Hato does own Mikado and Ahmose, though. *~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~* Chapter 2 *~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~* Marik trotted into the clearing, a rabbit in his mouth. Ryou was sitting by a little fire, boiling some vegetable stew. Marik dropped the rabbit next to him and sat down, wagging his tail. Ryou blinked and smiled, flicking his ears. "Thank you..." he cooed lovingly. "But dont think that's going to get you out of eating the vegetables too." he warned. Marik snorted, changing to his halfway form and taking a knife from one of their packs. He began to butcher the rabbit, cutting small peices of meat and tossing them into the pot. Ryou scooted close and kissed Marik's cheek taking the remaining carrot and offering it to the Zebi Marik had gotten him for their anniversary. He'd named it Confetti, because of the hues of blues and greens in it's hair. Around Ryou’s neck was a collar with a single bell. He'd trained the Zebi to follow the bell, no matter what form he was in.Confetti whinnied softly and took the carrot, chewing calmly, looking thoughtful. Sometimes Ryou had to wonder if the unicorn-zebra was pissed at his girly name. Marik had gotten the thing from Bakura. When Mikado had become an Elite Scout, he talked his lover into making a place for supernatural creatures who were becoming more and more rare. Bakura, with his horse breeding expertise, now also bred these creatures along with Mikado. Many they set free into the wild when they were old enough, but many they kept to preserve the species. Some even went to Yami's realm. This was how Bakura ended up breeding one of his Gypsy Cob mares with a unicorn stallion, getting Mikado his new reincarnation of Geist, and Strigoi as well. Ryou smiled and rubbed Confetti's nose. "He's so pretty..." he said lovingly. "And every time I look at him, I think of you.." he turned back to Marik and kissed him again. "I couldn't have asked for a better anniversary gift." Marik smiled. "Love you, honey." He chuckled, then yelped when the zebi snuffled in his hair and tried to eat it. For some reason, the beast couldn't figure out that Marik's hair was NOT hay. Ryou giggled and tugged Confetti back slightly. "Nooo! Don’t eat his hair!" he giggled loudly hugging Confetti's nose. "It's not hay, you want some celery?" He offered a stalk to the Zebi. The creature accepted it eagerly. Marik smiled and stirred the soup. "I'm hungryyyyyy..." He whined, and Ryou sighed and started to say what he always said when Marik was acting like this. He opened his mouth, but Marik cut him off. "I KNOW!!! 'A watched pot never boils'." Marik recited. Ryou smiled and shook his head. "Then stop watching it!" Marik grumbled and turned, shifting to his wolf form and pacing. Ryou grinned and shifted as well, pouncing on Marik suddenly, tugging his ears. "YIPE!!!" Marik yelped, wriggling around. Ryou's tail was wagging as he tugged Marik's ears, eyes sparkling in mischief. He grinned and switched ears before hopping off and prancing slightly. Marik whirled and pounced with a bark, tackling Ryou and tugging his ears in return. Ryou squeaked and rolled around licking at Marik's face squirming to get away Marik nuzzled him, then changed to his halfway form and rubbed Ryou's belly, tickling him. Ryou squealed at that and changed to his halfway form as well. "Doooont!" Marik laughed. "Awww... why not?" He asked.
"Stop bullying the poor thing." A voice called from above them. Ryou blinked and looked up confused, his ears tilted in his confusion. "huh?" Malik was lounging on a tree limb, smiling. "Really, Ryou. You should have talked to me as soon as the abuse started. I would have put the pooch in his place." Ryou giggled and pulled Marik down, switching back to wolf and squeezing out from beneath his lover and scurrying to pick up his clothes. He was STILL shy in the buff. Marik just gave Malik a look. "Don't call me pooch!!!" Moments later Ryou emerged from the bushes, dressed once more. "I wish you wouldn't sneak up on us like that." he pouted looking up at Malik. "It's not nice!" Malik smiled. "If you bothered to use your elven ears, or EITHER of you your WOLF NOSE, you would have KNOWN I was here!" He taunted. Ryou wrinkled his nose. "Marik's nose is focused on that soup." he said giving Marik a look. "and you're STILL being sneaky." he pouted. "Why the sneaky visit?" he said yawning and walking back to the fire to pet Confetti, who'd been watching them. "A little bird told me you're on your way to visit Mikado and Bakura." Malik said. "Sounds like a fun reunion. Thought I'd tag along." Ryou rolled his eyes. "I still think you guys are lying about that sort of thing." he said shaking his head and sitting back next to the fire. "Come join us for lunch?" Malik smiled. "Sure." He said, dropping to the ground nimbly and walking over. He stirred the soup since Marik had pounced Ryou again. Ryou yelped and giggled squirming. "Marik eek!" he squealed sqiurming.
