The Viking Brothers

Chapter 29: Wolves on the Prowl

Tristan and Duke rode back the castle on Keith’s horse at full speed. Duke had to get back to warn Yami of the upcoming battle. It was only about half a days ride from Keith’s home to Yami’s, but the trip seemed to go on for hours. Duke thought they would never reach the castle in time. If Keith had awoken, then the army might be on it’s way! Or worse, it could already be there! They did get a late start from the cave, and Duke was near freezing wrapped in nothing but Tristan’s cloak. He also couldn’t wait to get some clothes!

When they came out of the woods and rode down the hill, both men could see torch fires far in the distance on the opposite side. Duke gasped as he realized it must be Keith and Pegasus’s army! The army was getting ready to attack from the front, and Tristan hoped they could make it in through the side to the kitchen. They rode up to the kitchen door as the rain began to fall. Tristan jumped off the horse and helped Duke down before banging rapidly on the door.

“LET US IN! PLEASE! IT’S TRISTAN, AND DUKE!! OPEN THE DOOR!!!” He heard the latch click and the door opened, reveling one of the cooks. He stepped aside and let the two men through. “The Vikings are here!” The cook nodded.

“I know! Seto has warned the entire castle! The warriors are getting ready to do battle as we speak.”

“Where’s Yami!?” Duke asked. “I know who is attacking and I need to find him right away!” The cook shook his head.

“Everyone is running around in a panic! No one knows where anyone is! You just have to go look for him, I’m sorry.” Tristan grabbed Duke’s hand.

“Let’s go find him! Or at least one of the brothers!” The two ran out of the kitchen and into the court room, dodging warriors and servants. Duke spotted Seto, Yami, and his brothers up on the dais, shouting out a million orders. Both ran up the dais steps.

I!! I!! YAMI!!” Duke shouted, catching all of their attention.

“DUKE?!” Yami asked in surprise. The others looked at him the same way. “What are you doing here?!

“I have something important to tell you! I got my memories back, and this army who is attacking you right now belongs to Keith and Pegasus!!”

“WHAT?!” Everyone shouted in unison.

“Believe me, I overheard them talking back at the castle, how they were planning on attacking your stronghold and obtaining your lands and wealth! Your cousin and uncle have betrayed you!!” Seto gave a sigh of relief.

“You were the only one who was with me on this, Duke. Thank the gods for that.” Bakura growled and cracked his knuckles.

“Just wait until I get my hands on that low down, dirty, rotten, backstabbing son of a whore!!”

“Worry about that later! Right now, we have to protect our home!”

“Give me a bow and I will fight with you!” Yami shook his head.

“No, go up to my room with Yugi and the others! Help Jou protect them. We have Tristan here, and don’t need you. You’re better off up there with Yugi. Get moving!” Duke glared.

“Hey, I’m tired of being ordered around! I’m going to stay right here!” Tristan placed a hand on his shoulder.

“I agree with Yami. You’ll be much safer with the others.” Duke pouted.

“But Tristan-!”

“No buts! I don’t want to lose you again to that bastard!” Duke sighed and nodded, brushing Tristan’s hand off as he jumped off the dais to go to Yugi’s room. Yami turned to his brothers.

“Okay, Bakura, you take the west wing, Marik, take the east wing! Seto, I want you to take the back, I’ll take the front! Gather up your men and ready your swords!”

Duke hurried up the many flights of stairs to get to Yami’s room, and hopefully get some clothes! He grabbed an extra bow and quiver from one of the Vikings who shouted at him to give it back, but he didn’t stop. Duke finally made it to Yami’s room and he knocked on the door.

“Yugi!! It’s me, Duke! Let me in!!”

“Duke?!” He heard Jou’s voice on the other side of the door. “What are you doing here?!”

“It’s a long story! Hurry or you won’t get to hear it!!” He heard a click as the door swung open, revealing Jou with sword in hand. Duke hurried in and Jou shut the door, locking it again. Yugi was on the bed holding Annar and Mokuba close. Ryou, Beowulf and Malik were on either side of them.

“What happened to you?” Malik asked, making Duke blushed.

“Never mind. I just need some clothes! May I borrow some.” Yugi nodded silently and pointed to the wardrobe. Duke hurried over and searched through Yami’s clothes. He found a long sleeved white tunic and ripped leggings, but it would have to do.

“How did you escape?” Ryou asked, rubbing his aching wrist as Duke got dressed.

“Tristan came to rescue me.” Jou blinked in surprise.

“Shit, he did?!” Duke glared at him.

“Is there something wrong with him saving me?”

“No, no! I didn’t mean that! What I meant was, that if he DID rescue you, he would stir up a hornet’s nest. And he did.” Duke shook his head.

