Break Point

Break Point

~Yami’s point of view~

I chuckle as the gooey substance in the large ceramic bowl splatters all over Yugi. This is
his second attempt at making a cake for Mai Valentine’s going away party. I don’t think he’s
ever made a cake before. Watching him try is quite amusing.

Yugi threw down the electric mixer. He turned around and made a face at me.

“That wasn’t funny Yami.”

I cock my head.

“Oh? I thought it was.”

Yugi rolled his eyes. He grabbed some paper towels off the counter and started wiping the cake
mix off of his clothes.

“Now I’m going to have to change my clothes. I’ll never get this cake made for the party!” Yugi

groans with disgust as he peels his tight black t-shirt off.

I bit down on my tongue.

Yugi removed his belt.

“Uh, Yugi?”

Yugi looked up at me just as he was about to take off his jeans. It wasn’t like I hadn’t seen him
walking around in his boxers before, but this time it made me nervous.

Being a spirit.....how would Yugi say this? Sucks? I can’t touch or feel anything outside of the
Millennium Puzzle.

Yugi’s looking up at me expectantly.

“What Yami?”

I gaze longingly down on my hikari. I sigh longingly. I still can’t tell Yugi how I feel about him.
Something inside me is stopping me from doing so. I can’t quite put a finger on it thougp>
p>

I was a mighty pharaoh, how can this beautiful being standing before me bring me to my knees?

I need to tell Yugi, I just have to. I’m going crazy holding it all inside.

I smile; might as well crack a joke and lighten up the mood.

“You know Yugi, you’d be pretty cute if you washed all that shit off of you.”

Yugi glares back at me playfully. I love that bright sparkle in his crimson eyes.

“Oh you!......” Yugi crosses his arms in front of his chest.

“...I’d smack you if I could!”

I wag my eyebrows back at him suggestively.

“Oh yeah? I might enjoy that” I jest in response, but deep down I’m dead serious. I’d love to feel
Yugi do anything to me.

Yugi starts to laugh.

“Yami!”

I hold my hands up in front of myself defensively.

“What? Did I say something wrong?”

Yugi is grinning from ear to ear.

He turns around and wiggles his little butt tauntingly in my direction.

“I dare you!” He chuckles.

I bite down on my bottom lip.

“Don’t tempt me, little one!”

Yugi sticks his tongue out at me.

“You’ll have to catch me first!”

Yugi takes off running down the hall. That little tease! Feisty little hikari...grrr...he’s so cute.

“Hey Yami, come here! I need to ask you something.” Yugi yells down the hall to me.

“Coming” I yell back. His voice came from our bedroom.

I hurry down the hall. Damn, Yugi needs to learn to pick up his things. There’s random junk
strewn about just about everywhere in this hall. Yugi likes to take things apart and put them
back together. He’s got stereo equipment, old video game consuls, and all sorts of other strange
things laying around. He calls them his “projects.” The strangest thing has to be the bulky arcade
game at the end of the hall. Yugi picked it up at a garage sale a couple years ago. It didn’t work,
so he got it cheap. He started taking it apart as soon as he and Joey hauled it in to the house.
Within a few hours he had it working like new. Yugi and Joey spent days playing that thing. I
never liked it much.

I step over a pile of shoes as I walk into the room.

Yugi is digging through one of his dresser drawers. He pulls out a grey hood sweatshirt and
stares at it. It looks much too large to belong to him.

“You wanted me?” I muse as I walk over to the bed and lay on Yugi’s bed. Hmm....Maybe I
should strike a pose.....

Yugi neatly folds the sweatshirt and put it back in the dresser.

“Yeah, I’ll be right there.”

nts nts later Yugi joins be on the bed.

“Yami, can we, you know......talk?”

I nod my head.

“Yes Yugi? Is there something troubling you?”

Yugi rolls over and is looking directly at me. His face is very intense. I think he’s going to ask
me a question. He has that quizzical look in his eyes.

“Yami? Do you think I’ll ever love anybody I like loved Joey?”

I know where this is going, I have to tell Yugi how I feel. I have to do it now.