Confetti snorted and laid down finally, content to rest. Malik turned and looked at the beast. "Take your time. They could be at it for hours." He told Confetti. The Zebi seemed to nod, closing its eyes and deciding it was a FINE time for a nap! *~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~* Bakura awoke to the sound of someone moving about his room. He opened his eyes and saw one of the servants adding more logs onto his fire and stoking up the dying flames. He sat up and stretched. "did Mikado find his way to bed?" he asked after a moment. "Or pass out in a drunken stupor downstairs?" The young man looked up. "I'm not sure, Master." He said. "We haven't seen him, I beleive he's in the cellar." Bakura sighed and nodded. "I'll go check on him." he said standing and dressing. Once he finished, he walked downstairs to check on his childe. Mikado had made his way out of the wine cellar and into the dungeon. He was sprawled out on (of all things) the rack, legs spread, one bent at the knee, the other straight out. One hand was up by his head, and the other was loosely holding the neck of an almost empty bottle and resting on his hip. Two empty bottles lay on the floor, one of them broken. Bakura sighed and shook his head calmly approaching his lover and gathering him in his arms, discarding the half-full BloodWyne. He turned and began carrying his beloved from the cellar. Mikado moaned, turning his head and cuddling into Bakura's chest, a slight smile on his face as he gripped the fabric of Bakura's shirt lightly. Bakura smiled and nuzzled his sleeping lover as he carried him up to his bed. Once he tucked Mikado in, he turned and walked out silently. "Good evening Master." Lillith said, walking up with a long bolt of fabric. "This is one of the samples brought for us to choose from for Master Mikado's dress this year... what do you think?" She asked. The fabric was white, and had a slight shimmer and sparkle to it. "They also brought pink, but we turned that down. Master Mikado would NEVER wear pink!" she giggled. Bakura chuckled. "I like it." he said approvingly. "But I'm not sure white is the appropriate color either..." he looked thoughtful. "Perhaps red..." "We thought something different would be nice. Red ribbons and trim perhaps? Something lacy to make him mad?" She suggested, giggling. Bakura chuckled. "Sure. I look forward to seeing it." Lillith smiled and nodded with a little curtsy. "Shall I begin the fitting then? Though... I could probably do it without the fittings by now!" "Alright, go right ahead." Bakura chuckled. She nodded and headed to Mikado's room. "Oh! He's still asleep?" She looked at Bakura. "He's usually awake so early..." "He was at the BloodWyne again." the elder vampire snorted. Lillith blinked. "Oh... he was... that upset with you?" She asked. "Yes... another temper tantrum." Bakura said rolling his eyes. Lillith sighed. "He drinks when he's depressed, Master." She pointed out. "Thank God he can hold his liquor better than his brother." Bakura gave Lilith a look. "From the way my window looked, it seemed more pissed than depressed." "Does anger not fade into depression, Master?" Lillith asked. "I don’t usually fall into depression when I'm pissed." he said giving her a look. "But perhaps since he's so many hundred years younger he may." Lillith sighed. "You must also consider that he is permanently seventeen. And teenagers ARE prone to depression and insecurity, Master." "Coming from another teenager." he chuckled. "Why don’t you have a talk with him." he turned. "I'll be in my study." She nodded and curtseyed. "Yes Master." And then she turned and headed into Mikado's room. Mikado was still dead asleep, but looked slightly upset (he had ever since Bakura put him down). Lilith sighed and gently shook Mikado awake. "Master Mikado?" Mikado let out a grunting moan, making a face and shifting slightly, but just ended up buried in the pillows even more. Lilith sighed. "Master Mikado wake up." she shook him more. "It's time to wake up." Mikado groaned, then slowly turned his head and began blinking his eyes open, trying to focus on Lillith. "Master Mikado... how are you feeling?" Lilith asked feeling his head. ".... Hrmph..." Mikado grunted, blinking sleepily at her. He tended to be sluggish and lethargic after drinking large amounts. She sighed and helped him sit up. "It's time to get you fitted for your dress." she said slowly. Mikado grumbled. "I'm not in the mood..." He mumbled, rubbing his eye. "Master Mikado..." Lilith sighed and sat on the edge of the