“Keith’s not in it for that reason. It’s all about wealth, power, and betrayal!” Everyone looked at him.

“Do you have your memories back?” Malik asked.

“Yeah, I got them back about two days ago. This was all a planned attack!” They all gasped in shock. “I overheard Keith and Pegasus talking about it the day Avaldamon threw me. They were planning on attacking Yami’s strong hold all along! I thought by acting like the love sick pup with Keith, I could gain myself some more freedom other than being locked in that damn room! I was SO close to getting him to stop the attack, but I think Tristan coming to save me pissed him off.” Jou growled and slappedand and to his face.

“I told him not to do anything rash!! No offense Duke, but if he didn’t save you, this wouldn’t have happened! We would have eventually found a way to get you back from Keith! Damn him for not listening to me! I told him I had a bad feeling and that he should just lay low! Now I have to smack him one!”

“Even if he didn’t rescue me, this would have happened eventually. If Keith had dropped out of the attack, I’m sure Pegasus would have found another gofer! It would have only been a matter of time! Pegasus is the REAL mastermind behind this, not Keith.”

“What’s Yami doing about this, Duke?” Yugi asked, a bit of panic in his voice.

“He’s going to defend his castle, obviously. There will be fighting, Yugi.” Yugi whimpered and buried his head in Mokuba’s mane of hair.

“This just shows you that everyone should listen to my big brother!” Mokuba said and Duke nodded in agreement.

“Same for me! I knew Keith was bad news from the moment I laid eyes on him!”

“But can you really blame him?” Malik said and everyone turned to him. “Marik tells me all the time about the cruel tricks he and Bakura played on Keith when they were young. Because he was born in low society, he wasn’t really acknowledged by the other cousins. This is all about revenge on his part, and Pegasus I’m sure knew about that already. This is a perfect opportunity for Keith to get his revenge. What goes around comes around.”

“But Keith didn’t say anything about Marik and Bakura! He said he was out to get Yami! And you said only Marik and Bakura picked on him.”

“The thing I want to know is,” Started Ryou “Why is Keith after Yami? Surely Yami must have angered him more than his brothers. And this is just a way for him to kill two birds with one stone.”

“You’re right, Ryou.” Jou said. “This has to do with Yami...but...I never heard Seto mention anything about it. Usually he tells me everything.” He turned to Yugi. “Has Yami ever said anything about Keith?” Yugi shook his head.

“No, only that he was trying to keep the peace between the family homes.” Duke thought for a second.

“Hmmaybeaybe there’s more to this story than meets the eye.”

Yami ordered all the archers to arrange themselves on top of the castle. Their best bet was to try and hold them off from the top. The draw bridge was closed and the heavy rain beat down heavily upon them. The storm had begun, and the black rain made it almost impossible to see. The archers readied their bows and aimed them at any approaching army. Once the enemy warriors were in range, Yami gave the order to fire. In a split second, the sky was raining arrows. Luckily, the arrows hit their targets, killing or wounding most men in the front line.

“Fire at will, men!” Yami ordered and his men eagerly obeyed.

But it didn’t take long for a small group of warriors to make it to the drawbridge. The enemy got their archers into range and they managed to distract Yami’s men. Another group of men shielded four warriors pushing along a tree trunk with a pointed end. Yami gasped as he caught on to their strategy. It was an old one, but why screw with the classics! It’s effective!

To his horrore wae warriors wheeled the tank strait into the drawbridge wood. Yami felt the vibrations and ordered his men to try and fire at them. But the enemy blocking the others with large flat shields protected tfromfrom any arrows. They rammed tre tree tip into the drawbridge again and pierced the wood clean through

“Everyone!” Yami shouted. “Retreat back inside and prepare for battle!” The archers followed Yami’s orders and hurried back into the castle. Yami looked down over the castle wall and watched as the tree went all the way through this time. The Viking enemies were in the castle. “Odin, help guide me to victory!” Yami shouted to the sky, thrusting his sword to the lighting filled sky.

One by one, the Viking enemies ran inside the castle through the hole in the drawbridge, slaying anyone close to them. One killed the servant who controlled the drawbridge and lowered it for the others. All of Yami’s men made it to the center and dove into battle. It quickly became a one on one fight.

Some of the men broke away from the center room and entered the west wing, looting anything that was valuable. They laughed amongst themselves as they entered a new hallway. But this one was all dark except for two lit torches. The men stopped and looked around.

“Maybe we should go back.” One said.

“Nah, just grab a torch and keep walking! Maybe we’ll find the treasury or something!”

“Hey guys, do you hear that?!” Another asked.

“Hear what?” One answered, confused.

Everyone was silent as they heard a soft “clicking” sound. It got louder as it seemed to get closer. The men readied their weapons and waited for whatever it was to come into the light. A sudden loud “screeching” noise threatened to make their ears bleed! They even saw some sparks that flew off the wall? Suddenly, one of the men shouted out and ran.

