The Viking Brothers
Chapter 30: The Storm Breaks
Yami’s Room:
Malik struggled against the two men as they tore his cls aws away. Kicking and biting didn’t seem to be doing anything. He managed to free one of his arms and he fondled around the floor to find something to attack with. The men were to busy fondling his body to notice he had gotten his arm free. He could hear Yugruggruggled on the bed, and he KNEW Yugi couldn’t handle this! He had to do something!
His eyes widened as he felt the candle stick holder. Only his fingertips were touching it, and the men were making it hard to reach it. He felt his legs being pulled apart as one of the men plunged strait into him. Malik let out a scream of pain but the other man covered his mouth, preventing anymore. With the man’s quick paced thrusting, Malik was able to reach the candle stick. Summoning up all the strength he could muster, he hit the man covering his mouth square in the head. The blow busted the man’s skull and Malik quickly did the same to the one raping him.
The two warriors fell to the floor, both with large bleeding dents in their heads. Damn, that candle holder was heavy! Malik quickly jumped up and got to the bed. Thankfully, the man hadn’t entered Yugi yet. Malik swung the candle stick and gave the Viking a swift blow to the temple. The man rolled over to the other side of the bed and Malik gave him one more blow to the head for good measure. Yugi clung to him and started to sob.
“Thank you Malik!! Thank you so much!!” Malik looked back at the two men on the floor, they started to move again.
“Yugi, close your eyes for one second.” Yugi sniffed, looked up at him.
“Why?”
“Just do it! I’ll tell you when you can open them.” Yugi didn’t question again and he covered his eyes, still shaking with terror and sobs. Malik took the sword from one of the men’s belt sheaths and raised it high over his head. The sword was heavy, so he had to use both hands. “Die, you bastards!” He brought the sword down strait into the man’s heart, killing him instantly. Then he did the same to the other man. Last one was Yugi’s, and he made quick work of him too.
Malik dropped the sword, breathing deep. His hands were spotted with blood, and the sword was drenched in it. And Marik said he didn’t have the balls to kill a man! He went back and picked up his torn tunic top, slipping on what was left of it. Then he went back to Yugi.
“Come on, Yugi. I’ve gotta get you out of here!” Yugi whimpered, not taking his hands away from his eyes.
“All that struggling made my...my legs go numb, Malik. I don’t think I can walk...my wound hurts-!”
“Then I’ll just have to carry you! Get on my back!” Yugi whimpered and climbed onto Malik’s back, clutching his neck. He buried his face in Malik’s soft hair and started to cry again. Malik gripped Yugi’s legs and ran out of the room. He had to find a place to hide, or at least Marik, or one of the brothers. Yugi buried his face in his neck, his body shaking with sobs. The poor guy was scared, and M did didn’t blame him. Yugi never really saw or knew rape, not like he and Ryou did anyway. They were always careful about Yugi knowing ANYTHING about that. He must have figured what the man was going to do because he said only Yami was allowed to do that. Now they can’t hide it from him.
Malik dodged a few fighting warriors, hoping to God he would see one of the Bolverk brothers, or at least SOMEONE who would protect them. His prayers were answered when he spotted Davin far off to the right, having just slain an enemy. Malik ran over to him.
“Davin!!” Davin looked over to see Malik and Yugi running towards him.
“Malik?! What happened?!” Malik hid behind him.
“We were all attacked in Yami’s room! Yugi and I escaped! Please protect us?!”
“No problem! Just stay behind me!”
Seto ran through the hallways, a bad feeling gnawing at his stomach. The sudden thought of Jou in trouble gave him a terrible ache in his heart. He could have sworn he heard Jou calling for him. The image of the golden puppy being ravaged by wolves kept plaguing his mind. How he hoped his vision was wrong. He was getting closer to Yami’s room where he hoped to find the door still bolted shut and everyone safely inside.
As he turned a corner, the sight that greeted him made his blood run cold. He froze in place, unable to tear his eyes away from the sight. His vision was right!! Jou was being held down and taken roughly by a warrior in the center of the hallway. Jou’s screams and pleas snapped Seto out of his shock. His vision turned red and he growled low in his throat. With a battle cry, he ran over to the rapist and stuck his sword through the man’s neck. Seto kicked the man off of Jou and fell beside him.