bed. "What's troubling you?" "My head..." Mikado muttered, closing his eyes and putting his elbows on his knees. Lilith shook her head. "Master Mikado... why were you drinking like that?" Mikado grumbled again; Lillith was only able to pick up a few words, but they included 'Bakura', 'asshole', 'bastard', 'paperwork' and something about Bakura fucking his own fist for the next year. Lilith giggled and rubbed Mikado's back. "Now you don’t mean any of that." She said softly. "And we both know it... why are you so angry? You know he does so much paperwork, so that he can always be here to give you anything you could ever want." Mikado growled. "He wasn't last night!!!" The boy snapped. She smiled and picked up a brush, combing through Mikado's hair. "You play hard to get too master Mikado." "Yeah, but I give in when Bakura makes it clear that I'm about to take it too far. HE doesn't! He CROSSES the line, and then expects me to just... ARRRRH!!! He's infuriating!!!" Lilith giggled once more. "He loves you deeply...maybe when he does that to you, it's to get back at you for being so stubborn to him all the time." She said smiling. "You are the only one in this whole manor who can get his goat like that." Mikado growled. "He's an ass." Lilith began braiding Mikado's hair. "He's ALWAYS been an ass Mikado." Mikado snorted and grumbled again, but was relaxing as Lillith played with his hair. She and Bakura had learned long ago that playing with Mikado's hair would calm him down whenever he got excited about anything, be it happy excited or angry excited or confused excited. As Bakura put it, it soothed the savage beast (and Mikado promptly smacked him, but calmed down and forgave him when Bakura started running his fingers through Mikado's hair). Lilith smiled. "Feeling a little better?" she offered as she worked. "You know... he's a lot more on his plate than he used to have when he lived alone..." she said softly. "Now he's got other vampires in his home, and the village just beyond the trees... he's looking out for not just you anymore Mikado. Even though he tries to hide it, he cares about the people and vampires around him. You reintroduced love to his life..." Mikado frowned, pouting. "He's ALWAYS working!!! He hardly has time for me anymore!" He whined. "And then HE bitches when I go on a mission for the Vatican and claims that I love my work more than I love him!!! But he does the same thing!" "Well...isn't that how he felt those years when he didn't have this much work, and you were gone?" Lilith reasoned as she braided. "When you left in the beginning...he had nothing but the horses and letters offering for them. He had absolutely nothing and no one to love while you were gone." "But he had my undivided attention when I came back. And I've NEVER missed a Christmas Ball... because I know how upset he would be..." Mikado mumbled, pouting. "But has no room to complain about my not giving him attention because I'm not here... he doesn't give me attention when I AM here!!!" "Well you could always try appealing to his senses." She offered shrugging. "Wear something sexy… maybe have a romantic dinner? You're young and creative and sexy! You can surely come up with a way to seduce master Bakura.." she giggled. Mikado sighed and shrugged. "I guess..." He said, thinking. "Hmmm... can we do the fitting later?" He asked. "Alright." She said finishing his braid. "Just see me when you're ready." Mikado nodded. "Will do..." He said, getting out of bed and digging through his wardrobe. Lillith went downstairs and walked into Bakura's study. Bakura looked up as she entered and raised an eyebrow. "Finished so soon?" She sighed. "I talked to him, Master. He didn't want to do the fitting, wasn't in the mood. He didn't even look at the fabric." Bakura sighed and nodded. "He'll get over it." "He says that when you play hard to get, you take it too far, and then only once you've crossed the line do you give in, and by then it's too late, he's fed up and doesn't even want to SEE you." Lillith said calmly. "He feels bad for leaving you when he's working, but he feels neglected when he comes home." She cocked her head. "Master... perhaps you should try to get as much done as you can when he is working so you can spend more time with him when he comes home." Bakura snorted. "I did not ask for relationship advice." he said giving her a look. "If you cannot get Mikado fitted, then please busy yourself elsewhere." Lillith looked down. "Yes sir." She said, turning and leaving. A few minutes later, Mikado walked by the study.
