The Viking Brothers
Chapter 31: Planning
Deep in the forest, Pegasus’s men made camp. They had to retreat after the defeat of Keith’s army. Only a few had escaped, only with his two men Sigal and Thorn. Now they had to lay low for awhile. Keith’s army was an increase for his, now it was cut in half! He was right back where he started. Now he had to form alliance with someone else. For the time being, he’ll stay in Keith’s castle, hopefully keep it for his own. There was no doubt that Yami will let Keith rot in jail, if he doesn’t decide to execute him.
“Master Pegasus, what is it you want to do now?” One of his men asked.
“We lay low for awhile. With our army alone, we cannot defeat Yami’s. We need to join with another force if we want to attack again.”
“That’ll be hard, considering the Bolverks are a well liked family.” Sigal said as he polished his sword.
“That’s true, but Keith was our only ally for this attack. He hates the family with a passion, thus giving him a proper motive.” Thorn said.
“We just have to look around some more. The Bolverk brothers couldn’t be THAT popular!”
Yami’s room:
Yugi clutched Annar to his chest as he waited for Yami to come to bed. He couldn’t remember the last time he was this scared. He couldn’t stop trembling as he huddled on the bed. Annar was sleeping soundly despite the horrible day and so was Beowulf. He only wished he could fall asleep so easily like those two.
The memory of the destruction of his village popped back in his head. Today brought back those terrifying memories back to him. Okay, so he was really scared back then too. Seeing all this blood, violence, and death surrounding him...well..he just couldn’t take it.
“Yugi?” Yugi squeaked at the sound of Yami’s voice. “Why are you hiding under the covers?” Yugi peeked out from under the covers and took in Yami’s appearance. He hadn’t changed since the fight. He was covered in dried blood and scratches. He still had his sword on his belt and an axe in his other hand. Both were covered in blood. Yugi whimpered and shied away from Yami. “What’s wrong, Yugi? You seem frightened.”
“Oh, I’m sorry Yami...just...shaken up a bit from today.” Yami laid the axe against the wall and took off his tunic top. Yugi looked at all the bruises that adorned his husband’s chest and frowned. Yami was all dirty, sweaty, and bloody: and it scared him. Maybe Malik gets turned on by Marik coming in the room all battered and bloodied, but not him. Yugi got out of bed to put Annar in his crib. “Yami?”
“Yes Yugi?”
“Um..could you...possibly, well, go get a bath? You’re all bloody.”
“I’ll have to wait until tomorrow, Yugi. It’s late now.” Yugi covered Annar up and turned to Yami.
“Please don’t think me rude, Yami, but...looking like you do now, well...it frightens me.” Yami blinked in surprise.
“You’re frightened of me?” Yugi nodded, looking away from him. “Yugi, there’s no need to be frightened. I’m still the same person you’ve come to love.”
“I do love you, Yami, with all my heart.” He turned back to face Yami with teary eyes. “But, I don’t like all the fighting you do...I get scared.” Yami sat down on the bed and toed his boots off. He then turned to Yugi and patted the spot next to him.
“Come herever.ver.” Yugi obeyed and sat down beside his husband. Yami took Yugi’s smaller hand in his and entwined their fingers. “Yugi, I don’t ever want you to feel frightened around me. I won’t lie, I do like to fight, but it’s the way of the Viking. I was raised this way and I can not undo it. For you, Yugi, I will try to control myself so you never have to know. I can’t change completely, Yugi, but that’s the best I can do for you.” Yugi smiled at Yami’s little speech of love and embraced him.
“Okay Yami, I can handle that!” Yami embraced him back and Yugi sighed in content. Yami didn’t seem like it at first glance, but he really was a great guy. “I don’t deserve you, Yami.” Yami chuckled.
“Why do you say that?”
“It’s true. I shouldn’t have said anything about being frightened of you. I would never had dreamed I’d end up in a big castle married to one of my country’s worst enemies. But, if it wasn’t for you, I’d still be living in that old, dirty hut. I’ve never been happier in my whole life than I have these past few years, and I have you to thank for that. I went from poor to rich so quickly!” Yami laughed full heartedly and crushed Yugi to his chest.
“You’re so cute, Yugi, that even I can’t resist!! Of course, since I have a reputation, any squealing I do over you is STRICTLY private!!” Yugi giggled.
“Okay Yami, I don’t want to spoil your image.” Yugi eeped as Yami suddenly tumbled back on the bed, bringing him along. He landed on top of Yugi, covering his body completely. “Yami-?”