“Yugi? Aibou? I must tell you something....I-”

“Yami?”

“Yugi, let me finish, please.....”

I have tell him. I may not get another chance. I must tell Yugi I love him.

“Yami?”

“Yugi, I know you still have feelings for Joey, but I just-”

“Yami?”

“.....I just don’t want to see you hurt again.”

“Yami?”

“I care about you Yugi.....I lo-”

“Uh, Yami? When was the last time you saw the Millennium Rod?”

Huh? What was that? Millennium Rod? Oh Right.....

“Uh.....Wednesday, why?”

Yugi points next to the bed where we had the Millennium Rod last. I look over.

“Oh crap” I mutter. The rod is not there.

~normal point of view~

Isis adjusted the collar of her high-necked white shirt and turned to Tristan. She took
both Tristan’s hands into hers, than took a deep breath and looked into his eyes.

“It’s about the baby, Tristan.”

Tristan shifted around nervously. He looked down at Isis’s very pregnant stomach.

“Our baby? Is there something wrong with our baby, Isis?”

Isis shook her head.

“No, our baby is fine.”

Tristan sighed with relief.

“Whoo! You had me worried there for a minute, babe! So if everything is okay, what gives?”

Isis released Tristan’s hands and put her hands on her stomach.

“The baby and I moving back to Egypt.”

Tristan’s face froze with shock. His hands began to tremble.

“But why, Isis? You can’t just run off and move back to Egypt! That’s my kid too, you know!”

Isis nodded her head.

“Yes, I know, but I have no other choice.”

Tristan put his hand on his hip and raised his eyebrows. The was anger building in his voice.

“Oh yeah? Why don’t you have a choice?”

Isis took a few steps back. Her bottom lip trembled.

“It’s Rishid. He’s very sick. He’s family to me Tristan, I have to take care of him.”

Tristan’s blood began to boil. He glared sharply at Isis.

“I’m sorry, dear, but there’s no fucking way I’m letting you go back with MY kid inside of you. I
just won’t have it.”

Isis stood her ground. She scowled back at Tristan.

“I’m going back, you have no say in it.”

Tristan clenched his fists together tightly. The corner of his lip began to twitch.

“Why you fucking little bitch. Just who the fuck died and made you the queen, huh? Did you
think I was just going to stand by and let you take my kid away? Uh-Uh, No way missy. There’s
no way I’m letting you get away with this. I’ll take this to court.”

Isis lowered her eyes. She was seething with anger.

“Do you actually think the courts will rule in the favor of a man who cheats on his pregnant
girlfriend with a young lady, namely Serenity Wheeler?”

Tristan’s jaw dropped instantly.

“How.....did....”

Isis’s advanced forward and looked up at Tristan wickedly. There was a hint of vindictiveness in
her voice.

“How did I know? Do you play me for a fool, Tristan? Did you really think I wouldn’t hear about
it? I have my ways Tristan Taylor.”

Tristan stared forward at Isis like a deer trapped in the path of a big rig.

“Shit”

He backed up, shaking his head with disbelief.

Just than the phone rang. Isis crossed her arms.

“Well Tristan? Aren’t you going to answer that? It might be your.....girlfriend.”

Tristan made a face at Isis as he picked up the phone.

“Yeah?”

//Dude, you gotta come over right away. It’s bad.// Duke said menacingly.

Tristan cleared his throat.

“Sorry man, no can do. The “itchbay is on the arpathway”

Isis screwed up her face. Pig Latin was something she’d never been taught.

//Oh, sorry to hear that. Still though, I think you really need to see this. Can you stop over later?//

“I’ll see what I can do.”

Tristan hung up the phone and glowered at Isis.

“Don’t think this is over, I’m not letting this go.”

Tristan snatched his keys up off the counter and stomped out the side door. He’d had enough. He
was outta there. He hopped on his motorcycle and tore out of the driveway like a bat out of hell.

Joey walked alone in the darkness of night. He pulled his jacket tightly around him. The
wind was brisk and chilled Joey to the bone. Big flakes of wet snow stuck in Joey’s recalcitrant
blond hair.

oticoticed a small café with it’s lights on and decided to go inside to warm up.

