A Captured Soul
The Nightmare!
Hey all, I know it's been a LONG time since my last update. I've been very busy with college and
then came that danged computer crash!! Anyways, thanks to all who are showing your support for
this story. I really do appreciate it! Now it's time for Chapter 26 and a feature POV of Yami.
Just a reminder... 'Bakura' ''Marik'' "'Yami'"
Chapter 26: A Captured Soul
*Marik's POV*
I wonder...if Pharoah could get back to Yugi, then can I get back to Malik without him having
to touch the Sen'nin Rod?
'What are you thinking about over there Marik?' Bakura asks me.
''Yugi and Pharoah.'' I reply calmly.
'"What about Yugi and Pharooah?'" Yami asks confusingly.
''Nothing. It's just that we need to demise a plan to...''
'To what? Spit it out already!'
''To...integrate with Jou!'' I say finishing my thought.
Since he's in his past memory, then he could accept one of us.
'Anything could work. I'm willing to try anything right now!'
"'Which one of us will do it?'" Pharoah asks.
I look at Bakura. I think that Pharoah should do it and apparently he is thinking the same thing. We
both look at Pharoah and smile.
"'What?! Why me? You two need to try it...'" Pharoah says trying to get his way out of the situation.
''Who better than you. You have more experience.'' I say defending Bakura and myself.
Pharoah lets out a deep sigh and begins to concentrate.
*Reader's POV*
"Bravo, bravo Malik! I see you still remember that little healing thingy you do." Dream Clown says
laughing.
Jou clasps onto Dream Clown tighter, making Kaiba cringe at the sight.
"What's wrong over there Seth? Can't stand me with my true lover?" Jou asks him.
"Personally Kat, I can't stand you and your jealousy of me and Jou. I would let you meet the business
end of my fist if you wasn't in Jou's prescious body." Kaiba replies cracking his knuckles.
"Don't do it Kaiba." Honda says placing his hand on Kaiba's shoulder.
"Anzu. Come here for a moment." says Dream Clown.
She steps from the shadows holding on to the Ring, Rod, and Puzzle.
"Yes, master?"
"The items, give them to me." Dream Clown says extending his hand towards her.
The Puzzle mysteriously appears around Jou's neck.
"Where's the Puzzle?" Dream Clown asks her.
He raises a hand as if to slap her until Kat stops him.
"It's right here around my neck. I don't know how it got there, but it's there." He says holding the
upside-down pyramid.
*Yami's POV*
Phew! Glad no one noticed what I did. Now that I'm clouse to Jou, I can explore his heart and find the
real Jounouchi! I will admit though, I did miss Kat. I acted like I didn't know him earlier...but I didn't
want to hurt my aibou's feelings. I love my aibou with all my heart and I don't want to hurt him, but
my koibito, Kat, was my 1st love. I wanted to be with him forever... We even promised each other
that if we were reborn or reincarnated, we would be together once more.
"'Ra, please guide me to Jou. Help me...'"
I close my eyes and concentrate. I can feel something around me change. When I reopen my eyes,
I see that I'm in a place similar to Yugi's mind. Now, where do I find Jou and Kat's souls?
"Looking for us Pharoah?" I hear someone call out.
I chase the voice down a long dank passageway until I am stopped by a dead end.
"Seems you have reached the end of your rope my dearest Atem." The voice says once more, now
louder than ever.
"'Kat? What are you doing? Get out of Jou's body!" I yell at him.
I try to press each of the slimy 'bricks' to hopefully find a secret latch. It works. The walls seperate and
on the other side I see the soul of Jou, naked, quivering, in a dark corner. Kat is standing before him. He
turns around and sees me.
"What are you doing here Atem?!" He asks me.
"'I should be asking you the same thing Kat!'"
"Yami...escape here...help me!" I hear a weak Jou cry out to me.
Just then, Kat kicks Jou in the ribs. Jou coughs and black blood escapes his lips.
"'Stop it Kat! What the hell are you doing to him?!"
"Atem, as you should know, a weak soul's body becomes a play-toy for people like us. You should
know. You used to take over the body of the young boy Yugi."
"'So, you think of Jou's body as nothing more than a child's play-toy?! What kind of man have you been
reborn to be?! And I never took over the body of my aibou, we shared the body!'"
"Lies, lies, and more lies. Anyways, I was reborn to the man you once loved Atem! I still remember our
promise!"
"'What promise?'" I say acting as if I didn't know.
"Atem, OUR promise," he says walking closer to me and holding my hands gently, lovingly, the way
he used to hold them, "Our promise to be together forever."
"'What are you talking about Kat?'"
I know I shouldn't lie, but if Jou finds out that I did make this promise to him, then he would be
devistated for Yugi and I would be ashamed to show my face before them. "Tha"That's ok. If you no longer want to be with me, then I'll stay with the one who does!"
"'Just let Jou go! Free his soul Kat! I can let you have a proper cere...'"
"No, Atem!" He yells cutting me off. "I can't go back! My soul will not rest until Seth is dead! He will
pay for killing me!"
"'If you don't want to let Jou's soul free, then give me the Sen'nin Items. Let me return the Rod and
Ring to their rightful owners!'"
"No! The Items are not mine to say."
"'Well then, should we play a little game for Jou's soul?'" I ask him.
"A game...what kind of game?"
I pull out my Duel Monsters deck. I shuffle it numerous times and cut them.
"What are you doing Atem?"
"'Remember the Dark Game? Well this is a modern version. We each draw car card. Any card of our
choice. Who ever has the weaker card will be devoured by the shadows. The winner gets control of
Jou's soul.'"
"Of couse, I will continue with my control over the soul and you shall pay for hurting me!"
I spread the cards face-down across the ground.