"I'm going out." He called, not pausing or even looking at Bakura. "Bye." Bakura called back, not looking up from his papers. The door opened and then slammed shut. A couple of hours later, he heard hoofbeats riding out of his personal stable and off down the road. A couple of minutes later, Lillith came in.
"Um... Master?" She asked softly. "Yes?" Bakura said looking up tiredly. She fidgeted. "Umm... Master Mikado has... left." She said softly, knowing Bakura wouldn't be happy. "He got a message from the Vatican, and is on his way to Rome." Bakura was actually stunned. Mikado NEVER left without telling Bakura, especially to the Vatican. He always came in to tell Bakura he was leaving and to kiss him goodbye. He had NEVER left like this before. Bakura frowned but sighed. It wasn't unlogical... Mikado was on bad terms with him, and it wasn't unlike the youth to not talk to him when he was angry. "I see..." he closed his eyes in thought before dipping his quill once more. "Well... then I wish him well." he gave Lilith a look. "Thank you for telling me." She nodded. "I... I have the message he got..." She said, walking over to Bakura and laying it down. The wax seal was broken. "I didn't read it. But he dropped it and ran the moment he saw it. Didn't even bother to change, he just grabbed his uniform and ran... didn't even saddle Geist, he went bareback." Bakura looked over the note and raised an eyebrow. "I see." It was four cryptic words, but Bakura knew why it made Mikado leave in such a hurry.
'The crystal has cracked.' He looked up at Lilith and smiled slightly. "His friend will be reviving from a hundred year sleep soon." he said softly. "That's why he left." Lillith blinked and her eyes widened as she broke into a smile. "Oh, that's wonderful!!!" She cheered, bouncing a bit and clapping her hands. "Otogi will be released? And Pegasus?" "Yes... I'm sure his mood will be much better now." Bakura said smiling and returning to work. "Thank you Lilith, why dont you go relax." "Yes Master!" She said, turning and heading out of the room. But then, she stopped. "Master..." She turned and looked at him. "That means... Seto will be released." The first thing that popped into Bakura's mind was the horrific mental image of a laughing Yami, perched on a large cross with his dying fledgling cruelly nailed to it. "Do not remind me." he growled warningly. "Understood?" Lillith blinked and nodded. "Yes Master... I'm sorry... I'm just worried... what if he attacks Master Mikado?" "Mikado is more than capable of defending himself, plus the entire Vatican is there, as well as Nikolas." Lillith blinked again, then smiled. "Oh! Yes, of course!" She said, turning and skipping from the room. *~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~* Mikado got to the Vatican in record time, pushing Geist to run as fast as he could, and with the unicorn blood in this reincarnation, he was extremely fast. Upon reaching the Vatican, Mikado slid off of Geist and ran for the front door even before Geist slowed to a stop. The animal watched his master disappear into the building, then snorted and turned, heading to the stable. He knew there were apples in there... Nikolas met Mikado in the crystal chamber and looked up. "You're here..." he said smiling. "It's looking like they may well be released... alive. Tonight." Mikado walked right up to the crystal, and sure enough, there was a large crack in it. He ran his fingers over it, hissing and jerking it away and sticking it itno his mouth when it began to bleed. "... We should get my brother here right away." He said, looking at Nikolas. Nikolas nodded. "I agree... but it is difficult to get word to him, when he is in a different realm all together." Mikado nodded. "... There are ways." He said, pulling a red crystal out of the pocket at his belt. He held it out and dropped it. A red smoke rose from the shattered crystal and took the form of a small bird. Mikado looked at it.
"This message is for Ahmose Inarus, Chosen of Prince Atemu." Mikado said to the thing. "The crystal has cracked. Come right away." The bird fluttered a bit, waiting for anything else. "Go." Mikado said, and the bird disappeared in a puff of smoke. Mikado smiled at Nikolas. "He gave me a couple of those in case I needed to get word to him quickly." *~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~* Back in the demon realm, Yami was yowling and pitching a scene. Moments later he burst out of his little classroom/document office, a large chunk of wood hanging from his collar. "NO MORE WORK!" he howled as he ran away.
Moments later a storm of thousands of little ice needles went flying after him.
