Just a quick note to let everyone who enjoyed 'Duplicity' know that this PWP has now become the first installment of a series that will tentatively be titled 'The Artifice Trilogy'. I'm fascinated with the concept of shadowy intrigue and lots of bed-hopping going on behind the scenes at Battle City, and I think the idea is worth exploring further. Besides, just what IS Seto after, anyway? Is Joey in on it too? Is Yami really as clueless as they seem to think? Will Marik get his revenge? All questions to be answered in due time, my friends...
For now, I wanted to let my precious reviewers know how much I appreciate them, so I'm updating this with responses to your kind words. Feedback is a writer's lifeblood, and I can certainly never get enough of it. **hint-hint**

Well, that was simply hot. I don't have any other words to describe it. I think I need a new thesaurus after this story, some of my braincells just fried from the total uncontroled smut. I love it, I love it, and I love it!
Okay, done with the shameless worshipping. Let's get to the long ranting part. :P
I liked how we could see Kaiba and Joey sometime get out of their "characters" yet it wasn't totally obvious. While at first I was dead sure Kaiba wasn't fully under Marik's control, I couldn't help but wonder if Joey was totally under or just faking it.
Kaiba couldn't have been controlled. Kaiba's sex drive vs. Millenium rod? No match at all. Kaiba likes his sex. XD
Anyhow, I don't know if I said it before, but I really like your Kaiba and Joey characterisation. I can see a bit of the devious/sexy Kaiba from "Hate/love relationship with Spring" and thankfully, no psychotic/scary Kaiba from "Shovel And Some Faith" ... then again it's just me, he could be there. Seto's going to take over the world and Joey will be is evil queen. Really, I can just see it now: Seto sitting on a throne, legs spread wide, holding the millenium rod in one hand and Joey's waist in the other. Joey will be wearing the obligatory slutty outfit, of course.
Joey's timid virgin act was really good, although a bit too much. But it's okay, because I like virgin!Joey, I can cuddle him all day.
Poor Marik, I feel a bit sorry for him. He didn't even cum. He's been played around and left quacking like a goose.
All in all, it was a really good story. Although, *I* could see a trace of a plot in this story! I mean, now I am all: "Oh dear, what are Seto's real plans with battle city?" and "Oh my, they act like an old couple, does this mean they have various sexual adventures that goes beyond a tryst in the closet or having sex in public (yet hidden)?".
So in the end I'm left with so many unanswered questions, I don't feel the whole PWP-ness. Then again, it might be just me, but still...
Okay, this long review is coming to a close. This is why I don't like reviewing right after reading a chapter.

Joupup - Dang! I love this review! It's now my official AFF favourite, hands down. I'm especially fond of the concept of Seto ruling the world and having Joey at his side as an evil queen. Got any ideas for those obligatory slutty outfits? Suggestions, visual aids, etc?
Heh. I've been trying to 'recapture' the Seto from 'Spring' in preparation for 'Summer', but various darker versions of him keep jumping out of the shadows to surprise me. I think I've gotten close this time, altho be looking for him to turn more devious in future installments. I'm glad it didn't read as PWP to you, since it turned out NOT to be one, after all. You must be psychic. Hope parts 2 and 3 will help clear up some of your unanswered questions, and maybe even give you what the girls in middle school always referred to as the 'screaming thigh sweats'. If you ever come across a 'smut thesaurus', will you let me know? I think I'm going to need it...

I actually read this some hours ago, but I had to leave before writing up a proper review, so forgive me if I'm a little foggy with the details.
This story was really, really good. Hot! Hehe. I was wondering when Marik was going to get in on the action.. I actually started to think that Seto was playing along when he glared and did all that stuff, but it didn't really strike me that Joey was playing along. They're such devious, devious people XD Plus.. I dunno, I'm not really understanding what you meant when you had Joey say he could see through Seto.. like, was all this a scheme to get Joey, or something? I'm so confused. It could have something to do with the fact that it's like in the wee hours of the morning. XD Anyhow... It's fun to think that Seto is running Yami ragged so he can't have Joey. Why don't they just tell him they're exclusive? Hehe.
But seriously, wow. Excellent lemon! ^_^
Sammei - I'm thrilled you think so, because HOT is exactly what I was going for! **winks** We all know how devious that wily Seto can be, but I was intrigued with the idea that Joey could actually keep up with him in that department, and maybe even surpass him in one small way at least. I'm trying to give them mentor/student vibes, but since there's more to this story than meets the eye, it remains to be seen whether or not Joey is playing the same game that Seto is.
I think the part you're referring to, as far as the confusion, is when Joey made that final, exiting comment to Marik, yes? All he meant by that was that Seto may have had the rest of the gang fooled about his TRUE motivations, but not Joey. You see, they're 'duplicitous' in their dealings with each other, (and everyone else too, apparently) and have been in on IT together since the beginning. What exactly is IT, you ask? Stay tuned to find out.

I'm a sucker for a twist ending, and altho I orginally intended for this little interlude to be merely a dream sequence (with Marik being awakened by a very pissed off and jealous Bakura!), I decided to give the story a little more meat (heh. meat.), and turn it into a trilogy. I'm happy the sweet smutty smut has met with your approval, as it was LOADS of fun to write. **winks** I'll be working on those 2 follow-up chapters, and I hope to see you back here again!

Happy I could give you a cheap thrill with this, as I'm sure I spend way more time than is really healthy, fantasizing about what I would do with the M. Rod as well. Oh, the possibilities...
