Chapter 2
Joey finally arrived back at his school he ran up to the front doors of the school. Unfortunately the doors where locked “now what” Joey said to himself. He went around the school building but all the doors where locked. He would have to wait until the next day to find his journal he just hopped no one found it before him. He decided to head home knowing he couldn’t do anything now. Joey was disappointed and really worried at the same time he wasn’t sure what he was going to do if someone found out.
The next day came quite quickly and Joey had arrived 10 minutes earlier than usual. He just had to find his book no matter what. He walked into the classroom and the only other person their was Kaiba. He had always arrived at school at least 15 or 10 minutes earlier than everyone else. Joey had no idea why because he never did, but he had to today because is was urgent. Kaiba was sitting at his desk watching Joey look for something and he knew exactly what Joey was looking for.
“Lost something mutt” he asked Joey just wanting to play around with him for a bit. “I left a book here yesterday but it is none of your business Kaiba” Joey said back still looking. “I might be able to help” Kaiba then said. Joey stopped what he was doing and looked up at Kaiba “you want to help me that’s a laugh but no thanks” Joey said back. “Very well then I guess your journal isn’t that important” Kaiba straight out and said. Joey froze ‘how does he know that I have a journal, wait no could it be possible could Kaiba had found it and read it’ Joey thought to himself. “My you look rather anxious their mutt” Kaiba said with a smirk on his face. Joey turned around to face Kaiba.
“You have my journal don’t you” Joey said “and why do you think that” Kaiba asked him mocking Joey. “Don’t play dumb with me Kaiba their was no way you knew that I had a journal so cough it up” Joey told him with an angry look on his face. “Tell me why should I give it to you” Kaiba asked him. “Because you ass it belongs to me” Joey said to him “oh I get it you just don’t want anyone to know your little secret” Kaiba replied. Joey knew it Kaiba had read his journal. Joey just looked at Kaiba why Kaiba looked straight back at him with a smile on his face. “Yes I read your journal and I was a bit surprised what it said inside you being gay well that was a surprise to me” Kaiba told Joey.
“Well now that you know can I have it back now” Joey asked him trying not to get angry at Kaiba. Even though he really wanted to punch Kaiba to wipe that smirk of his face. “Unfortunately before I give it back I want yo to do something for me” Kaiba then said to Joey. “And what might that be” Joey asked him “come to my house at 4:30 pm on the dot and no later, this is my address” Kaiba said and handed him a card which had his address on. “And why should I do as you say you dick head” Joey asked him. “Because if you don’t I will tell everyone you know your little secret” Kaiba replied. Joey frowned Kaiba was really starting to piss him of now. “Fine” Joey replied he took the card and headed back over to his desk when all the other students arrived.
The day had rolled past and all the students where happy because they where now on holiday. “Say Joey where going over to Yugi’s place you coming” Tristan asked Joey. “Sorry dude but I cant I have to go somewhere” Joey told him. “Well ok I’ll call ya tomorrow then” Tristan replied as he and the others walked out of the classroom. Joey had packed all his stuff away in his bag and also left.
He soon got home “dad I’m home” he called out but he got no answer, he then saw a note on the table. He picked it up and read it.
Dear Joey,
I have been called to go to New York for a few weeks for work, sorry for not telling you in person but it quickly came up. I have left some money for you in the kitchen it is all in a small envelope. Don’t spend it all at once, I will see you when I get back I hope for you to behave and no parties.
From Dad
“Well that was sudden but I guess having the house to myself wont be all that bad” Joey told himself. He went into the kitchen and saw the envelope on the bed, he opened it up and inside was $100. “I guess I better be careful when I spend it” Joey then said, he headed to his bedroom taking the envelope full of money with him. He placed the money in his desk for safe keeping at the moment. He decided to get into something more comfortable because he had been in his school uniform all day. He put on some blue daggy jeans and a white top which hanged over his pants. He looked at the alarm clock in his room it was already 4:10pm he only had 20 minutes until he had to be at Kaiba’s house.
“Man this sucks the last place that I would ever want to be at would be Kaiba’s place” Joey said to himself. Since their wasn’t anyone around he just seemed to always talk to himself. Joey grabbed a packet of chips from the cupboard and quickly ate them because he was hungry. Once he finished them he grabbed the small card with Kaiba’s address and then left the house locking the door behind him. He looked at the card to read the address “oh great this suburb is at least 10 minutes away and I only have 13 minutes left I knew I should have left earlier” Joey told himself. He saw a taxi coming down his street “its my lucky day” he said. Joey ran out onto the road “STOOPPP” he yelled.
The taxi cab stopped only mere inches away from Joey “hey you stupid kid you want to get run over or what” the taxi driver yelled at Joey. “I need you to take me here” Joey showed the driver the address. “Get in” the driver told Joey, so he hopped into the back seat and the car drove of. He only had 8 minutes left, luckily the traffic wasn’t bad he had finally reached Kaiba’s house and only had 1 minute to spare. He paid the cab driver and walked up to the front door, Joey couldn’t believe how huge the house was. “I knew Kaiba was rich but hell look at this house its huge” Joey said to himself. He knocked on the door and seconds later someone opened it, their standing in front of Joey was some old guy wearing a black suit.
“Sorry but we don’t give beggars food” he told Joey, Joey frowned “what I’m no beggar gramps Kaiba wanted to see me” Joey told him with an angry tune in his voice. “I see please wait here” he told Joey then shut the door on him. “What nerve he could have least aloud me to come inside and wait instead of standing out here” Joey said annoyed. The door then opened again and it was the same man as before. “My apologies sir please come in Master Kaiba has been expecting you” the guy told Joey.
Joey walked in and couldn’t believe how huge the inside was it was as if he was at the mall. “Wow” Joey said “yes wow indeed” the old man said back then walking away. “So you found the place my I am surprised” Kaiba said from on top of the stairs. Joey watched Kaiba walk down the stairs until he was only two steps from the floor. “Follow me mutt” Kaiba told him and started to head up the stairs again Joey following not to far behind him. Joey was not sure what to expect from Kaiba and to tell the truth he was not looking forward to it.