“I need your comfort right now, Yugi. Those men touched what was mine and I need to reclaim it, but only if you’re up to it. The idea of anyone else touching you enrages me.” Yugi gazed at him for a long moment. His anguished eyes bore into him, searing Yami’nt ant and need there. Yugi raised his hands to Yami’s face, gently placing one on each cheek. Yami’s hard features softened so quickly as Yugi caressed his face lovingly. Yami’s arms slipped under Yugi’s and he pulled him close. Yugi felt Yami’s body suddenly tense. “No one took you, right? You’re not keeping anything from me, are you?” Yugi blinked in surprise, not expecting that question.
“Why would I keep anything from you, Yami?”
“To keep my anger in check, perhaps?” Yugi moved his hands to Yami’s back and started to caress the rough skin there with the same gentleness as he did his face.
“No Yami...no one took me. And if I were hiding it, do you think I would be this calm right now?” Yami lifted himself up on his forearms and stared down at Yugi. Yugi was so small and utterly defenseless that Yami would be content with dedicating his life to protecting him. If anyone so much as looked at Yugi in a way that displeased him, they’d meet with the end of his sword.
Yugi sparked such a protective, yet possessive emotion that Yami never thought he had. Yugi was his and his alone. Only HE could hear Yugi cry out in pleasure. Only HE could see those wide violet eyes clouded with passion. Only HE was allowed to taste the pleasures of Yugi’s body. This youth in his arms was by far the most precious possession he could own.
“Thank the gods you were spared.” Yami leaned down and kissed Yugi’s forehead. “Only I can have you.” Yugi nodded.
“I know, Yami. I’m am for you and only you.” Yami crushed his lips in a soul searing kiss, making Yugi moan lightly. Yami’s tongue forcefully entered his mouth, the slick muscle not even bothering to ask permission. The kiss was deep and hard, nothing like Yugi had ever felt before. Yami was usually so gentle when they kissed.
He gasped for air as Yami pulled his mouth away, only to latch it onto Yugi’s pale, slim neck. Yami couldn’t help but lay his full weight on Yugi, which made the smaller man whimper a bit. He had to feel Yugi against him in every way, even if it’s just to hold him. He suckled on the soft flesh offered to him and moaned as Yugi threaded his hands in his hair.
“Oh, Yami...” Yugi groaned slightly as Yami suddenly thrust against him. Yugi immediately spread his legs wider to allow Yami to lay comfortably between then. He gasped and flushed lightly as he felt Yami’s member harden against his. Pleasure traveled through his body as Yami moved against him a bit faster than before, but it wasn’t enough.
Yami sat up on his knees and undid his pants, expertly throwing them off and tossing them on the floor. Yugi did the same with his tunic top, adding it to Yami’s small clothing pile. Yami placed his lips to Yugi’s, kissing him gently this time.
Yugi sighed into the kiss and tangled his legs around Yami’s, pulling him closer. He suddenly remembered the man on top him earlier and he started to tremble. Yami was scaring him a bit and he wanted to stop what they were doing. But, Yami needed him right now, and he couldn’t find it in his heart to push him away. He had to remember that this was Yami and not his “almost” rapist. Yami was here to love and protect him, and Yugi had to return that favor. So he pushed the memory out of his mind and gave into the pleasure.
“I want you, Yami...” Yami groaned and looked down at him, staring into his lover’s beautiful eyes: eyes only for him.
“You don’t know what those words do to me, Yugi.” Yami pressed him back down into the mattress, his weight holding Yugi’s body immobile. His hands raked up and down Yugi’s thighs, gently lifting one over his shoulder. His lips seduced Yugi’s with ruthless hunger as he quickly slid three digits into Yugi’s tight opening. Yami preferred to kiss Yugi mercillessly at this part, knowing his little lover felt discomfort every time. This way, he could try and get Yugi’s mind off the slight pain and relish in the pleasure he was giving.
Yugi’s hands roamed all along Yami’s back and sides, tracing any scars his fingers happen to brush. Yami shuttered when Yugi touched his scars, but not in pain or disgust. Yugi seemed to find ways to heal them and the memories they caused, whether it was good or bad. Yugi noticed that Yami’s fingers were thrusting with urgency, which meant that Yami was trying to hold back for him. He figured Yami could be quite rough during love making like Malik always says about Marik. Yami was doing him a favor, and Yugi wanted to return it to him tenfold. Even if he’s hurt by the end, Yami got something that he wanted. He didn’t want Yami to focus only on him and his needs.
