That night when everyone was asleep......well not everyone was asleep......
"So....bo...hel.....puh.....mi.....Ya.....mi....." The fient chattering from
Yuugi's dry chaping sickly hot mouth seeped into Yami's ears waking
him slowly. "ACHOO!" watery flem ran from his nose and down his chin.
Yami woke and wiped the fluid off with his hand. He felt more sad than
disqusted by the state Yuugi fell into. "Hhhmph." Yami noticed Yuugi's
little nose was red. He was sure it was sore when he saw a look of pain
on the youth's face. Yami whiped his hand on the filthy dust rag blanket.
"I want you to feel better love, what can I do for you?" Atemu watched
the youth's tiny mouth gasping for air. "I want to help you Yuugi..." His
own eyes teared realizing he might die during the night. "Yuugi.........."
His tears willed away. He neared his mouth to his to feel the breath
weakening........disapearing........."I won't let you die....." Yami said
against the young mouth before breathing into him. As the others were
waking they didn't make themselves known. They watched intensly as
Yami gave his breath to Yuugi. For a few hours before dawn, yuugi could
soon breath on his own.
"cough....Yami...I'm..scared to die....."
"No my love, I won't let you, if you lose your breath again, I will give you mine,
just hold on.....You'll be fine if you can make it till sunrise."
"Stay up with me till I fall asleep."
"I'll do anything you want Yuugi."
"Sing to me...Please.....I want your voice, to sooth me....to let me know I'm still here....and you too..."
"Ok baby, I know what you want to hear." Yami sang a sweet familiar melody, he and Yuugi heard before.
"What is he singing?" Jou asked Seto.
"The Reason."
