Chapter 24 – Bustin’ it up on the beach

“Seto, where are we going?” Otogi asked as Seto had a firm hold on his wrist and pulling him through the forest.

“Somewhere away from everything and everyone. A place I saw on the way here that would be perfect for a romantic evening alone.” Seto said, holding a large bundle under his arm.

“Alright, I trust you.” Otogi said, drawing up to Seto’s side and intertwining his fingers with Seto’s. He pressed up to Seto, partially to retain the warmth between them, partially not to lose his guide in the dark as Seto had not wanted to lose his guide during the power outage, but mostly just to be close to the man he adored.

The bushes and little trees become very close together, much as our two oblivious lovers. As Seto led Otogi through the brush, the canopy began to more closely resemble a tunnel of overhanging bush-like foliage, making their world magically turn into oefitefitting a little fairy realm all their own. The sound of small birds scurrying and hopping from branch to branch to get to their nests for a good night’s sleep creating a very peaceful atmosphere.

The tunnel of trees ended suddenly. A small clearing, surrounded in tall trees. The grass was yellow-ish green from the already hot summer days, and it reached up to Seto’s knees as he walked though the area. The blades swayed slightly as a gentle breeze swept through the secluded little area. The breeze was not warm, but it carried no chill either. Moving through the grass, Otogi’s breath got caught in his throat as the green blades suddenly gave way to golden sand and the peaceful lapping of the waves of Lake Phantom. ( >.< )

“Here.” Seto said softly as he moved away from Otogi for a moment with the le ile in his arms. In one fluid motion, he unfurled the bundle out in front of him and onto the sand. There, it sank down to the ground, it being a rather think blanket and purely for their comfort, “I brought a second incase you would feel more comfortable under something, or if it got cold.”

Otogi looked at his love in awe, he slipped off his shoes and crawled onto the blanket, which Seto had conveniently placed under a tall sakura tree. He turned to Seto and beckoned to be joined by his boyfriend. Seto just walked up behind Otogi and whispered in his ear.

“Not just yet, close your eyes, my surprise isn’t over yet.”

Doing as he was told, Otogi nodded and let his eyes drift shut as he heard Seto walking away, back into the forest. But Seto was not about to leave Otogi in the forest. Instead, he went to where he had hidden a basket of stuff in the forest, for just such an occasion.

Digging out the basket, Seto found the first thing he was looking for, a set of large musky vanilla candles, each easily as tall as Yugi. He took them and set them around the area before returning to the basket for some fine wine and crystal glasses, gathering up everything he needed for a delicate dinner for two on the beach. A small bowl containing some chicken caesar salad and some pasties of various kinds were quickly spread out on the blanket before Seto lit all the candles and joined his lover, telling him to finally open his eyes.

And open his eyes he did, only to find Seto sitting in front of him. His form fitting, long sleeved white shirt and light coloured pants pratically glowed in the candle light and the food was meticulously spread beside them. His eyes lit up and he practically pounced on Seto, wrapping his arms firmly around his beloved and burying his face in Seto’s chest.

“Seto, did you do all of this for me?” he asked.

“For my one and only.” Seto replied, prying Otogi off of him and pouring some of the clear ice wine into the two glasses and handing one to Otogi as he got up and sat back down, leaning against the sakura tree.

“But how? How could you have possibly planned that we would be out here. And I was with you the whole time, there is no way you would have been able to know enough to bring all this stuff.” Otogi said, scooting along the blanket to rest in the arms of his koi, sipping casually at his drink. Seto chucked lightly, the very sound of his voice causing Otogi to start to swoon, or maybe it was the alcohol.

“Actually, you’re right, I couldn’t have known tos evs events were going to occur as they did. However, I had planned somehow that I would get you out here. I planted all of this about two hours ago, when I leftcabicabin to leave for the kareoke. I had seen this place briefly while we were driving up yesterday and decided to take a better look while I was making my way over to your cabin last night. I thought it was perfect and then I decided to do something special for you. I just so happened to have packed for just such an occasion to present itself… and get all the candles and alcohol away from Mokuba while I’m gone.” Seto said, watching the blush creep up and attack Otogi’s cheeks with a ferocity he had never seen before.

“Well, it’s beautiful. Thank you, Seto.” Otogi said at last, content to leave the food where it was and cuddle with his lover, staring at the night sky and all its stars.

And the night fell completely a little while later, at Seto’s insisting, Otogi finally let himself eat some of the food Seto had brought. Well, more liet het himself be fed salad by Seto, who made a point of “missing” every now and again, and proceeding to kiss off all the salad dressing from Otogi’s face. Both men relaxed into each other and into more of a lounging position against the tree, the blossoms fell all around them and both men could hear the distant lapping of waves against the sandy shore. Seto was not immune from the war of food, as Otogi saw it fit to lean up and suck on Seto’s neck while his mouth was still full of ice wine, leaving Seto to moan and squirm under the ministrations of Otogi’s tag team.

Once all the food was gone, Otogi finally saw his moment to comment on the newest addition to Seto’s attire. He reached up and plucked the small, elegant eyeglasses right off his koi’s face and started to play with them, examining every square inch of the frames and lenses. However, he was careful not to get anything on the lenses themselves before turning and giving Seto a most playgringrin.

“I didn’t know you wore contacts.” He said, easily resembling a cheshire cat.

“I don’t.” Seto said, snatching the glasses back from Otogi and placing them casualy back on his nose, “I just like the way they look, it makes me feel like an intellectual when I’m too busy to be a tight-assed son of a bitch and would rather do something a little more culturally productive.”