“JOU!! JOU, IT’S ME!”
“Seto...?” Jou’s voice was hoarse, probably from all the screaming. Seto pulled his lover to him, holding him tight. A few tears slipped from his eyes, relieved that his puppy wasn’t dead. “I couldn’t stop them, Seto...I couldn’t-“
”Shh, don’t worry. I understand.” He didn’t have time to look over Jou’s wounds so he helped him pull up his pants and lifted him up in his arms. “I have to hide you.” Jou buried his face in Seto’s shirt and began to cry.
“You came for me...I thought you weren’t coming...”
“I just had a feeling that something was wrong, Jou. I’ll always come for you, don’t ever doubt that.”
“I’m sorry, Seto...”
“You have nothing to be sorry about, love. We’ll talk about this after everything is over. Right now, I need to find a place to hide you. Where are the others? How’s Mokuba!?” Jou hung his head.
“I don’t know where the others went...we all scattered. I know Mokuba took Annar and went with Beowulf. To where, I don’t know...I should have protected him more, Seto. Are you mad at me?” Seto shook his head.
“You tried your best pup. I know Mokuba, and I’m sure he found the perfect hiding place.” He couldn’t help but worry about his little brother now. But first, he had to hide Jou...
Mokuba jumped over some dead bodies to get to the steps where he knew there was a crawl space. Annar was being quiet much to his relief and Beowulf took up the rear. When he reached the steps the crawl space was still there. It was small, but big enough for all of them. Mokuba crawled into the small hallow and Beowulf followed. He pressed his back up against the stone and held Annar close to his chest.
“Don’t worry guys, they won’t find us here! Only Seto knows about this little place!” Beowulf laid down next to him, his ears twitching at all the sounds. They could hear swords clashing, men yelling, and objects crashing. “I hope Seto and the others are okay.”
Bakura lay on the bed, battered and bleeding. The men had finally finished their dirty deed and just up and left, leaving him there alone. He was to shocked and sore to move. It seemed like every bone in his body ached terribly, and he just couldn’t find the strength to move. He had never thought something like this would happen to him. He was no stranger to pain, but this was a first, and he didn’t like it.
A sudden thought came to his head: did Ryou feel like this when he took him? The memory of him raping Ryou came back to his mind, and it made him feel worse than he was. What goes around, comes around. He could still hear the battle going on, and at the moment, he was easy prey for anyone. He needed Marik, or Yami. He didn’t think he could walk on his own...
“Bakura?!” A wave of hope rushed through him as he heard the voice of Marik in the room. The gods heard his plea! He looked over to the door and Marik rushed in. “What the hell happened?!” Seeing his brother’s worried face, Bakura couldn’t hold back his tears and they trickled down his cheeks. He lifted his arms up to Marik.
“Marik...help me!” He couldn’t form any other words, for none would come to mind. Marik bent down and wrapped the blood stained covers around Bakura and lifted him up in his arms.
“I got ya now, Bakura, you’re safe. The battle is almost over! We are crushing their forces like ants!”
“They...they-“ Marik stopped him.
“I know. Don’t worry, I’ll keep you safe. Let’s go.”
Duke shot another arrow into the heart of a fighter and continued down the hallway. Any arrow he saw he quickly picked up and used it. He didn’t miss a shot, and was quite pleased with his archery skills. Everything was right on target, and he didn’t have a scratch on him! 35 men and still counting!
He stopped at an intersection and peeked around the corners. He gasped when he saw Keith fighting with two of Yami’s men. Duke saw a dead man against the wall, dripping blood on the floor. It gave him an idea.
He had to lore Keith to Yami, so this madness could stop. He kneeled down next to the man and covered his hands with the blood. Quickly, he wiped most of it on his clothes and places some on his face. Next he tore his tunic top and smeared more blood on his arms and chest. This should work, he thought and dropped the bow and arrows. He heard the two men give out a holler of pain and fall to the floor, obviously wounded or hurt. That was his cue.