"SHIT SHIT SHIT SHIT!" Yami yelped grabbing his tail and running faster. Ahmose, who was limping down the hall, blinked as Yami ran past. When he saw the ice needles, he threw his hand out, black fire flaring out and melting them. Yami skidded to a stop after hearing the ice hissing against the fire. "Oh thank you Ahmose!" he said grinning broadly, walking over and hugging his lover eagerly. "You saved me from a very painful acupuncture session." Ahmose sighed. "What are you doing?" He asked, holding up the chain that had a splintered chunk of a desk on it. Whoever was chasing him came around the corner. Yami blinked and yelped scrambling to get away, toppling Ahmose as his mother leapt over the human and put Yami into a headlock. "Ohhhh no you don’t!" she howled grabbing the chain on his collar and tugging him harshly. "You have WORK to do!" Ahmose yelped in pain, grimacing and clutching his ribs. "Honestly! You work him much harder and his brains are going to ooze out of his ears! He doesn't have a good attention span, you know!!!" Both Yami AND his mother glared at Ahmose for that one.
"I have a GREAT attention span!" Yami howled. "Just not for work!"
"Well you'll get a great attention span for work." His mother said tugging his collar harshly once more and leading the prince back down the hall, Yami clawing at door frames as they passed, and trying to dig his heels into the carpeting and get leverage to get away.
"I dont Waaaaannnaaaa!" Ahmose sighed and rolled his eyes, slowly getting to his feet. "This whole realm is against me..." He grumbled, but jumped and yelped when a tiny red bird appeared before him.
"Message for Ahmose Inarus, Chosen of Prince Atemu." The bird chirped.
"I am he." Ahmose said.
"The crystal has cracked. Come right away." The bird said. Ahmose's eyes widened.
"The crystal..." He breathed. "Understood." The bird vanished in a puff of smoke. Ahmose frowned. He had to get to the Vatican right away. But how? Moments later the previous preformance repeated itself. Yami burst down the hall, more ice needles chasing him. "NO NO NO NO I DONT WANNA!" he howled rounding the corner as the ice chase him past Ahmose. Ahmose rolled his eyes. "YAMI!!! Stop acting like a child, I have a headache!!!" He shouted as Nephile came around the corner. Ahmose just looked at her. She growled as she chased him. "You could HELP you know." she sneered disappearing around the corner after her son. "I'm not getting involved in family spats! And thanks to YOU I am in NO condition to be chasing your son around!!!" Ahmose shouted after her. "Bitch." He muttered. Moments later a pained shriek was heard echoing through the palace walls, followed by maniacle laughter...FEMALE maniacle laughter. Ahmose sighed and rolled his eyes, turning and heading towards it. As he headed towards it, Nephile was heading back, dragging her son by his tail, the prince looking like a cactus and whimpering.
"ouch....ouch....ouch..." he pouted.
"Shut up Atemu." Nephile said, her tail striking Yami across the back.
"YIPE!" Ahmose narrowed his eyes and growled, and as she approached him, his hand shot out and grabbed her wrist, eyes glowing. "You will NOT hurt him..." He growled. She gave Ahmose a look. "You will NOT tell me what to do." She said, tail lashing out and striking his side harshly. "I am his mother, and it's MY responsibility to discipline him. Or did you forget that I am his parent? How about you go get your ass pregnant and birth a child. THEN maybe I'll take child-raising tips from you." She sneered and continued on. "If I dont discipline him now while he's young...he'll NEVER learn."