“Just take me, Yami.” Yugi said breathlessly as he broke the kiss. Yami’s fingers never paused in there probing.
“But, you’re not fully prepared yet, Yugi. I don’t want to hurt you.” Yuguirmuirmed around on the bed as Yami slid his fingers in further, tickling his prostate. Yugi gave a sharp cry and thrust himself back on Yami’s fingers.
“I don’t care, Yami! Just hurry!! I need you!” Yami nodded and slid his fingers out, quickly positioning himself to enter Yugi. Yugi clutched at the bed sheets, bracing himself for Yami’s entry. Yami entered him in one solid thrust, clamping his mouth down onto Yugi’s to silence his cry. It always upset Yami to hear his little one cry out at entry, so it was better for him if he couldn’t hear.
Yugi whimpered into Yami’s mouth, quickly relaxing his muscles to accommodate Yami’s size. He was actually proud of himself that he had learned that little trick. Yugi immediately began to slam his hips into Yami’s, repeatedly impaling himself on the thick member.
Yami was shocked by Yugi’s sudden burst of passion, but he wasn’t about to let it go to waste! His hands glided across the mattress to its end and gripped tight, slamming himself into Yugi. Yugi continued to writh on the bed, gasping and crying out over and over again. He clentched and unclenched his inner muscles just like Malik had said. Every time Yami pulled out of him, Yugi tried to pull him back in. Yami groaned loudly by his ear and sped his movements, mumbling words of love to Yugi.
“Yami...ah! Do it harder...!” Yami obeyed the breathless command and threw as much force into his thrusts as possible. Yugi t his his head back on the pillow as Yami kept hitting his magic spot with every other thrust. He lifted his hips upwards more and felt Yami slide even deeper than before, this time constantly striking his prostate.
To Yami, this moment was paradise. If he had to choose Yugi or Valhalla, he’d choose Yugi. No questions asked. Since they both worship different gods, Yugi would never be allowed to enter Valhalla. But Yami couldn’t bare the thought of being separated from Yugi, and if it meant giving up Valhalla for him, then so be it.
“I love you, Yugi!” He whispered into his love’s ear, giving a particularly rough thrust. Yugi cried out and clung to Yami as he always does when he’s near completion. Yami just wasn’t letting up, and it seemed like every thrust took his breath away. His stomach began to clench tightly and Yugi knew he wouldn’t last long at all.
“Yami...I’m gonna come!!”
“Come for me, my little Yugi.” Yugi arched his wit with a pleasured cry and came all over their abdomens. Yami followed a few seconds after, growling as he shot his load deep into Yugi body. Yami rolled onto his back, bringing Yugi along with him. Once again, Yugi lay on his husband’s chest, both panting heavily. Yugi swiped Yami’s bangs away from his face and laid a gentle kiss on his forehead. He loved to kiss Yami there.
“I love you so much, Yami.” He panted “Please...don’t ever leave me.”
“I can’t promise that, Yugi. My country will call again for war and I must go at that time. Fate is something we can not control, Yugi. Even the gods, yours and mine, decide our fate. I have to be honest with you, Yugi.” Yugi frowned as his bottom lip started to tremble, his eyes welling up with tears. Yami smiled reassuringly at him and stroked his cheek softly. “But, I’ll fight with all the power I have to return home to you. That is what I can promise you.” Yugi sniffed and nuzzled his head into the crook of Yami’s neck, cuddling up to his chest. “It’s been a long day for you, Yugi. Sleep now little one, I’m here to protect you from all harm.” He felt Yugi’s breathing slow into sleep and he couldn’t help but stroke the soft, puffy hair so much like his own. “What would I do without you, Yugi?”
Duke wondered around the halls of the castle, unable to sleep. It had to be a mixture of today and those smelly stables! He had to remember to ask Tristan WHY he didn’t ask for a proper room like a normal person! Only HE would sleep in a freakin’ stable attic!! There were still a few dead bodies littering the floor, but he tried to ignore them. If he was going to live here with Tristan and all these Vikings, this was a sight he had to get used to. He paused in his walk as a figure caught the corner of his eye.
The door to Seto’s room was open so Duke stopped in front of it. Seto sat beside his bed, sword still in hand. Duke saw that Jou and Mokuba were sound asleep in the bed already. Quietly, he knocked on the open door, startling Seto.
“I didn’t mean to frighten you.” Duke said in apolo. Se. Seto sighed and lowered his sword.