“Keith?! Keith help!!” Keith had just turned around the corner and gasped as he saw Duke lying on the floor, battered and bleeding. “Help me..!” Keith kneeled down next to him and lifted him into a sitting position.
“What did they do to you?!” Duke turned on the fake tears again.
“They...they were so...brutal!! Please...please take me out of here!! Please darling?” Keith nodded and lifted him up in his arms.
“I’ll take you out to my men, they’ll protect you while we clean up in here.” Keith turned right at the intersection. “Just hold on for a bit, Duke.”
Duke thought about he situation, wondering how he was going to get away. If he could just grab something heavy and hit Keith with it, he should be able to get away. He’d have to knock Keith out, and find someone to carry him to Yami. If Keith goes down , the army has to retreat. Now if he could only- *CHONG*! Duke shrieked as he suddenly hit the floor, Keith landing right on top of him.
“Heavy son of a bit-RYOU!?” Ryou AND Yami stood above both of them, Ryou holding an iron torch. Duke also noticed that Keith was out cold and Ryou must have done it. Way to go!
“I’ve been following you ever since we fled the room! You were just too fast for me to catch up. You ran like a stag!”
“Just get this thing off of me!!” Yami bent down and lifted Keith up off of Duke.
“I’m not really hurt, it’s an act.”
“You did well in distracting him, Duke. Good thinking.”
“Hey, I knocked him out!” Ryou whined. Yami turned to him and smiled.
“You did very well too, Ryou.” Duke cut in front of them.
“Enough of this chit chat, Yami, end this battle! NOW!” Yami smirked and put his sword his away.
“It’s already over, Duke. Most of Keith’s men have fallen, and only a few remain. Once they know we have their leader, they HAVE to leave, or my men will see to it that EVERY last one of them are killed. Let’s go.”
Keith was slowly coming to as he felt himself being dragged. His hands were tied behind his back, the rope cutting into the skin. Whoever was dragging him suddenly let him drop, his head hitting tloorloor. He groaned and rolled over on his stomach, trying to bring his mind back to reality. Someone suddenly grabbed him by his hair, yanking him up in a kneeling position. He held his breath when a sword came to rest at his neck.
“So what are we gonna do with this backstabbing bastard?!” That was Marik who had said that. He looked around and saw his cousins and company glaring at him.
“Put this traitor to the family in chains and throw him in the dungeon! We’ll deal with him after more important matters are settled. Your army has fled, Keith. Hardly any were spared. Now you must be punished.”
“Just take this fucker and kill him!” Duke shouted and aimed an arrow at him. Keith’s shocked face slowly turned to a glare.
“Duke, you were leading me on all along!?”
“Absolutely! I never knew I could act so well!”
“He told us all about your scheme with Pegasus!” Yami said. “It’s a good thing Duke got his memories back. Pegasus is a disgrace to the family name, as are you Keith!” Bakura spat at his cousin.
“You always were!” Keith smirked evilly.
“As are you, Bakura! And you too, Marik!!” Marik and Bakura exchanged glances.
“What are you talking about, bitch!?” Marik demanded, pointing his sword between Keith’s eyes.
“I’m saying you’re in the same boat as me, Marik!” Keith looked over at Yami. “Tell them, Yami! Tell them who they REALLY are!” Marik and Bakura looked at Yami questionably. Yugi gave a light gasp and hid his face in Yami’s chest.
“I have no idea what he’s talking about! Watch that tongue of yours, Keith, or you’ll lose it!” Yami nearly shouted.
“Both of you are bastard sons, just like me! That’s what your father told Pegasus years ago!”
“ENOUGH!” Yami scouted, startling Yugi. “GET HIM OUT OF MY SIGHT!” Four men grabbed Keith and started to drag him away from the others. Tristan came up behind Duke and wrapped his arms around his waist. Keith growled at the sight.
“YOU LITTLE SLUT!! JUST WAIT UNTIL I GET MY HANDS ON YOU, DUKE! I’LL-“ The door slammed shut as the men exited the room. Yami turned to his brothers.