Yami pouted. "Moooooom!" Ahmose yelped and clutched his side, but then grabbed her throat, eyes blazing. "You may be his mother, but I am his Chosen!!! And I will not see him harmed!!! Not even by you!" He eyed her up and down, then sneered. "Isn't that what you wanted from me? A bodyguard who wouldn't allow any harm to come to him?" Her tail struck his side once more. "To protect him from threats outside of his family." Nephile said sternly. "Ahmose, I will respect your duties to Atemu, but I am his mother, I know what's best for him and his training." She said giving him a look. "Have you ever ruled a kingdom or raised a child TO rule a kingdom? Do you HONESTLY think Atemu, how he is now, could EVER handle ruling this kingdom?" "Do you honestly think that hurting him and forcing him will make him want to try harder? You're only making him resent you more than he already does." Ahmose snapped. "If he doesn't learn now, then who will teach him when I am gone?" She said suddenly. "I will NOT live forever, and I cant hold his hand once he steps up to his rightful place as king!" Nephile turned burning eyes on Ahmose. "You. Shut the hell up. I'll raise MY son how I see fit, and if you have a problem with it, then get the hell out of my kingdom." Ahmose glared. "You can't prepare him for everything. You can't FORCE him to be ready. Perhaps he acts like a child because you treat him like a child! Maybe he's not ready because you don't BELEIVE he is! I have faith in him. He will do what is needed, WHEN it is needed. Perhaps what's holding him back is YOUR lack of faith in him." She snorted and proceeded down the hall once more, dragging her son behind her. Yami was blinking looking between the two, the needles having melted during their 'heated' discussion. "I AM NOT A CHILD!" Ahmose glared after them. "Sitting him down and forcing him to work like he's being punished will only aggrivate things. You want him to be responsible? Then give him a REAL responsibility. A responsibility for a PRINCE. NOT a delinquent child." Nephile ignored Ahmose's comments, dragging Yami back into the classroom/document office. Moments later she was heard speaking sternly in demon, before storming out.
Yami pouted, rechained to the desk (which was now missing a hunk of wood) and staring over the massive pile of paperwork. "aww..." Ahmose sighed and headed into the room, walking over to Yami. "So... what is all of this?" He asked, taking the top paper and looking over it. Yami's wings drooped. "Boring shit." he mumbled picking up the previously discarded quill and sighing in resignation, beginning to read over another paper. Ahmose smiled and looked to see what the paper was. The stacks were filled with everything from requests for building permits, merchant taxes, pleas for help from parts of the kingdom that needed more food due to bad crops, requests of alliegance, letters from demon nobles. The whole nine yards. Most of which either required at LEAST a signature, to at most a reply letter.
Yami sighed and began writing. "This is so boring...I hate it." Ahmose smiled and pulled up a chair, sitting down. "I'll help you." He said, and began sorting through the papers, categorizing them by type, and urgency. Yami blinked and smiled leaning over to nuzzle his lover. "What would I do without you?" he purred content to work with Ahmose. Ahmose smiled. "Go insane?" He asked, turning and giving Yami a little peck on the lips. "Oh hey... look... a fan letter!" He said, then grinned. "Oh God... listen to this. 'I have loved you all my life, Prince Atemu. I realize that you have a Chosen, but as he is only human, he will not be here forever. I longingly await that day that I might attain your favor, and perhaps your heart...' Oh God..." Ahmose laughed. Yami blinked and snatched the letter. "Oh heeey!" he puffed up his chest in pride. "Sweet! I have an admirer!" He looked the letter over. "Wonder if him or her is hot..." Ahmose laughed. "May I compose a reply?" He asked, grabbing a sheet of parchment and a quill, already scribbling a reply. "To whom it may concern- It is delightful to hear of your love for Prince Atemu. I hope that your loyalty to his royal highness runs as deep as your passion, as described in your letter. I regret to inform you, however, that I plan to be around for quite a long time. Perhaps you do not know the life span of humans, but I have long outlived it. Such is the affect on humans who drink vampire blood. My condolences, but I will not be leaving my Chosen available. Cordially, Ahmose Inarus." Yami laughed. "Aww... no threesomes?" he nuzzled Ahmose again. "spoil all my wet dreams." Ahmose rolled his eyes. "I'm still not forgiving your for having that dream about a threesome with me and MY BROTHER!!!" Yami rolled his eyes. "...It coulda worked." he mumbled. "NEVER." Ahmose said firmly, going through more papers. Suddenly he gasped. "MY BROTHER!!!! Shit!!!" He jumped up. "I forgot, I have to get to the Vatican right away! Where's Greg?!" Yami blinked flicking his tail. "Out on the river styx." he said confused. "What's the big rush?" "Nevermind, I have to find someone to take me, I can't send myself I may need all my strength, and you KNOW how I collapse whenever I teleport!!!" Ahmose exclaimed. Yami blinked before grinning. "I'll take you!" he said proudly. "Just...um...detatch me from the desk..." "Yami... your mother would kill me." Ahmose said. "Pleeeease?" Yami pleaded. "It's no fun without you! Besides I can come back if it's not important! And if it is, it's your brother! My brother-in-law!" "Your mother would-- YAMI!!!" Ahmose yelped when Yami grabbed his arm, and just teleported them. The next thing Ahmose knew, they were in the middle of a wheat field, still sitting in their chairs at the desk, papers everywhere. Peasants froze, eyes wide.