“RUN FOR YOUR LIFE!!” The other men all gasped and slowly backed up as a figure came on horse back.

“It’s that psycho with the huge horse!” Marik and Avaldamon walked out of the shadows, Marik dragging his twin battle axes along the wall. He smirked evilly and Avaldamon stomped his hoof. The men turned tail and took off, in fear of their lives! But Marik followed them, laughing manically. The men didn’t get very far as Avaldamon caught up to them. The large horse jumped up and knocked two of the men down as Marik beheaded another.

They rode down the halls, Avaldamon trampling and Marik beheading. There was only one man from the small group left and he tripped on one of the slightly raised floor stones. He tried to get up, but was suddenly pushed down to the floor by Avaldamon’s large hoof. The man pleaded for his life, but Marik would hear none of it. Avaldamon snorted and placed another hoof on the man’s back. The man cried out in pain, struggling to escape.

“Push harder, Avaldamon! Wipe your hooves with this asshole!” Avaldamon did just that, dragging his heavy hooves on the man’s back. The strength and sharpness of the hooves sliced through the man’s skin, and Marik shivered in delight at the sounds of the screams. “Ah, hear that beautiful sound. It makes me want to cry.” Marik pretended to cry while wiping his eyes. “It’s all...so beautiful!” The man’s cries seemed to weaken. “Oh, he’s no fun anymore! Kill him, Av.” The horse stepped on his neck, snapping it instantly. “Good boy. Now, lets go kill us some more!” He reared the horse and they took off down the steps into the court room.

That’s where most of the fighting was taking place, the perfect spot for Marik. He was going to make an entrance those enemy Vikings would never forget! Avaldamon broke out into a powerful run towards the court room doors and barged through them, knocking one off it’s hinges. Anyone around them paused in their fighting, except Marik. Avaldamon wasted no time in heeding his master’s orders and riding strait into the battle. Marik slayed and beheaded every enemy that crossed his way.

Since Avaldamon was such a big horse, it was hard for every weapon to get in a good range to strike. Marik put away his other battle axe and pulled out his large club, laughing manically as he smashed the cheeks or shoulder blades of warriors. Avaldamon ran over anyone in his way, enemy or ally. Yami’s men all felt a ray of hope as Marik took on most of enemies. A true berserker!

Bakura swung his sword and hacked off a enemy leg. He jumped over the fallen body thrust his weapon into another’s belly. He heard a war cry behind him and he swung the other man around to shield his body. The enemy’s sword slid into the man’s chest and Bakura let go, jumping out from behind the body. Bakura sliced the man’s side, enjoying the scream of pain he emitted. Just like Marik, he loved watching others in pain. It was fun! Bakura hurried down the hall, hacking off a few legs and arms as he went. These warriors weren’t that tough at all!

Suddenly, he tripped over something and fell face first onto the stone floor. He moaned in slight pain as he lifted his head up, his hand immediately going to his mouth. He must have banged his teeth on the stone. Ouch! He wondered what the hell he tripped over as he spat out some blood. There was a sudden coldness on his neck as something sharp pressed up against it. He held his breath, recognizing the feel of a blade.

Whoever held the sword to his throat suddenly yanked his hair back, nearly ripping it out of his skull. The man brought him into a standing position and Bakura’s hands went to his hair, hoping to ease the sharping pain. The sword was at his throat again and he stood still, holding his breath once again.

“Gotcha’!” Bakura didn’t recognize the voice at all. “Hey Sigal, look what I caught!” Bakura saw a Viking warrior about the same height as Marik walking towards them.

“Was it any trouble?” Thorn asked.

“Nah, I just snuck up on his pretty ass! Can we have some fun?” Sigal nodded and pointed down the hall.

“Sure, I found an empty room.” Bakura’s mind was going a mile a minute, putting and and two together. He didn’t like the sound of ‘can we have some fun’. That worried him.

“What do you two assholes want with me?!” He asked as he was being pushed down the hallway. Thorn chuckled.

“You’ll find out soon enough!”

The men thrust him into a room and shut the door behind them. Before he knew it, the man was right in front of him, roughly gripping his upper arms. Bakura yelped as he felt nails dig into his skin, bringing forth trickles of blood. The man laughed darkly and threw Bakura on the bed, holding his hands on either side of his head. Bakura started to struggle under the weight, but found it futile. His legs were forced apart and the man settled none to gently between them. The man smirked and let his tongue emerge from his mouth, licking up Bakura’s long neck. Bakura struggled and groaned, disgusted by the slimy movement of that tongue. He felt it leave his skin and looked up at the man with disdain.

“Do me a favor and hold his arms down, Sigal!”

