde says.

“Was that a good idea?”

“I don’t know and right now I don’t care. I’m too tied to care. I couldn’t sleep last night for some reason.” Ryou sighs.

“I couldn’t either. I was so excited about the baby being here and thinking about when mine would come.” Yugi rubs his belly gently.

“Were the beds comfy?” Joey asks.

“Not as comfy as ours at home but nice.”

“Well, you guys can go back home tonight and come over in the morning but Malik has to stay here for at least a week.”

“Is your crib set up in your room, Malik?” Ryou asks quietly.

“Marik put it together but its just sitting in the corner. I need to put the mattress down in it. When are our mobiles coming?”

“Should be sometime this month, I think.”

“Toward the middle of the month.” Yugi nods.

“I’ll fix it up and get your room cleaned up before you all come home.” The white haired hikari says as he reaches out to run his pale fingers through Lyca’s dusting of pale blonde hair.

“Thanks, Ryou.”

“That was so fun.” Mokuba bounces into the mansion, a small bag in one of his small hands.

Yami enters behind him with several bags in his hands, his violet eyes watching the raven haired boy as he chuckles, moving aside for Jade to enter. The short girl closes the door behind herself, swinging a small bag over her shoulder as she moves further into the entranceway only to come face to face with taller brunette owner of the mansion.

“Hey, Ice Prince.”

“I told you no sugar for him.” He motions toward his little brother who stands next to him, an innocent look on his face.

“I didn’t give him any sugar.”

“Don’t lie to me.”

“Why do you think I gave him sugar?” Jade asks, her bright blue eyes staring up into deep blue.

“I can see the smear of ice cream on his shirt.” Seto reaches down, his finger pointing at a dark brown spot in the middle of Mokuba’s gray shirt.

“Ice cream has sugar in it?” Jade asks surprised, his eyes widening innocently.

Seto narrows his eyes at the shorter girl before looking over her shoulder at the tri-colored haired yami, who chuckles and looks away.

“What are you laughing at, Yami?”

“Nothing. Where is Yugi at?”

“Kitchen.” Seto’s ice blue eyes look down at his little brother. “What do you have?”

“That new game I’ve been wanting.” Mokuba fidgets with the straps of the bag.

“I told you not to buy anything so close to your birthday.”

“I know. But I really wanted it.”

“It was a birthday present from me anyway.” Jade speaks up. “So calm down, Ice Prince, Cutie did nothing wrong.”

“Fine. Did you guys eat anything?”

“Yes. We stopped by and got some burgers.” Jade nodded.

“Well, the others are eating now. Malik and Marik are with Lyca in the back room.”

“I’m going up stairs to play.” Mokuba calls as he runs up the stairs.

“Sorry I gave him sugar, Ice Prince. I don’t see why I couldn’t.” Jade shrugs.

“Because now he’ll be up all day jumping around and bugging the hell out of me.” Seto turns around, walking toward the kitchen, the other two following him.

“Well, he was a good kid while we were out so I didn’t see a problem in getting him some ice cream. I even ended up getting Yami some.” Jade smirks over her shoulder at the yami.

“You’re the one that insisted.” Yami says.

“How is Lyca doing?”

“Fine. Been sleeping most of the time you’ve been gone. He did wake up wanting to be feed an hour ago, I don’t know if he is back to sleep yet.” Seto slips through the large open door to the kitchen, moving over to wrap his arms around his sandy blonde lover who stands facing a counter.

“Hey, dragon.” Joey leans back into Seto’s arms as he continues to slice a banana.

“What are you doing, koinu?” Seto’s lips suck on his lover’s lightly tanned neck.

“Making a fruit salad, want to share?”

“Sure.”

“Yami! You’re back.” Yugi holds his arms up from his position at the round table, a sandwich on a plate in front of him.

“Hello, chibi ichi.” Yami leans down to kiss his lover on the lips. “You been okay since I’ve been gone?”

“Yep.”

“Did you buy the whole store?” Ryou asks from beside Yugi, his light brown eyes looking at all the bags in Yami’s hands.

“No, Jade just dragged us to about a dozen different stores.” Yami slides into the empty seat next to his lover, sitting down the bags beside him.

“I wanted Lyca to have some good clothes.” Jade shrugs, walking over pluck a chip off Bakura’s plate who sits next to Ryou.

“Hey! That’s mine.” Bakura growls.

“Don’t growl at me.” Jade pops the white haired yami on the back of the head before stealing another chip.

“What all did you get?” Ryou asks.

“Some cute little jumpers, some more caps, little booties. Stuff like that.” Stealing one more chip, Jade moves over to grab the bags from Yami’s side before walking toward the door. “I’m going to go show Malik what we got.”

“You not hungry?” Joey asks.

“We grabbed something while we were out.” Jade calls over her shoulder as she disappears.

“She gave Mokie some ice cream.” Seto whispers into his lover’s ear.

“Oh, no. We’re going to have to tie him down in bed tonight.” Joey chuckles.

“And she bought him that game he wanted.”

“The one you bought for his birthday?”

“Yes. I’ll have to exchange it and find something else.”

“How did she know he wanted it?” Joey turns his head, kissing Seto on the cheek before continuing cutting his fruit.

“Mokuba was going to buy it but after Jade found out his birthday was soon she bought it for him.” Yami speaks up.

“What are we going to do with that kid?” Joey sighs.

“I don’t know, possibly lock him in his room until his birthday.” Seto says as he pops a slice of banana into his mouth.