“It’s all a lie, I swear it!!” He said. “Don’t listen to him! He’s just trying to turn us against each other!” Bakura started for the exit and Yami called after him. “Bakura, where are you going!?” Bakura didn’t look back but just kept walking.
“I need to rest. It’s been a long day....later.” Yami was about to call him back when Marik placed a hand on his shoulder.
“Yami, can I talk to you in private?” Yami nodded and the two walked out of room. Marik looked around to make sure they were alone.
“What is it?” Yami asked.
“Two things.” Marik started. “One, I know Keith is right about us being bastards.” Yami’s eyes widened in shock.
“How did you-“
”I over heard father talking about it a while ago.” Yami crossed his arms.
“If you knew, why didn’t you tell me?”
“I thought you didn’t know, and I didn’t want to tell you that we weren’t brothers.” Yami suddenly gripped Marik’s tunic.
“We ARE brothers! Mother and father accepted you into the family! Your mothers gave you up, and father entitled you both to the family lands and homes! I still think of you as a brother!” Marik started to laugh.
“I guess little Yugi is changing your personality too, Yami. We always thought you would murder us in our sleep!” Yami put his hands on his hips.
“You’ve both tempted me sometimes, and you still do! But that’s beside the point. I concider you both my brothers, and it will stay that way. I know I haven’t shown any brotherly love over the years, but, I want to make up for it.” Yami leaned against the wall and lowered his eyes. “I want a chance to play the role of “big brother”, like I should have done years ago.” Marik gave him a little smile.
“Well, what I’m about to tell you next, you WILL get a chance to play big brother.” Yamis’ gaze narrowed.
“Why, what happened?!”
“It concerns Bakura. Look, I’m angry as hell right now about it, but I’m trying to keep my temper in check before I go insane and kill someone.” Yami stomped his foot.
“Just tell me already!”
“Bakura...well...Bakura was raped and beaten by two enemy Viking’s during the fight.” Yami gave him a blank stare. “Yami...now don’t flip out...be calm-“
”HOW THE HELL CAN I BE CALM!?”
“Well-“
”THESE FUCKERS PUT THEIR DICKS UP OUR BABY BROTHER’S ASS, AND ALL YOU CAN SAY IS “BE CALM”!?”
“WELL NOW THAT THE WHOLE FUCKING CASTLE KNOWS!!” Marik shouted back at him.
“NOT TO MENTION THEY BEAT HIM TOO! THOSE LOUSY BASTARDS!” he slammed hsi fist against the wall. “I’ll torture and kill every last one of those rapists with my own hands!!”
“Yami, this is something I know Bakura will take to heart. He won’t show it, but I know he will. When I walked in the room, he literally couldn’t move. I had to carry him out of the room. He was trying so hard not to cry, but he did a little bit. Don’t say I told you he cried.” Yami drug a hand down his face.
“Odin’s blood, I did NOT need to hear this right now.” Marik sighed.
“This was a disaster. Even Seto has reached a level of anger I’ve never seen in him before. Jou was raped too, you know. Along with my Malik! Those bastards won’t get away with this!” Yami nodded.
“I’m going to call a meeting tomorrow afternoon to discuss this matter. Go take a rest, Marik.”
“Right. Go to Yugi, he needs you I’m sure. Wait a bit to see Bakura.”
“Okay, later.”
“Later.”
Bakura’s Room:
“Bakura, are you okay?” Ryou asked.
“I’m sorry, Ryou.” Ryou cocked his head to the side.
‘What for?” Bakura looked over at him.
“For raping you...I know how it feels, now.” Ryou gasped.
“Bakura, were you-?” There was a knock on the door. Both looked to the door as Yami entered the room.
“Bakura, can I talk to you?” He looked at Ryou. “Will you excuse us, Ryou?” Ryou nodded.
“Of course.” He left the room and Yami sat down on the bed next to his brother. Bakura gave him a look of confusion.
“What is it?” Yami wasn’t sure what to say at the moment, so he decided to use actions instead. He brought Bakura into a tight hug.
“Marik told me what happened.” Bakura was more shocked by Yami’s sudden show of affection.
