After several months of hard thinking and relaxation, Joey had decided to phone Seto. The conversation wasn't pleasant at all: they were arguing, apologizing, then arguing again; they were hiding from one another that they were crying while talking. They were shouting at each other, and finally, made a deal for Seto to come in several days.
Joey had rented an apartment, found a job, and finally felt at peace. It wasn't much, but it was enough, to start all over again. He knew that he and Seto wouldn't become a couple straight away. They needed to sort the things out first. They needed a fresh start, to forget all the hatred and all the love, and all good and bad things that had happened to them. They so desperately needed to forget their previous lives and start the new ones. They knew, as well, that it was easier said than done, but they wouldn't know for sure if they didn't try.
So now, Joey was at the airport, waiting for Seto's plane to arrive. The airport was bathed in pleasantly warm golden sunlight of the late summer afternoon. His sister and mother had invited them for dinner, wanting to meet that nice guy Joey had been talking about. That's right, Joey's best friend.
From afar, he recognized soft chestnut brown hair, then a tall figure to which the hair belonged. The figure spotted him and headed towards him hurriedly. Seto stopped a meter before Joey, and they were looking at each other for long two minutes in absolute silence. All the noise from the airport ceased to exist; the air was painted in heavy honey colors.
They still loved each other, but those feelings seemed so fragile right now. But something strong gripped their hearts. They couldn't have repaired it then. But now, they would start it all anew, be friends, visit each other whenever they could...And if they happen to be lovers again, then it would be more than perfect. It would be so wonderful and this time without insanity. They would treasure their renewed love so tenderly.
"Long time no see, Joey." Seto said.
"Yeah, indeed." Joey replied, locking Seto's hand in a strong handshake, and smiled. Seto smiled back.