".... YAMI!!!" Ahmose howled. Yami grinned broadly. "HA. Now you have to take me with! Now detatch me." "... I'm a dead man..." Ahmose groaned. "Can you at least send the DESK back? If these papers blow away... your mother... God..." Yami blinked and whined. "DETATCH ME!" Ahmose sighed and passed his hand over the chain. It retracted to a short length, dangling from Yami's collar. "There. Now send it back!" Yami grinned and placed a hand on the desk, causing it to disappear, followed by the chairs. "Lets go!" he said eagerly. Ahmose sighed. "Is there anyway you can bring Nakhti?" He asked. "It would be faster." Yami sighed. "Sorry... you left him at Bakura's house." he said flicking his tail. "Remember? Greg grabbed us." Ahmose blinked. "DAMN!!! So how are we supposed to get there?!" He sighed and turned, looking at a frightened peasant. "Excuse me... which way to the Vatican?" The peasant squeaked and pointed. "I-it's about a day's walk." she gasped.
Yami grinned. "Ohhh camping! Joy I can cuddle you in the great outdoors! Just like old times!" Ahmose rolled his eyes. "No." He said. "Come on, let's get out of this field." And he led the way to a field that was being left alone that season. He closed his eyes and concentrated. Black flames engulfed him and the blaze grew. Every peasant in the area came running, eyes wide. The blaze filled almost the entire field, before suddenly exploding out and revealing a towering black dragon with a purple belly and golden eyes. The beast turned and looked down at Yami, the head slightly bigger than the demon prince. A familar purple stone glowed slightly from the dragon's forehead. Yami flicked his tail and raised an eyebrow. "You know... you could have just given your human form wings." he said snickering. "Rather than give a big show to these poor people and scaring them half to death." Ahmose blinked a great eye as big as Yami's head (including the hair) and looked at the peasants. They were running in a panic, screaming. Ahmose let out a rumble, then looked down at Yami and lowered his head again, letting out a more gentle rumbling croon, waiting for Yami to hop on. Yami smiled and nuzzled the dragon slightly, before climbing on and stroking the scales beneath him. "Comfy." Ahmose crooned again, raising his head and opening his wings. Yami felt him gathering himself, and then he launched himself into the air with a great leap, and with a few sweeps of his wings he was aloft and gliding over the trees and then over the hills, looking down at the spectacular views of vineyards on the hill sides. Yami smiled and his tail curled contently flicking from side to side like a lazy cat. "So... I wonder if it's beastiality..." he said thoughtfully. Ahmose let out a warning growl, catching an updraft and climbing higher, his speed increasing. Every now and then, he would beat his wings a few times to give himself a burst of speed, and then would glide. Yami smiled and curled up contently on Ahmose's back between his shoulders, yawning. "Hmm..." Within moments he was snoozing on his lover's back. Yami never could ride on flying creatures... a trait he carried with him since childhood... his mother had always flown with him when he cried. Just as it had growing up, it STILL put Yami into a peaceful slumber. He didn't sleep long, however. In only an hour and a half he was woken by a sudden descent and Ahmose belching flames. The Vatican was in sight. But poor Ahmose and Yami didn't realize that they had been spotted and had caused panic in the Vatican where the Knights, the Elite Agents dealing with dragons, were being mustered to battle the attacking beast. Yami shook his head waking and looking rumpled. "hnn..." he stretched and yawned once more. "Here already?" he looked down. "Oh wow... I forgot... these people like to kill me." Ahmose gave a purring noise, belching fire again as he circled down to the courtyard, seemingly unconcerned with the gathering Knights. Once they landed Yami climbed off of Ahmose and looked at the Agents warily. "Don’t kill us!" he called.
Some of the agents looked at one another, while others glared harshly at the demon and its dragon. Ahmose cocked his head, furling his wings, and a moment later he burst into flames. The flames burned out almost immediately, and Ahmose was standing there, adjusting his clothes. A few of the agents drew closer suspiciously. "State your business." one said warily. "We do not allow demons in the holy city...." Another said glaring at Yami.