“Oh...”
“Don’t pull away, Bakura. I know it may be a little late, but I want to become more of a brother to you and Marik.” He felt Bakura return his embrace.
“It’s never to late, Yami. I need a big brother right now. Stay with me for a bit?” Yami smiled gently and stroked Bakura’s hair.
“I can do that.” He felt Bakura pinch his arm. “OW!”
“Tell anybody about this and I’ll cut your balls off.” Yami chuckled.
“Fair enough.” He realized Bakura’s body suddenly tensed and he looked down at him. “What’s wrong?”
“About what Keith said...is it true?” Yami rest his head on top of Bakura’s and sighed. There was no use in lying, the truth was out. Word would get around fast, and it would hurt Bakura more if he found ohe the truth from a stranger.
“Yes, what he says is true.” He felt Bakura’s fists clench his tunic and his body stiffen.
“So it is true...we’re not brothers-“
”Don’t say that!” Yami said, his voice firm and steady. “If anything, we’re half brothers, and that still counts for something. Mother and father loved you just as much as they did me. Father gave you and Marik rights to the family lands and treasures. You ARE a Bolverk, and I still accept you as a brother.” Bakura sighed and pulled away from Yami.
“That doesn’t change the fact that I’m a bastard son like Keith! I’m not really Sinmora’s child,” he wrapped his arms around himself. “But I loved mother more than father.” He turned back to Yami, giving him a look that could kill. “Why didn’t you tell me this before, Yami?!” Yami lowered his eyes.
“I’m sorry, Bakura, but I didn’t want you two to know. Mother didn’t want you to know either, nor did father! Hardly ANYONE knew about this! We just wanted you and Marik to be happy.”
“And what of Marik?! Does he know about this?!”
“Yes, Marik actually knew about it for a long time.” Bakura growled. “But, I didn’t tell him, nor did I know he knew about it. He said he had overheard mother and father talking about it, and that he had always suspected it.” Bakura crossed his arms angrily.
“Now I know why mother always seemed to favor you! I always thought it was because you were the first born and heir to the family lands. Now I understand completely. I know no woman who had a man in her life, actually didn’t MIND him sleeping around with other women. It did bother mother, but she never showed it.” Yami ran a hand through his hair.
“Don’t you think that’s how Ryou feels when you sleep around?” Bakura nodded.
“I couldn’t help it. I thought it was fine since mother didn’t care. And also, Ryou reminds me of her, so I thought it wouldn’t be a problem.”
“Don’t be like father, Bakura. Ryou is practically on his knees trying to get you to love him back. If I can fall in love with Yugi, surely you can fall in love in Ryou.” Bakura smirked.
“I don’t the word “love” and I belong in the same sentence. Ryou would be better off with cousin Davin than me. They’re both pansies.” Yami chuckled.
“Yugi says he only has eye for you. He was probably thinking the same things you were when he slept with Davin. If you could do it, then so could he. All in all, Bakura, he does have a point.”
“Whatever. Right now, my head il col confused....go back to Yugi, or something. I want to be alone now.”
“You sure?” Bakura nodded.
“Yeah. I need time to think.” Yami nodded and stood up.
“Okay. I’m here, if you...need me for anything.”
“Yeah, yeah.”
Ryou peeked in through the key hole and smiled happily. Both Bakura and Yami were warming up to each other. Even Marik was turning softy. He wanted to be the one to comfort Bakura, but he wasn’t about to interrupt with their bonding moment. Ryou knew it was more important for Yami to comfort his brother, since Bakura seemed to want Yami’s touch instead of his.
So they weren’t full blooded brothers? He wasn’t expecting that. And Bakura was still being stubborn about falling in love. Ryou shook his head. It hurt deep down, but he had to remember that Bakura was just difficult to work with. Maybe this rape he had will lighten him up, after he gets his bearings. He would just have to be patient with Bakura. No use crying over it. He jumped and ran when he saw Yami walking to the door. That’s all he needed to do was get caught.