A set of bells jingled as he opened the door to the quaint little café.

He looks around as he shook off the cold. The entire establishment was empty except for a man
sitting alone at the end of the counter drinking coffee. The man looked up and smiled at Joey. He
looked to be in his early 60's, and reminded Joey of a priest.

“Evening son, can I get you something to drink?”

Joey unzipped his jacket and took a seat at the counter.

“Coffee is fine, thank you.”

The man got up and went behind the counter. He picked out a ceramic cup and placed a
matching saucer underneath it. He placed the cup and saucer in front of Joey and filled up the
cup with piping hot coffee.

“Thank you.” Joey nodded as he reached for the sugar container.

The man refilled his own cup and set the coffee back on the warmer.

“So what brings you out on a night like this?”

Joey shrugged his shoulders as he stirred is coffee.

“Nothing really. I needed some air.”

The man laughed as he sat back at the end of the counter.

“Just let me know if you need anything else.”

Joey nodded his head.

The man picked up his news paper and read quietly.

“Um, sir? Could I get some fries too?”

The man looked at Joey over his newspaper and smiled.

“Sure can. I’ll be right back.”

The man walked into the kitchen and emerged a few minutes later with a big basket of french
fries.

“Here you are” he smiled as he set the fries and a bottle of ketchup next to Joey.

>Joe>Joey opened the ketchup and squirted a large amount over his fries.

“Thanks” He nodded with his mouth full of food.

The man sat down and laughed. “My, my, my! Slow down! You’re going to choke, son!”

Joey wiped his mouth with his sleeve as he swallowed his food. He grinned at the man.

“I can’t help it, I’m starving”

The man shook his head.

“Long day?”

Joey nodded.

“Yeah, really long. I took the rap for my friend today and ended up sitting in the slammer. The
food there is too awful to even look at, much less think about eating.”

The man rolled his eyes.

“Yeah, son, I’ve been there before. I spent a good five years of my life locked away”

Joey face registered with curiosity. The man didn’t seem like the prison type, in fact he seemed
rather mild mannered and clean cut.

The man took a sip of his coffee and looked at Joey curiously.

“Why did you take the blame for your friend?”

Joey shrugged his shoulders.

“I don’t know, really. He’s kind of an asshole.”

The man nodded his head.

“Do you care about him?”

Joey paused and thought. Did he actually care about Kaiba? Or was he only with him to fill the
void from Yugi. Joey bit down on his bottom lip.

“Well, not really. It’s more of a convenience thing. He’s got a lot of money, he lets me live at his
place, and all I have to do is sleep with him.”

The man nodded and set down his newspaper.

“So he’s your lover?”

Joey felt mildly uncomfortable. He shifted nervously on his seat.

“I guess he is.” he finally admitted. “But I’m having troubles seeing any kind of love. I saw him
with another guy in his room last night.”

The man listened intently to Joey’s sob story. He seemed genuinely concerned for Joey.

“Son, if this man was cheating on you, why did you take the blame for him?”

Joey sighed.

“I don’t know. Maybe I’m just stupid.”

The man shook his head.

“Now now, you mustn’t say that. You don’t seem stupid to me. You seem more confused.”

Joey nodded.

“Yeah, I’m confused alright. I just don’t know what to do.”

Joey’s conversation lasted late into the night. He really felt comfortable talking to this
man, so he poured out his heart. He told him about Yugi dumping him, Seto cheating on him,
and the way he dealt with it.

He came to a lot of conclusions that night

Joey walked out of the diner feeling like a new person. The snow had stopped, and the sky was
now clear. Joey looked up at the stars and too a deep breath.

He exhaled slowly.

“Yeah Kaiba, you’re gonna be one pissed off hot shot when I get done with you. Heh heh....”

So sorry I haven’t updated in a while.

I’ve had a lot going on, on top of being sick. Just for shits and grins, I’m going to tell that Marik
and Bakura are going to trash a hotel room in the next chapter. Why? Just because.

Oh yeah, Deb- You’re on the right track (about Isis) *wink*