“It’s alright...what are you doing up so late?” Seto asked, staring at the blade of his sword. Duke entered the room and sat down in a nearby chair.
“I can’t sleep at all. The images of today keep flashing in my mind...not to mention the smell of the stables.” Seto chuckled.
“Where’s Tristan?”
“Asleep. I had to practically PRY his arms off of me!! Both him AND the horses smell!” Seto raised an amused eyebrow at him.
“You sure are mean to him.” Duke scoffed.
“I know he smells of hard work and labor, and I try to overlook it. But, it’s so hard when you’re right next to the person!” Seto just shook his head.
“Poor Tristan.” Duke looked over at Jou and Mokuba on the bed.
“How are they taking it?”
“Jou was raped, you know.” Duke gasped.
“No one told me, is he alright?” Seto nodded.
“He seems to be handling it well, but I can’t be sure. He might just be hiding his feelings from me so I don’t have to worry. Mokuba on the other hand came out just fine. When he found me, he had Annar and Beowulf with him, but he was safe. They all were.” Seto reached over and stroked his brother’s cheek. “They both mean so much to me that I can only thank the gods for their survival. Recently, my faith in the gods have been diminishing, but I think it’s coming back. Odin guided us to victory in this fight.”
“Why aren’t you asleep?” Duke asked
“Like you, I just can’t sleep. I’m worried about someone coming into my room and trying to do them harm. I want to be ready to protect them, should it come to that.” Seto bowed his head. “I couldn’t protect them today...”
“This was a disaster, Seto. There was nothing anyone could do, so don’t feel bad. You did what you could.”
“But it wasn’t enough.” He sighed. “Anyway, you should get back to bed. Tristan might get worried if he wakes up and you’re not there.”
“An earthquake couldn’t wake that guy up! Besides, I told you already, the events from today are keeping me awake. Can I stay here and keep you company? I could use some of it too.” Seto just nodded.
“Sure.”
The next morning, Yami called a meeting to discuss the events of the previous day. He only allowed his brothers, Seto, and Davin. Yugi wanted to join the meeting, but Yami wouldn’t let him. He didn’t want Yugi to get upset if they all started arguing or something. Yami figured it was best if their lovers didn’t know ALL the details about what’s going on, so he ordered them to stay in his room with Yugi. The five men gathered in the room and took a seat at the table, with Yami at the head. Yami noticed that everyone looked a bit sleep deprived, but that wasn’t an important matter at the moment.
“Seto,” Yami started “Did you record our loses?” Seto nodded and slid a single piece of paper over to Yami. Yami picked it up and started to look over it.
“As you can see, our loses were minor.” Seto stated. “Only five of our men and some of your grandfather’s pottery. We had more men wounded, but nothing fatal. Their loses were far more devastating than ours, even with the fact that we were ill-prepared for this sudden attack. We put up an excellent fight, Yami. Almost all of Keith’s men have been slain.” Yami placed the paper down in front of him.
“I trust that you have arranged for the removal of those slain? My castle is already swarming with flies and heavy with the thick smell of dead blood.”
“I’ve had men on it since late last night, Yami. The castle should be clean within a couple of days.” Yami nodded silently and turned his attention to Marik who was sitting at the opposite end of the table.
“Marik, what has been done about Keith? I assume you’ve already gone down to the dungeon to interrogate him?” Marik sneered and crossed his arms angrily.
“I didn’t get a chance too! That backstabbing fuck was still out cold when I got down there! He’s obviously guilty, Yami, so lets just kill him!”
“Calm down, Marik.” Yami said, holding up his hand. “I fully agree with you, but we should approach that matter last.” Marik slammed his fist on the table, startling the others.
“No, lets discuss minor matters first, then move on to more important ones. So, assuming no one has any objections,” He gave everyone the evil eye “Are there any suggestions for an execution?” Bakura was the first to speak up.
“I say we yank his intestines out, throw him in the middle of the market place, and let the stray dogs and cats go at him! It’s a nice slow torture process! He’ll have a couple of hours to live and suffer before he dies!” Bakura chuckled evilly at his own suggestion, a dark aurora glowing around him. Everyone ignored Bakura’s insane chuckling and turned back to Yami.
“Any other suggestions?” Yami asked, looking around the table. Marik started waving his hand around eagerly.
“Pick me! Pick me!!” Yami roll his eyes and sighed.
“Yes, Marik?”
“Lets tie ropes to each of his limbs and have some horses pull him apart!!” Everyone fell silent except for Bakura, who was still chuckling manically in his seat. Seto was the first to speak.