Seto’s Room:
Seto stared out the window, his fists clenched on the sill. He couldn’t remember when he had been this angry before, if he even ever HAD! How DARE Keith and Pegasus turn on them! He always knew Pegasus was a rat: no doubt his army will be back again. They may have defeated Keith’s men, but Pegasus’s army still stood strong. He made Keith’s men fight first and spared his own. Even Keith was played a fool in this.
Seto still couldn’t believe this had happened. His visions were never wrong before, even though he hoped they were. And he had hoped Yami would have seen the truth in his foresight. Everything he had seen in the dream came true. And he finally knew who that fox was! It was SO obvious! Why hadn’t he thought of it before?! He was slipping!
“Seto?” Jou was calling him. “Seto? Seto, look at me.” Jou was sitting on the bed holding Mokuba close to him. Seto looked back at them over his shoulder.
“I’m thinking, don’t bother me!” He turned back to the window.
“Seto, why are you so mad?” Mokuba asked, but he didn’t answer. Mokuba gave Jou a pitiful look.
“Seto, darling, don’t ignore your brother.” Seto’s body tensed.
“Damn it, Jou! Don’t bother me right now!” Jou glared at him.
“Seto please, don’t dwell on this. None of us could have controlled what happened today.” Seto turned around sharply.
“Yami could have if he had listened to me! We could have been prepared for this!
“Then stop being an ass about it! It’s not your fault!” Jou placed Mokuba on the bed and stalked up to Seto.
“I just wish people would listen to me! This could have all been avoided if Yami heeded my warning!” Jou gave Seto a slap across the face.
“Just shut up about his already! It’s over now! So knock it off already!!” Seto suddenly lifted his arm and backhanded Jou, knocking him to the floor. Jou looked up at Seto in shock, then covered his head to avoid another blow. Mokuba jumped off the bed and ran to Jou, throwing himself on top of him.
“No! Please Seto, don’t hit Jou again!” He pleaded to his brother. Jou looked up at him with tears in his eyes, and Seto’s features softened. He realized how he was acting and calmed himself down. He saw the dried blood on Jou’s thighs and his bruised arms. MOkuba was trembling and on the verge of tears. He fell to his knees in front of them and pulled them both into a tight embrace. Jou clung to him and Mokuba buried his head between the two.
“I’m so sorry, Jou, Mokuba. This was a total disaster and I’ve just been so stressed out lately. I shouldn’t have taken it out on you guys. Can you forgive me?” Mokuba smiled up at him through his tears.
“I forgive you, big brother!” Jou nodded.
“I understand, Seto. Don’t worry, I forgive you.” Seto sighed and kissed them both on their foreheads. How could he have hurt the ones he loved above all else? They WERE his family. He was going to marry Jou and Mokuba needed his care. Jou helped with that, and Seto couldn’t ask for more. These two were the only thing he needed to make his life whole.
“I love you guys. You know that, right?”
“Of course, Seto!” Mokuba said, hugging them both. Jou smiled up at Seto and kissed his cheek.
“We know that, darling.” Seto sighed and rest his forehead against Jou’s.
“I will avenge you for what they done, Jou. Those bastards will pay dearly for this!” ‘No one does that to MY puppy!’ He said to himself ‘That’s an invasion of territory!!’ Justice WILL be served.
Deep in the forest, Pegasus’s men made camp. They had to retreat after the defeat of Keith’s army. Only a few had escaped, only with his two men Sigal and Thorn. Now they had to lay low for awhile. Keith’s army was an increase for his, now it was cut in half! He was right back where he started. Now he had to form alliance with someone else. For the time being, he’ll stay in Keith’s castle, hopefully keep it for his own. There was no doubt that Yami will let Keith rot in jail, if he doesn’t decide to execute him.

Yami’s Room:

“Come on, Yugi. I’ve gotta get you out of here!” Yugi whimpered, not taking his hands away from his eyes.
“All that struggling made my...my legs go numb, Malik. I don’t think I can walk...my wound hurts-!”
“Then I’ll just have to carry you! Get on my back!” Yugi whimpered and climbed onto Malik’s back, clutching his neck. He buried his face in Malik’s soft hair and started to cry again.
