Shadow Yami {Completed}

Onto Chapter 1

Yugi Motou a 17 year old college student sat bored out of his mind in class, however he didn’t want it to end too soon not after what he’d read on a note that had flown across the room and landed in front of him, the usual school bullies had planned to meet him down near the alley by the school, this was where they would force him to do their homework, steal any money he had on him and if Yugi refused to obey them he would be severely beaten. Yugi gulped remembering what happened last time he’d been beaten so badly he’d almost ended up with a broken rib.

The dreading ring of the bell to end class sounded and Yugi stood up picking up his books and putting them in his bag, he met with his friends Joey, Tea and Tristan, Joey turned to face him “Hiya Yuge we’re gonna head round to the shop you want to join?” Yugi shook his head sadly “I’m sorry guys I have somewhere I need to go,” and without saying anything more Yugi hurried off, these bullies did not like to be kept waiting. Yugi turned down into the alley and saw the bullies already there waiting, they crowded round like vultures ready to picked off him, the leader spoke to Yugi doing the usual demanding of homework, Yugi plucked up courage and refused but when he saw their fists coming for him he turned and fled, shouts and threats could be heard behind him as well as a number of footsteps, Yugi knew they were after him and once he was caught there was no knowing of what they would do.

Yugi was so busy in his thoughts he bumped into something, or someone and only realised after he’d fallen back and landed on his bottom shaking his head and blinked looking up, his breath hitched seeing the figure in front of him, it was the neko, the neko’s intensive crimson eyes locked onto Yugi’s amethyst, it tilted its head its black ears twitching staring curiously at Yugi then the crimson eyes blinked and looked up seeing Yugi’s chasers catching up, Yugi turned seeing them and scrabbled to his feet, he didn’t know what this person was but saw it as friendly seeing as it hadn’t attacked him and he hid behind the figure like a frightened child, the neko blinked looking back down at him then understood as the bullies approached “Excuse me,” said the leader “Kindly step aside as we have some unfinished business with the person who is behind you,” the neko just blinked and didn’t budge the leader grew annoyed “I said stand aside,” the neko still didn’t budge, the leader gave the neko no more chances and swung his fist going for a punch, Yugi was about to say ‘look out’ but found himself opened jawed as the neko grabbed the leader’s fist in its paw, the neko’s fingernails were long claws which scraped over the back of the leader’s fist, the neko having just seen he’d been threatened physically decided to show it was not to be messed with, the paw holding the leader’s fist shifted suddenly grabbing them by the wrist and twisted it sharply, a sickening crack was heard as the leader cried out in pain holding their now broken wrist and had stepped backwards.

Yugi stared in amazement, this neko was protecting him, or so he thought, he watched as the neko broke the leader’s wrist and pushed them away, Yugi squeaked when he saw the leader go for the neko again but watched as the neko swung its paws and slashed with them, the leader staggered backwards again their cheek bleeding with four long cuts, the neko saw this chance to escape it turned grabbed Yugi by the hand and ran down the alley with him, Yugi surprised by what was happening followed, he was lead down a number of alleys and was glad when they lost the bullies, he breathed a sigh of relief leaning back against the wall panting as he caught his breath then he blinked seeing the neko watching him, “Why were they chasing you?” it asked, Yugi shivered a little, the voice was deep and silky smooth with an Egyptian accent, “They wanted me to do things like their homework and take my money and if I refuse them they beat me up, I refused and ran off which was why they were after me,” Yugi shivered again when he heard a low growl come from the neko followed by “Those pathetic humans,” Yugi took the time to study the neko’s features, it was tall and had hair similar to his own only with a few more bangs, its face was more angular than his own but he was drawn to those crimson eyes, “Who are you,” Yugi asked shyly after a moment, the neko who had been taking in Yugi’s feature blinked then answered “I am called Shadow Yami, but call me Yami for short,” Yugi nodded “Thank you for helping me Yami,” Yami nodded “That’s fine but what is your name may I ask?” Yugi looked back at him “I’m Yugi Motou but call me Yugi,” he offered his hand for Yami to shake “Honoured to meet you Yugi,” Yami said as he took the offered hand and shook it.
