Contemplation
Chapter 2: Contemplation
Joey couldn’t believe what Kaiba was asking! Joey had never done anything intimate before, much less that. He wouldn’t even know where to begin, and who would he even talk to about this deal?
He tossed and turned in his bed, sweat breaking out all over his body. He couldn’t sleep even if he had taken a whole bottle of sleeping pills. Kaiba’s proposition had him reeling. That’s what Kaiba wanted. He did want that swords of light card, but he didn’t want to have to part with his virginity over it, especially to Seto Kaiba.
Joey turned over and looked at his clock it was ten o’clock in the morning, so that meant he had been tossing and turning for eight hours, thinking about Kaiba’s proposal. He decided to get up and take a sr, mr, maybe that would clear his head a little.
The water in the shower was nice and hot, and he let the water slowly cascade over his slim, muscular body. He smoothed his hair away from his face and rested his head on the side wall.
“Maybe what he’s asking doesn’t mean sex,” Joey said to himself. “Maybe it’s just one night of touching. I could deal with that, but this is Kaiba we’re talking about. But why would he want me? He can have anyone he wants.” Then Joey closed his eyes and began to think about all the things that the night could entail. He saw Kaiba’s hands roaming over his body, his mouth kissing him; then Kaiba’s hands went down his pants. Joey’s eyes snapped open and he looked down and saw that he was hard as a rock. He frowned and turned the water on cold. He did not want images of Kaiba triggering anything down below.
He stepped out of the shower and dried his hair; then looked in the mirror.
“I want that card,” Joey whispered. “But I might feel so bad if I take it the way he wants me to.” Joey had to admit that he was very curious about what Kaiba had to offer.
“Am I the everything that he’s missing?” Joey asked. “Nah, I shouldn’t tell myself that and inflate my ego. After all, I don’t like men, do I?”
Joey gressressed and went downstairs, Tristan was already sitting at the table waiting for him, eating some cereal.
“Hey Joey,” Tristan said. “Looks like you had a rough night.”
“Yeah, definitely. It wasn’t one of my better.”
“Something wrong?”
“No, I’m alright. Just a lot of stuff on my mind. I’m kind of nervous about this new tournament coming up and all. Thsh psh prize for the winner would more than cover my sister’s hospital stay and her operation. I’m just nervous that if I don’t win she’ll be sitting in that bed another three months,” Joey said.
“Yeah, I can understand that,” Tristan said. “Well, after you eat are you ready to go meet Yugi and Tea?”
“Yeah, sure. I’ll be ready.”
Tristan and Joey took the tram down to the city square to meet Tea and Yugi. He didn’t know if he should ask Yugi about what to do, because he almost knew that he would say. Yugi was so forthright and honest, but he had shown moments of weakness when he played. Sometimes the spirit of the puzzle would make him do relentless and merciless things. Maybe Yugi or Yami would understand what Joey was asking and tell him the right answer.
Joey spotted Yugi and Tea almost right away when he and Tristan got off of the tram.
“Hi guys!” Joey said.
“Hey, Joey,” Tea said. “You look beat.”
“Yeah, didn’t sleep so well last night,” Joey replied.
“Why?” Yugi asked.
“Nervousness over this next duel,” Joey said.
“I see,” Yugi said. Joey leaned over to whisper something into Yugi’s ear.
“I need to talk to you a little later, it’s really important,” Joey said.
“Sure,” Yugi said.
They walked over to the card trader shop together. The swords of light card was for sale, but when Joey saw the price, he knew he couldn’t afford it. Joey stood looking at it in the window.
“You really want that card, huh?” Tea said patting Joey’s back.
“Yeah, the things I’d do to get it,” Joey said. But then he realized what he just said, that he would do anything. But would he? Kaiba still had that card and he was asking for something well worth more than five hundred dollars. He was asking for virginity, the shot to put his hands on Joey in any way that he pleased. Joey clinched his teeth and swallowed hard; then he began to shake. He didn’t realize that Kaiba had him that wound up inside.
“Joey, are you alright?” Yugi said. “Do you want to have that talk now?”
“Yeah, I think I do.”
“Guys, we’re going to go off and talk,” Yugi said to Tea and Tristan.
“Okay,” Tristan said.
Joey and Yugi walked off into the park and sat by the fountain. Joey began to run his hands up and down his thighs nervously.
“If there was a card that you wanted more than anything would you do anything to get it?” Joey asked.
“Depends on what has to be done.”
“I knew you’d say that.”
“Well, what do you have to do? Is it something that you’d regret doing.”
“I don’t know yet. The person made an interesting deal and I’ve mulled it over in my head a bunch of times.”
“Your first instinct is usually the right one,” Yugi said.
“So, you’re saying I should do it?”
“I’m not saying that, but how would you feel after you did it?”
“I told you, I don’t know.”
“Can you come to some other terms with this person?”
“I doubt it.”
“Is it worth it?”
“I think so, this card would cement my victory and win the money for my sister.”
“How much do you love your sister?”
“So much that I would do this for her.”
“Then that answers your question.”
“Thanks, Yug,” Joey said. “I knew you’d help.” Joey stood and patted Yugi on the back.
“Yugi has no idea,” Joey said. “But he’s right. I love my sister enough to do this.”
