Descendants

Jou stood there, holding the three tiny babies, in the dark, in the bedroom he had been sharing in Kaiba’s mansion.
He held the three newborns, who were currently quiet although not sleeping, and looked at the smiling face of Seto who sat in the middle of his bed, staring at him as if he had just dropped out of the sky with wings and a halo.
Seto raised a hand, pointing at the burdens Jou carried, and shaking his head mutely.
Jou looked down at the three babies, and nodded to his lover.
“They are real, aren’t they?” Seto called out quietly. “I wasn’t sure if it was all a very amazing dream.” Jou walked over to the bed, and slid in next to the CEO.
“Real? Yep, they’re real. Or we are still dreaming. You mind taking at least one of um? I’m a little afraid I might drop one any minute.”
Seto reached out and pried the child that was in the most danger, from of Jou’s grasp. It was the first born, and as he looked over the baby, Seto noted that this child had a mop of chestnut brown hair.
“Jou, look. He looks like me?” he said, positioning the baby in his arms. His first son cuddled close and squinted up at him, his eyes barely cracking open as he did. “He’s so tiny.” Seto exclaimed.
“Yeah, speaking of which. We need to do something, right away. Seto, how are we gonna explain this? How do we deal with three babies that just magically appeared at yer house in the middle of the night? No birth certificates, no doctors report, nothing.”
Seto looked up and scowled, “You do realize that I hate it when you are smarter than I am? Not that it comes up often,” he teased. “Okay, first we need a doctor, one who is discreet, and very bribable.” And he nodded to the cell phone on his end table. Jou picked it up in the hand he held the second baby with, and handed it to the brunet.
“Oh, and another thing, Seto. I um, don’t think we got much time before these guys need to be fed, or pee on us. I got no diapers, do you?” Jou added. Seto stared at the baby for a minute and then back at the blond.
“Right. First we get Mokuba over here.” And he dialed the little phone and waited patiently. “Mokuba, we have a big surprise for you. Could you get dressed and come to my room? Yes, I know what time it is. I have a clock. Good, see you in a minute.” And he clicked the phone off, “Now, about that doctor.” And the CEO was rapidly dialing another number. While Seto had been on the line with Mokuba, Jou had gone into the adjoining bathroom and returned with three fluffy towels. After handing one to Seto he wrapped the others around the babies he held.
By the time Seto had arranged for the visit from a doctor and a lawyer, Mokuba was knocking on the door.
“Get in here, quick Mokuba. I have an errand for you to run.” Seto called and the door opened to expose a very mussed looking teenager.
“What is so important that you call me at three in the . . . . .” but the boy's tirade, that would make any Kaiba proud, was cut off by the sight of the two men seated together in the bed, holding the bundled up babies. “Seto, where did they come from?” he asked in a bare whisper as he tiptoed up to the bedside.
“It’s a long, and unbelievable story, and we don’t really have time for it, right now. I need you to make a list and go shopping. There has to be a store around here that is open all night. Get that pad and Jou and I will tell you what to buy. Ready?” he asked as the teen positioned the pen on the pad.
“Diapers, bottles, nipples, formula,” Jou started,
“The kind that is for newborns, and no iron. We also need some pacifiers, and three newborn sleepers, Blue and . . . . Jou! You never told me. What was the third baby?” Seto asked looking up suddenly. Jou turned to him and burst into laughs.
“Ah Kasshoku, it was a boy, too. All three of the babies are boys. They are as different as they can be, but they are all boys.”
“So, I can wait for the long version but you got to tell me. Who had three baby boys and gave them to you two?” Mokuba asked as he folded the paper up and stuffed it into his pocket.
“Your brother had them, Mokie. They are all his. Now, go get the stuff we need for yer nephews, and hurry before they start screamin.” Jou ordered and Mokuba rushed out the door.

By the time the younger Kaiba brother had returned, Jou and Seto had arranged the babies on the bed; between pillows that Jou had collected from nearby bedrooms, and the doctor and lawyer had arrived.
Dr. Hiwatashi was a very old man with thick glasses and a hump on his back. Jou didn’t trust him to actually treat the babies, but all Seto wanted from him was a signature on the forged documents the lawyer, Saratobba-san was currently writing up for him.
The door burst open, and Mokuba came through it with four large bags and two tri-colored, spiky haired young men.
“Look who I found at the front door when I got back,” the teen announced as he deposited the bags next to Jou’s feet and began to peek at the first baby.
“Kaiba-kun, we came as quickly as we could. Everything went smoothly.” Yugi said, as he too began peeking into towel at the second baby.
“This one looks like you, Mokie.” He said, as he tickled the darker haired baby’s chin.
Jou had grabbed the bag and was quickly unwrapping the smallest boy and arranging for some protection from accidents, when Yami came up behind him.
“I see a little of Jou in this one,” he said, causing Seto to look over. “Have you named them, yet?” he asked the two new parents. Jou looked up at his love, and smiled. They had actually spent most of the time while they were waiting talking about just that subject and it was amazing that they had not come to blows. Finally, they had agreed to the names that were even now being typed onto the documentation in Saratobba-san’s laptop.
