26: The Inspectors
I looked at the clock at the bottom of the screen
again,
it’s been two and a half hours since Bakura went home and I had to finish de-bugging
the Duel Disc system which would be finished within an hour…
Then the intercom buzzed and I pressed the button “Yes
Fujiko?”
“There is two inspectors who want to meet you Sir” she
said.
“Send them in” And the games begins…
And the door opened and the two inspectors walked in,
a man and a woman.
“Good day inspectors, what can I do for you?” I asked.
“I’m inspector Sugisaki and this is inspector Hiyama,
we have some questions about the incident on

Pegasus Crawford got murdered” he said and then his partner cut in.
“We got information that you were present on the
island when Mister Crawford were murder, would you please tell us what you were
doing there”
“Well nothing more would please me to help the justice
system, I was on
to pick up my brother Mokuba who was inspecting our Duel boxes which they used
in their tournament” I started but inspector Hiyama cut in.
“Why weren’t you there to inspect the boxes yourself?
I’ve heard that you take pride in everything that’s made from this company and
if something is wrong with them, you personally go and check them up” she
stated.
“Yes, it’s true that I take pride in everything that
this company makes, because here we only make our products with the best and
latest in technology software. And I myself had just woken up from a three weeks
coma when I found out that Mokuba had gone to check upon the Duel Boxes on the
tournament and I went there as soon as I could”
“Why were you in a coma?” Inspector Sugisaki asked.
“I fell and hit my head three weeks ago”
They didn’t follow up on that subject and continued
“Where were you on the 8th of March around
Inspector Hiyama asked.
“I was at the nurse there with my brother who had
developed a nasty cold and then after he got some aspirin we went home” I said.
“And you heard nothing of Crawford’s murder?” Sugisaki
asked.
“Not until the next day when I saw the news”
“Well then, thank you for your time Mister Kaiba”
Inspector Hiyama made a small bow.
“I hope I was to any help” I said as they walked away.
Idiots.
Later the same evening when Bakura and I were watching
the news they had breaking news about the death of Pegasus… and it was that the
morgue had messed up some of the autopsy papers and they announced that
Pegasus’ death wasn’t murdered but he died of a severe heart-attack.
I turned to Bakura “Why the hell didn’t you tell me
you scared him to death?!!”
He shrugged “Did it really matter? I killed him either
way”
I sighed.