“LET ME GO YOU BASTARDS!!” He growled out, kicking his legs around in hope to knock the man off of him. Sigal got on the bed and pulled Bakura’s arm back to hold them in place. Bakura used all his strength to pull his hands away, but the bastard was just to damn strong for him!!

Thorn gripped his chin roughly and forced him in a kiss, slipping that slimy tongue in and halfway down Bakura’s throat. Bakura tired to pull away from the probing tongue, but Thorn had a good grip on his chin. He felt his pants suddenly ripped off of him and a hand stroking his inner thigh. Bakura actually shrieked and started thrashing around on the bed with all his might. Thorn pulled away from his mouth, quickly doing away with his pants.

Bakura knew what was going to happen, so he swallowed his pride and screamed for help. Thorn backhanded him with his fist, telling him to be quite. He had never felt so helpless before in his life, he just couldn’t get away from these bastards! A scream was torn from his throat as the man roughly entered him with no warning at all. He started to thrust merciless into Bakura, who was now holding in all his screams. He screamed twice already, and that was enough! He didn’t want to give in to his rapists so he did his best to keep silent.

Bakura felt Thorn’s hands on his hips as he was lifted up into a different angle. His thrusting seemed to speed up and Bakura was finding harder and harder to contain his screams. He had went through a lot of physical pain in his life, but this was by far the worse he ever had. He felt something tear inside of him and it only heightened the pain, causing him to emit a short scream. The man holding his arms down was smirking evilly above him and digging his nails into his flesh.

“We’ve been waiting for this ever since the games of last year! You brushed us off, remember that?!” Bakura found it impossible to think at the moment with waves of excruciating pain flowing through his body. “Hurry up Thorn so I can have a turn!”

“I’m waiting to hear this one scream again!” He grunted as he pounded Bakura harder into the bed. Bakura kept his lips tightly shut, he would not give in to these mongrels! He felt Thorn stiffen in his movements and shoot his essence deep inside him. It stung the tears horribly and Bakura had to bite his lip from crying out. He thought it was over when the bastard pulled out of him, but then he remembered the other one. The two men switched places, and Bakura knew for the first time what it felt like to be totally defenseless.

Yami’s Room:

Beowulf’s ears went up at the loud sound of men yelling and weapons clanging. Everyone heard it too and fell silent. Jou and Duke stood on either side of the door. Malik grabbed a golden candle stick holder as a weapon and stood in front of Yugi and the others. RYou sat by Yugi and Mokuba, all of them shaking with fright. Yugi couldn’t help but let out a shriek as the door was suddenly banged upon. Ryou placed his hand over Yugi’s mouth, praying to God that no one heard him.

Jou and Duke threw themselves on the door, trying to add some extra weight to it. It was banged upon two more times, and Annar burst into crying. The door was suddenly broken open, throwing Jou and Duke to the floor. Three men entered the room, their weapons bloody. Jou quickly jumped up and swung his sword at one of the men, but it was quickly blocked by the man’s battle axe. Duke didn’t have time to cock an arrow as one of the menbbedbbed him by his tunic front. Malik swung the candle stick holder at one of the men, making him laugh. He grabbed the object and twisted Malik’s hand, causing him to cry out. Yugi turned to Mokuba.

“Take Annar, Mokuba! Go hide! Run!” Mokuba gulped but nodded and took the baby. The men were distracted so he was able to slip through unnoticed. Three more Viking enemies entered the room and spotted Ryou and Yugi on the bed. They smirked evilly and rushed over to them. Ryou shrieked and dodged the man, but Yugi wasn’t so lucky.

Everything seemed to have happened at once. Jou’s sword was wrestled from his hands as he was drug out of the room, kicking and screaming for Seto. Duke squeezed away and ran out of the room, the Viking close behind him. Yugi screamed the man gripped his arm, forcing him down on the bed. Malik jumped on top of Yugi, knocking the man’s hand away from him.

“Don’t hurt him!” Malik said in Norse. “Take me instead!” Yugi gripped onto Malik’s tunic front.

“Malik! What are-!” Two men grabbed Malik’s arms and pulled him away from Yugi. Ryou had already ran out of the room, the Viking on his tail. The man tackled Yugi to the bed, enjoying his struggling. “Please don’t!” Yugi pleaded with him. “Only Yami can do this!!” The Viking grinned evilly and Yugi thought for a second that he was staring into the face of a demon. He heard Malik’s shrieks and clothing being ripped. The two men had Malik floor, one holding him down. The man on top of him tore his leggings clean off and Yugi blushed in embarrassment. This man was doing what only Yami could do to him! He started kicking, but his short limbs and small hands did even scratch the large warrior. Yugi felt his legs being pulled apart and he covered his face. He was going to betray Yami....