“We had a little trouble with that at first, Yami. But, here is how it came out. Dat little guy there, with the brown hair, is Taro. He was the first-born son, after all. And the one in Seto’s arms, that has the black hair, is Kenji.” Jou explained.
“And the tiny blond, who by the way, is the only one that has a diaper on, is Yoshiro. Now, give me one of those, before Kenji pees all over me.” Seto said, as he grabbed the diaper from the bag.
Mokuba chuckled and reached into the bag, and pulled out one of the diapers, “I guess I better figure out how to do this. I think we are all going to be pretty busy around here.” He said as he shook it open and began arranging it under Taro’s little behind.
“Kaiba-san? I have the paperwork finished, and I think I have solved the problem of the mother in this case,” the lawyer said, hitting the key to transfer the document to his printer. “I have listed the mother as, Jounouchi Kazuko. It can be leaked out that she is a relation of Jounouchi-san and that is why you have agreed to raise her children. I have listed the father as unknown.” He said, retrieving the documents and handing the copies to the CEO. “This paper is the signed release from Jounouchi-chan giving you complete custody. Will that be acceptable sir?” he asked.
Seto smiled his business smile and nodded to the man. This would cost him a great deal, but it was better than having to do it the legal way and wade through the red tape involved. He was sure that he could get the babies legally but wasn’t sure that the Shadows that helped to create them would get things like DNA correct and wasn’t ready to take a chance with his sons. “That will be perfect, Saratobba-san. I will talk to you next week unless I have any other business come up before then. And thank you, also Dr. Hiwatashi.” And thus dismissed the men left.
Yugi had been unpacking the bags and looking through the things Mokuba had bought. Aside from the small bag of candy, he had figured out how each item would be needed and what to do with them. He took the can of powdered formula and looked up at the others.
“I think I can fix this for the babies, how about me and Yami go get some made up before the babies decide they are hungry?” he said, and Seto nodded quickly.
“Yes, good idea. I don’t know what has been keeping them happy this long.” And the two disappeared out the door.
“Seto, we are going to need a whole lot of stuff for these little guys. I don’t know about you, but I am at a loss.” Jou said, looking down at the babies before him. “I am thrilled by it, and I don’t want ya ta get me wrong, but this was your deepest desire, and I am overwhelmed right now.”
“I have read more about babies than you can imagine, Jou. I think I can figure them out, but are you too overwhelmed to stay?”
“That would be the part about you getting me wrong, okay? I meant I don’t know what to do. I hardly remember when Shizuka was a baby. I never took care of anything under like three years old. And they are so tiny. I ain’t going anywhere, but I am probably gonna be less than helpful, unless you just want a lot of pictures of them.”
“Oh, I want that, too. But, mainly I am going to need you, here. That will be more help than anything else. I am going to have to move my office back home for a while. It will be an adjustment, I am just glad that I have a competent staff at Kaiba Corp. right now. Well, as soon as we get them fed, we are going to need somewhere for them to sleep. Mokuba, empty three of those drawers and line them with those blankets you bought. By the way, good thinking.”
Mokuba smiled at the compliment and followed instructions. Seto had Jou bring him his laptop and they all began a group effort search and study, followed by an online spending spree.
When Yugi and Yami returned with three completely sterilized and filled bottles of formula at the perfect temperature, they had arranged for a noon delivery of three basinets, three car seats, a triplet stroller, and enough new baby stuff to fill a small truck.
Seto took the bottle that Yugi handed him and offered it to Yoshiro, as Mokuba did the same with Taro. Jou took Kenji and waved the bottle before him, trying to get the baby’s attention before feeding him. Kenji was not amused and protested by releasing a blood-curdling scream, which prompted the blond to relinquish his breakfast.
Once fed, the babies drifted off to sleep and were arranged in the three empty drawers for the rest of the morning.
Seto yawned behind his hand, and Yami turned to Yugi when he caught the move.
“I would say this night has been more than enough. You need to sleep and we need to get some things done. We will be happy to help if you need us, just call.” He said, and Yugi added.
“There are three more bottles in the refrigerator downstairs. I’d get a mini fridge up here, if you can. It’s not a good idea to be running up and down those stairs with babies.” Thus said, the two headed out the door. Mokuba repeated his brothers yawn and Jou shook his head.
“Alright, Mokie you get back to bed, and You lay down.” He ordered, pointing at the brunet. “The babies are asleep and we are all gonna take a nap with them.” And he climbed into the bed next to Seto and pulled him close. Mokuba snickered as he headed out the door, and closed it behind him.
It was definitely going to be different around here, now.
It was only a few minutes before Jou felt the tug of sleep on his exhausted mind. He nearly missed the voice of his love that whispered in the dark.
“Thank you. I thought I would never have the chance to be the father of my only love’s children. This is truly a work of magic. And I truly believe in magic.” And Jou looked up to see a solitary tear run down the side of Seto’s face as he closed his eyes and pulled Jou closer.