“Well, I like them, they’re sexy.” Otogi said, crawling into Seto’s arms again and falling into the elated haven of his lover’s embrace.

“Glad you think so. You’re the only one.” Seto said, looking into his raven lover’s deep emerald eyes, begging him to explain, “Mokuba has been on my back to get rid of them. He says they make me look too old and that his bitches shouldn’t be wearing them. He keeps telling me that he’s never going to be able to find me decent employment if his whore is wearing glasses.”

Otogi couldn’t help but laugh,

“What is thattle tle twerp thinking? You’re Seto Kaiba! You’re nobody’s bitch… well, maybe mine, but that’s none of your prying little brother’s business, is it?” Otogi said, leaning up and planting a kiss on Seto’s lips, and whacking himself on the frames of Seto’s glasses, “Mind you, I think I have my own reasons for making you ger rid of those…” he said, rubbing his head.

And the evening passed thus, our two lovers exchanging playful banter and affectionate gestures, remarkably, leaving both their clothing intact. They cuddled together under the stars and the falling sakura blossoms until it got too cold, when Seto pulled out the second blanket he had had the foresight to bring along for just such an occasion and wrapped it around them. There, content and satiated, the two men relaxed, until a voice suddenly broke the silence, singing softly so only his companion, and maybe the wind, could hear,

‘Baby's black balloon makes him fly, I almost fell into that hole in your life. And you're not thinking bout tomorrow, cause you were the same as me. But on your knees…’

Seto couldn’t help but look down to the man in his arms, singing so softly, it was almost to himself. He remembered the last time he had heard his lover sing like this and how it had affected him so much, he was willing to do anything for Otogi. He silently wished this song would affect him like that one had.

‘A thousand other boys could never reach you, how could I have been the one? I saw the world spin beneath you, and scatter like ice from the spoon…’

Unconsiously, Seto’s arms tightened around Otogi’s waist as he started to nuzzle into his koi’s neck, the mere sound of his voice calming the CEO to no end. He didn’t even notice as Otogi shook himself out of his perpetual daze and looked at Seto strangely, their gazes meeting and Otogi’s heart melting.

‘And there's no time left for losing, when you stand they fall. Coming down the world turned over, and angels fall without you there, and I go on as you get colder… Or are you someone's prayer?’

Otogi smiled as he began nuzzling Seto’s face with his own, continuing to sing softly, as he could see the effect it was having on his lover. Pulling the blanket more tightly around him and his koi, Seto let his eyes slowly flutter shut as he enjoyed the sound of his lover’s sensual voice, letting everything slide and wishing the two of them were alone in the universe, where he would truly be content. Eager not to disappoint, Otogi smiled again and continued his song, which was nearing its end,

‘Coming down the years turned over, and angels fall without you there. And I'll go on now and lead you home and, all because I'm, all because I'm…’

Reaching up, Otogi slipped his fingers behind Seto’s head and up into the brunette’s silken, meticulous locks. He pulled lightly and brought Seto’s face to within centimetres of his own. He used his free hand to lightly grab the sides of Seto’s glasses and move them from the CEO’s nose to rest comfortably atop his head. He kept moving in closer until every movement of his mouth brushed his lips lightly against Seto’s as he whispered the last line of the song…

‘And I'll become… What you became to me…’

With that, he closed the last little bit of distance between them and pressed his lips firmly to Seto’s. His companion wasted no time in pulling Otogi’s smaller frame closer to his and intensifying the kiss, letting Otogi’s eager tongue pry his mouth open and explore. Seto was content to let his tongue duel with his lover’s while his hands explored the muscles hidden beneath Otogi’s trench coat.

Meanwhile, Otogi squirmed around in Seto’s embrace until he was sitting right on top of Seto’s hips, never letting his lips leave his brunette’s. He wrapped his arms around Seto’s neck, leaving one hand to play in his koi’s hair as it had before. But finally, he had to relinquish his kiss with Seto and pulled away, keeping their lips together until the absolute last second.

“Damn Otogi, you have an amazing voice. Do you have any idea what it does to me?” Seto gasped the moment he could breathe again.

“I’ve got a pretty good idea.” Otogi replied sarcastically, smiling at his boyfriend.

“Well, just don’t ever stop.” Seto said finally, leaning in to kiss Otogi again.

Again, Otogi was more than likely to take the kiss to a higher level as Seto’s eyes drifted shut and Otogi probed his love’s mouth with his tongue. They both lost themselves in the kiss until the two of them heard something rustling in the trees.

And it didn’t sound like the scurrying and hopping of little birds going to their nests to sleep. It
sounded bigger—much bigger and it got the attention of our previously oblivious lovers. Both men pulled away from each other and looked quickly into the trees, to quickly see a flash of purple and blond rush through the green and pink foliage.

“Damnit Yami, can you not leave me alone?” Seto exclaimed though clenched teeth, Otogi only looked at his lover skeptically, almost not believing what just happened. Instead he just set his head on Seto’s shoulder, wrapped his arms around Seto’s waist and relaxed, quickly on his way to sleep.

Getting Otogi’s idea, Seto pulled the blanket up securely around both of them and made sure the man in his lap was comfortable before kissing his boyfriend’s forehead and following him to sleep in the serene peacefulness of the quiet evening. The only sounds other than the steady breathing of Otogi were the odd nocturnal animals and insects, and the lapping of the waves against the shore below…
