Chapter Two

Show Me Your Colours 02

// Hikari... //

// MARIK! // Malik smiled, closing his eyes to concentrate, // Ra, why'd you take so long to finally contact me?! //

// Sorry, // Marik snickered, // Bakura and I have been very,,, BUSY, these past few days... //

// Busy my ass, // Malik laughed, // Busy fucking each other's brains out, you mean? //

// Basically, // Marik laughed, // So tell me, how's things going with getting the God Cards? //

// Fairly well, // Malik replied, lying back on his bed, // So when am I gonna get to meet this infamous Bakura? //

// Whenever we get home, // Marik told him, // Should be a few days now. We're still looking around our old home town and stuff, you know. //

// Alright, I do miss you, // Malik said softly, // It really sucks doing this by myself. //

// I know, I'll be home soon, hikari, // Marik reassured him.

// No, you guys take as long as you need, // Malik smiled, // You and Bakura haven't seen each other in over 3,000 years! You guys deserve time together. //

*~*~*~*

Ryou climbed out of the shower, drying his hair off as best he could with a towel, another one tied around his waist tightly. He dressed quickly, pulling on faded jeans and an over-sized cream colored sweater. He made his way into the living room, looking at the clock.

'11:55... Namu should be here soon,' Ryou smiled to himself, not fully understanding why he was so eager to see him. Because you love him, that little voice reminded him.

'I love him...' Ryou thought, a smiled slowly spreading across his lips, 'That sounds about right.'

Ryou headed into the kitchen, turning off the stove and taking out the lunch he'd made; an old English macaroni dish his Grandmother showed him how to make. Living alone, or even with Bakura usually meant Ryou had to cook, but he didn't mind, he loved cooking and make wonderful meals.

Ryou set the dish down on the stove to cool down, taking off the oven mitts and putting them back in their respective cabinet. Ryou jumped when he heard the doorbell ring, his heart rate speeding up. He rubbed his hands together nervously, before heading to get the door. He smiled when he opened it. "Namu! Hi!"

Malik smiled, lavender eyes twinkling almost mischievously, "Hey Ryou," he smiled, "I'm not late, I hope?"

"Not at all!" Ryou blushed, "Please, come in. Make yourself at home."

Malik nodded, smiling and following Ryou inside, closing the door behind him, before toeing his shoes off and following Ryou into the living room. "I made some lunch," Ryou smiled, "Hope you're hungry."

"Mmm.. what is this?" Malik asked, "It's amazing!"

Ryou blushed at the compliment, "It's an old English thing; my Grandmother used to teach me how to cook, and well... I just kinda like to cook," he flushed more. Malik smiled, "We'll, it's amazing, as I said," he grinned.

"Arigato," Ryou smiled softly, still blushing, "What would you like to do after lunch?"

"Well, I was hoping you'd let me take you to the movies," Malik smiled, "There's a couple interesting ones playing, like 'One Missed Call' and-"

"Oh! I've been DYING to see that one!" Ryou all but squealed, smiling widely. Malik smiled back, "Well then, would you be interested in going to see it with me?"

"A-Are you asking me on... a date?" Ryou blushed, then slapped himself mentally. 'Gods, what if he only meant it as friends?! Great, he's gonna smack me and leave now, or something..'

"Maybe," Malik smiled, teasingly, "Alright, yes. I'm asking you on a date. And if I don't ask this now, I might not get up the nerve to again, but, would you maybe.. want to be... my... boyfriend?" Now was Malik's turn to blush.

Ryou blushed madly, cursing his ability to blush over the smallest things. "I... well, yes. I would. I'd love to."

"Awesome," Malik said softly, mostly to himself, before meeting Ryou's gaze, both of them laughing. "Awesome?" Ryou giggled, nudging him gently, "Smooth one Namu.."

"Thanks, I try," Malik giggled also, "So, how about we clean this mess us and get going? The movie starts at 3..."

"You had this all planned out, didn't you?" Ryou giggled, "So planned out that you even know when the movie is playing. I'm impressed."

"Hey, I aim to please," Malik smirked proudly.

Ryou stood by the concessions stand while Malik got their tickets, looking over the choices. He jumped as he felt an arm slide around his waist, but relaxed when he saw who it was. "Sorry," Malik appologized, "Didn't mean to scare you..."

"You didn't scare me," Ryou huffed playfully, "Just... startled me, is all. Anyways, since you bought tickets, I'm buying drinks and snacks. Any preference?"

"Mmm... whatever you want, Ryou," Malik smiled, "Surprise me."

"Namu! You're no help," Ryou teased, "Alright, I'll get a couple things then."

"Sounds good," Malik smiled, "I'll go grab us some seats." He kissed Ryou's cheek, before smiling at him and heading off. Ryou blushed, touching his cheek softly, where Malik had kissed him.

"Hey Ryou!"

Ryou looked up, smiling slightly as he spotted Yuugi and his gang, though it was forced. "Hey man, who was that who kissed ya?" Jou asked, nose wrinkled, "I didn't know ya swung that way."

"Jounouchi!" Anzu gasped, smacking him upside the head, "That's not nice!" Honda laughed at that, earning himself a smack from her also, before she looked to Ryou appologetically, "Gomen nasai, Ryou-kun."

Ryou nodded softly, though still blushing. "So, who was he?" Yuugi asked, once Jou and Honda had wandered over to the video games, to escape Anzu's wrath.

"His name is Namu," Ryou smiled, almost dreamily, as he said his name, "He just got here recently with his sister and brother; they're from Egypt."

"Sooo... WHO IS HE?" Anzu smiled, "Is he your friend... BOYfriend...?"

Ryou blushed, "Boyfriend," he answered, truthfully not knowing why he was telling them anything; it wasn't like it was their business. They never truly acted like they liked him or wanted to be his friend. He felt like he was just kind of there when around them. Like he didn't fit in or belong in their little circle of friends.

"Well he's a cutie," Anzu giggled, "You're so lucky, Ryou!"

"Yeah... thanks," Ryou smiled uneasily, relieved as Jou and Honda headed back over, taking Yuugi and Anzu's attention away from himself. He got a soda for himself and Namu and some pocky. 'That would be romantic... sharing,' he smiled to himself, sighing softly.

"I almost thought you got lost," Malik teased as Ryou finally took a seat beside him. "Gomen," Ryou appologized, "Some classmates of mine wanted to talk."

Malik nodded, "Friends of your's?"

Ryou shook his head, "No, not really. The four of them are really close. I thought of them as friends at first, but they're not really; they never acted like they wanted to be friends with me, so I kinda drifted from them."

Malik nodded quietly, "I don't have many friends either; only one person I can truly call a friend. Well, two, counting you," Malik smiled, snaking an arm around Ryou's shoulders. Ryou smiled softly, lifting the armrest that was between them and scooting closer to Malik, who pulled him close, holding him. "This is so nice," Ryou whispered after a moment, "I've always wanted someone to call my own. Someone to... to love.."

"Y-You love me?" Malik asked softly, looking down at Ryou curiously, before being met with a soft nod. He smiled, holding Ryou a little tighter as the lights dimmed in the theater, "That's good, because I love you too," he whispered into Ryou's ear.

"I'm glad," Ryou smiled, whispering back, "You don't think we're rushing too fast, do you?"

Malik shook his head no. "Not at all; love at first sight isn't considered rushing." Ryou blushed, thanking Ra the theater was dark so Malik wouldn't be able to see it.
