27: The Question
Ah… finally Friday! I love to just relax after a
week’s hard work…
“Seto-san, can I ask you something?” Ryou asked out of
the blue.
“What do you want to know?” I leaned back on the
couch, just opposite Ryou who sat in the armchair. And on the sofa table were
three cups of tea and some cookies that one of the maids had brought here.
“Why did you date Yugi?” I blinked at him.
“Why do you need to know why I sadly enough dated
Yugi?” I asked him.
He shrugged “I just wondered…”
“Well I did it out of pity. He was always alone, with
no friends and such…” I began and started to think back on why I did it, well I
never like Yugi in the first place, I always thought
and still thinks, that he is importunate.
“So it was out of pity?” Ryou asked and I nodded “Did
you ever…love him?” he asked and I blinked again.
“No!!! Why would I love him? That was one of the main
reasons I broke up with him, because I didn’t!!!” I said in disgust “What gave
you that impression?”
He shrugged “Well, one is the Yugi always talks about
you… like it was love at first sight or something”
“Well, one thing you should know about Yugi is that he
is importunate, also one of the reasons I broke up with him!”
hair “I don’t care about him or his stupid friends, never did never will”
“So…” Ryou clicked his tongue thoughtfully “There’s no
one you care about…”
“That’s not entirely true; I care for my brother, you
and…” I quickly bite the last of that sentence off and turned my head away from
Ryou, what the hell am I saying!!! And why am I blushing?!!! What’s the matter
with me?!!
I cursed my stupidity as Bakura snickered, when did he
come out?!! “And…?” he said and I could almost hear him smirk.
“Nothing” I answered, still not looking in his
direction.
“N’aw, don’t lie to me…”
“There was nothing more to say about that subject!” I
said, trying to end that conversation but Bakura really wanted to know what I
was about to say…
“Come on tell me…” he said silkily.
“No. There’s nothing to tell”
Then I felt a hand on my knee and spun my head around
and silently cursed myself for not noticing how close Bakura had got. He was
still standing up but he had his right hand on my knee and closed in his head
so our lips were brushing against each other.
“Who is the third one?” he said huskily with
half-lidded eyes. Feeling his breath against my lips made my breath hitched up
and the blush still hadn’t gone away!
“No one…” I said and tried to make it sound
believable.
“Tell me…”
“No…”
“Come on…” My breath hitched even further as his let
his left hand wander through my hair “Tell me…”
I bit my lip “It’s…”
He raised one eyebrow “Yes…?” he said huskily.
I stared into his mahogany eyes, and then sighed
because I knew I had lost this discussion… “It’s…” I echoed before I was trying
to answer him… but then the door started to open so he walked back to the
armchair and then withdrew himself so that Ryou reappeared.
When the door opened a maid and Mokuba entered the
room, he walked over and sat himself next to me “Nii-sama?” I looked at him
“Why are you blushing? Are you starting to get a fever?”
“No, I’m not”
“Then why do you blush?”
“No reason…” I assured him.