Yami's wings drooped. "I better not die again..." Ahmose glared. "I am Ahmose Inarus. I am Mikado's brother. He told me to come right away. And this is Prince Atemu. We are friends of the Vatican. Nikolas will vouch for us." The agents slowly lowered their weapons and Nikolas burst out. "Ahmose! There you are!" he called eagerly. "Come quickly!"
Yami perked up, seeing that he was actually going to NOT die at the hands of the Vatican. "Oh let’s go! I bet this'll be interesting!" Ahmose sighed. "It had BETTER be!" He said as they walked past all the Knights. "When your mother finds out we're gone, she's gonna KILL me!!!" Yami walked with Ahmose, leaning over to kiss him. "I'll cover for you." he said lovingly. "Don’t worry!" Ahmose sighed. "I doubt that will save me." He said, and followed Nikolas down to where the crystal was. Mikado turned.
"About damn time!!!" He exclaimed. "What took so long?!" Yami grinned. "Hi Mikado. Ahmose didn't want me to bring him... that's what kept us." he said giving Ahmose a look. "He thinks we'll get in trouble." "We WILL!!!" Ahmose insisted, and Mikado just blinked.
"... What HAPPENED to you?!"
"I got in trouble." Ahmose snorted. "He was fighting with mom and Azazel." Yami corrected. "And they kicked his ass."
Nikolas cleared his throat. "Pleasantries later..." he motioned to the crack in the crystal. "Look." Ahmose gave Yami a look, then turned and made his way to the crystal. "Hmmmm..." Ahmose mused, running a hand over it. "... It used to be warm... it's... cool." "So they're done baking?" Yami said blinking. "I’m not familiar with human magics..." he offered when Mikado and Nikolas gave him odd looks.
"The magic has weakened and is wearing off." Nikolas corrected. "Yes... the spell has run its course." Ahmose said. "The crystal is deteriorating. I don't know how long it will be before it--" He was cut off as another crack suddenly branched off from the first, and a couple of chips of the crystal fell to the floor. "... I don't know how long it will take to break open, but... soon."
"Will they be alive?" Mikado asked.
"Yes." Ahmose said. "They have been perfectly preserved. Now I can kill Seto."
"NO!" Mikado yelped, smacking his brother. Yami growled. "If he doesn't kill Seto I will." he hissed bearing his teeth. "That fucker is responsible for SO much evil..." Mikado smacked Yami this time. "No! BAD demon! BAD!!!" Yami blinked a few times. "...did you just scold me like a dog?" he said in shock. "What the hell man?! Do I look like a PET to you?!" he screeched.
The crystal cracked severely at that. Mikado blinked, then snickered. "Jeeze Yami... look what your screeches do..." Ahmose chuckled.
"He takes after his mother." He said. Yami's tail whipped across Ahmose's sore side. "You shut up! I'm NOT a pet, and I'm NOT like my mom!" he growled eyes flashing red.
Nikolas chuckled. "Stop teasing the little demon."
"I'M NOT LITTLE!" Ahmose and Mikado blinked, then burst out laughing. Ahmose hugged Yami and kissed his cheek. "I love you..." Yami whined giving Ahmose a pout. "I'm not little!" he argued with no one imparticular. "This is not fair... you're all making fun of me! I can’t help my height!" Ahmose smiled and ruffled Yami's hair. "You're cute." Yami whined again "Ahmooooose! This isn't fair!"
The crystal cracked further. Ahmose cocked his head. "Why?" He asked, arm around Yami. Mikado was watching the crystal, eagerly. "I'm a prince! You're supposed to back me up! You're just laughing at me too!" Yami pouted. Ahmose just chuckled and shook his head. "Calm down..." He said, pulling Yami to the back of the room and sitting down, watching Mikado pace restlessly before the crystal. Yami sighed, drooping. Though now that his screeching had stopped, the cracking of the crystal had slowed a great deal. Mikado frowned and ran a hand over the thing, then rapped on it sharply. The crystal began cracking under Mikado's hand before suddenly beginning to glow softly. The crystal began to vibrate and rattle before the glow brightened. It shattered suddenly and the four trapped beings within fell to the floor, passed out still in the pre-waking stages of their hundred year sleep.