“Since this is going to cause controversy, how about we move on to more important matters. Keith’s not going anywhere anytime soon, so there’s no need to rush his punishment.” Yami nodded with a smile.
“Ah, the only voice of reason here.” Seto smirked.
“I know. Now, what can we do about Pegasus’s army? No doubt he will attack again when we least expect it.”
“But, we cut down his army by defeating Keith’s.” Bakura pointed out, but Seto shook his head.
“We can’t count on that, Bakura. It’s obvious Pegasus is the mastermind behind this, and Keith had the perfect motive to join forces with him. It shouldn’t be hard for Pegasus to ally with another force against us. We’re not exactly the most popular family around, as some tend to think.”
“How about Uncle Herrick?” Everyone turned to Davin, who had finally spoken something.
“Who?” Yami asked, not familiar with the name at all.
“Herrick Bolverk, or more known to outsides of the family as the “forgotten Bolverk”. He was adopted around the age of seven into the family by your grandfather. Not much is known about him, hence the title. That’s who I’ve been living with for quite some time now. He’s a very companionate man, Yami, who loved your father as a true brother. Those are the words from his mouth. I’m sure we can count on him to help us.”
“But, why haven’t we heard about him before?” Marik asked. “I haven’t heard anyone mention his name, not even father. You would think you’d hear his name at least once??” Davin crossed his arms and leaned back against the wall.
“I’m not sure about that, Marik. I’ve wondered that for quite some time now. When I asked him about it, he always made up an excuse. It’s obviously something secret.”
“Where does he live?” Yami asked, curious as to know more about this new “uncle”.
“South of here, close to the shore. It’s about a three days ride.” Yami turned to Seto.
“Whayouryour take on this?” Seto placed his elbows on the table and threaded his fingers.
“I think we should go with Davin’s plaHe tHe turned to Davin. “Can you guide us there?” Davin nodded. “Then I say we go with it, Yami. We have no other options.” Yami looked at his brothers.
“What are your opinions?” He asked them.
“I’m game.” Marik replied.
“Ditto.” Bakura followed after.
“Then it’s settled.” Yami said, standing up from his seat. “Seto, I would like you to stay here with Marik and Bakura, just in case we’re attacked again.” Marik and Bakura’s cheeks puffed out in anger.
“Why do we have to stay?!” They shouted in unison.
“If we do get attacked, you two are more needed here. You’re job is to defend the castle. Also, Seto, I want you to remain here in my absence. I need someone with a level head organizing and commanding. You are the only voice of reason here I can trust.” Seto smirked and nodded.
“I accept, Yami.”
“Yami,” Davin started “Who else are we going to take with us if not your brothers or advisor? We need someone else with knowledge of what’s going on.” Yami sat back down and crossed his arms, thinking.
“How about Duke?” Seto offered a name. “He lived among Pegasus and Keith for a bit and knew about the attack.” Yami gave a curt nod.
“It’s settled” Yami said “We’ll take Duke with us. Seto, have Tristan ready our best horses. We leave in two days, dismissed.” Everyone got up from their chairs silently, except Bakura who had stormed out of the room. Yami figured he was mad about beingt hot home, but there might have been more to it. He followed Bakura half way down the hall until he caught up with him. “Bakura, hold up!” Bakura stopped and turned to him.
“What is it?”
“Are you mad about not being able to come with us?” Bakura snorted and crossed his arms.
“Of course I am, I’m pissed off!!”
“Well, I’m sorry, Bakura, but my orders are for you to remain here. Also, I’ve been meaning to ask you, are you sure you’re alright? You seem to be taking your...well, you’re taking it very well. That’s surprising for a person to overlook something drastic like that.”
“I AM overlooking it. I think of it this way, there’s no sense in dwelling on it, since there’s nothing I can do about it. The only thing I can do is push it from my mind and focus on all the good things.” Yami just blinked his eyes, not sure if he should believe Bakura’s words. Bakura was very good at hiding his true feelings, that much Yami knew. Howeverkurakura was never one to care about things that happen to him, and just got on with his life. But, this was more than a normal y day day occurrence in Bakura’s life, so.... “Earth to Yami!!”
“What? Oh, sorry. *ahem* So, you sure you’re alright? I don’t want you to feel uncomfortable coming to talk to me if you need to.” Bakura shook his head.
“Nah, I’m fine. I’m off to drink and gamble, see ya later.” Bakura turned from him and continued down the hall.
“Later.”
