Summary: After ten years someone comes home looking for love.
Chapter 2
Jounochi sat outside the restaurant waiting for Seto to arrive. He wanted him to get there first. He wanted to see how he looked. Jou was scared; he knew if this didn’t go well he wouldn’t be staying in Domino or maybe Japan. This was a big gamble for him and he had a right to be scared. When he had found out a few months ago he started to plan what he was going to do to make this right. Not only for himself but for Seto as well, he loved the man very much. When he found out that Seto loved him as well he had been in a world all his own. His sister had become worried and had confronted him about it.
FLASHBACK
Shizuka looked at her brother with concern “Jou what is going on with you? Its like you’re not even here half the time.” She was upset and concerned about her brother and she wanted answers.
Jou looked at her and sighed. “Look sis I’ve just got a lot on my mind.” Jou stated.
She looked at him and shook her head “It doesn’t have anything to do with a certain phone call does it?”
When Shizuka asked this Jou turned red “What makes you say that?” turning away so she wouldn’t see him blush.
Shizuka kept at it, “I’ve known for a long time how you felt about him. Why didn’t you ever tell him?”
Jou looked at anything he could find before replying. “I just recently found out he liked me. I always thought he hated me. I tried to forget about him but I couldn’t. I love him too much. When Mokuba told me how he felt I just about passed out.” At this point he walked away needing to be alone.
END FLASHBACK
Shizuka helped set up everything right down to the restaurant that Jou was sitting in front of at that moment. He was scared and was about to leave when he saw Seto pull up. As Seto got out of the car he looked breath taking. He handed the keys to the valet and he heard him state “One scratch and it is your job.” Jou laughed at this. Some things never change.
Jou paid the cab driver and got out. He hoped that if things went right tonight Seto would take him back to the hotel or even his place.
He walked into the restaurant and the Maitre d’ looked at him “Yes can I help you?”
Jou looked at him “I’m with the Kaiba party.” The Maitre d’ had Jou follow him to a private dining area then left. Jou looked around the restaurant while a man led him to a private room. He closed the door behind him.
Seto didn’t hear the door open or close as his back was turned and he was looking out onto a private terrace connected to the dining area. Jou stood there looking at the man of his dreams. Seto was dressed in a casual light blue button down shirt and black pants. To Jou he was a sight of pure elegance. Seto felt someone watching him and thought it was the waiter with dinner. As he turned his mouth dropped opened and his eyes became wide in shock. He thought he was dreaming standing in front of him was his secret love Jounochi Katsuya. He was at a loss for words.
Jou smiled, he knew that Seto would be surprised but not shocked speechless. “Hi, long time no see. Are you glad to see me? If not I can leave.” Jou said.
Seto came out of it and pulled himself together. “Jounochi when did you get back? I’m supposed to be meeting someone tonight.”
Jou laughed softly “Kaiba haven’t you figured it out yet? I sent you the painting; and I sent you the book and invitation.”
Seto scoffed “You?” How can you afford a place like this?”
Jou sighed “I’m a successful artist and writer now. I have more money than I know what to do with. I also own stock in your company as well.”
As Seto listened to all of this he suddenly remembered of hearing about Jou through Mokuba. “Are you the artist that painted that portrait for me?”
Jou nodded his head. “Yea and there is two matching ones back at the hotel where I am staying at.”
On hearing this Seto raised an eyebrow at him; before he could ask about them dinner was brought in. Seto was amazed; all his favorite foods where there. He looked at Jou questioningly. “How did you know what I liked?”
Jou looked at him and smiled “I know a lot about you. As for the paintings you are going to have to come by the hotel to see them.”
Seto smiled at this “What if I wasn’t glad to see you, what would you have done with them?”
Jou started to eat “I would have given them to Mokuba and left Japan. I’m not even sure I would have come back.” He said sadly.
Seto sighed “Jou I’m glad to see you and I would like to see the other paintings as well, after all they are a gift to me right?”
Jou smiled and laughed “Yes they are a gift for you.”
They spent the rest of their meal talking and catching up and getting to know each other again. Seto looked at his watch and noticed the time. “It’s getting late and I have to be getting home. Do you need a ride?”
Jou said “Yes and do you have time to come up to see the paintings?” Jou was taking a big chance on this. He didn’t want to scare Seto away.
“Yes I would love to see the paintings.” Replied Seto
The drive back to the hotel was done in silence with each one taking a glance at the other one. Neither wanting to admit how they felt for each other. Seto pulled into the hotel parking garage and they went straight up to Jou’s room. While Jou got out the paintings Seto looked out at the view of Domino and smiled ‘Things where about to change and change for the better.’
“Well here they are.” Jou said pulling Seto out of his thoughts.
When he saw the paintings he couldn’t believe it, one was like his which had a Blue-Eyes White Dragon and him. There was a portrait of Red Eyes Black Dragon and Jou. The other one was of both dragons in a tender embrace with both him and Jou beneath them in a mirror image of the dragons. “Jou these are stunning.” Seto was at a loss for words for the second time that night.
Jou smiled “Thanks Seto I’m glad you like them.” Jou was taking a chance of using his first name but he wanted to let him know how he felt.
Seto looked up when he heard his name being said by his secret love and it was all he could do to control himself. So Seto took a chance himself and as he walked over to Jou he touched his face and pulled him into his arms and kissed him.
