On my Mind~ Chapter Two
Seto sat in the chair of the spare bedroom, watching the tanned boy sleeping peacefully on the bed. The steady rise and fall of his chest indicated that he was in a deep slumber.
‘Well of course he’s in a deep sleep,’ Seto thought to himself. ‘I ran him over with my frickin’ car.’
Said car had received considerable damage in the crash, but not as much as the younger teen and his cycle. The front of the cycle had been bent noticeably were he car smashed into it. The handle bars were bent and the front tire actually burst when it skidded across the asphalt. The teen’s leg had been caught under the large bike and burned by the metal there.
The CEO had talked to the family doctor, whom he allowed to take care of the boy, and was assured than other than the burn scarring there would be no permanent damage. This had Seto very relieved. The boy was to beautiful to have any life long damage, that and he was not in the mood to handle a law suit.
The boy under the CEO’s careful scrutiny stirred and his lavender pools fluttered open. He gasped and scooted back as much as his injuries would allow.
“Ow…” he moaned, gripping his leg. “What the hell am I doing here?”
“I brought you here,” The CEO answered as if it was the most obvious thing in the world, because it was. “You didn’t seem to care.”
The boy ignored Seto’s last comment.
“Where is here and who are you,” the boy soothing rubbed his stinging leg.
“Don’t tell me you have amnesia,” Seto moaned. He did NOT feel like taking care of some kid that probably didn’t remember what a bathroom was.
“No I don’t have amnesia,” the boy glared. “I just woke up in some strange man’s bed, and I think I deserve some answers.”
“I am not strange,” Seto defended.
“Yeah, well you’re a stranger, a man, and I’m in your bed. I’m in a strange man’s bed,” the boy glared harder.
“Whatever,” Seto glared back. “You could just as easily be on this strange man’s floor.”
“I remember you now,” the boy said. “You’re that damned prick that ran me down with his car…” the boy squinted his eyes as he examined Seto; his hair seeming to spike slightly “Obviously a damned famous; rich prick. Hello Seto Kaiba, what a pleasure to be run over by you.”
“Cut the sarcasm, you brat,” Seto snapped as if he was talking to a small child. “Well seeing how you know who I am, enlighten me as to who you are.”
“Of course, the man who nearly killed me deserves to know the name of his almost victim,” the boy said with more sarcasm. “My name is Malik, Malik Ishtar.”
“That sounds like a name of a terrorist,” Seto commented. “So Malik, where do you live? I don’t intend on keeping you here any longer.”
“You sound like I was here for ever,” Malik stress the word “ ever ” as he put his legs down.
“You were asleep for three days.”
“WHAT!?” Malik shouted; obviously surprised. “What do you mean I was asleep for three days!?”
“I mean what I said, you were asleep for three days,” the CEO said in monotone. “Now tell me where you live, so I can take you home.”
Malik calmed down as his eyes dropped to his lap. He drew his legs back up and hugged them to his chest.
“I don’t live anywhere now…” he said with a sad tone. “I had a fight with my sister and I decided to leave. That’s when you ran me over.”
Seto groaned.
‘Great, just great. It’s bad enough I ran this kid over, but now he has no where to go…he’s probably going to insist on staying here since I made it hard for him to live on his own…’
Seto looked at Malik who was looking around the massive room.
‘Though…it might now be too bad…he is good looking…’
“You’ll stay here.”
Malik was pulled from his observations by the sudden comment from the CEO. It wasn’t a statement, or a question, it was more like a command.
“Excuse me?” Malik asked. He wasn’t sure if he heard the other boy correctly.
“You’ll stay here,” Seto repeated. “I’m not pressed for space and I owe you at least something for running you over and ruining your motorcycle.”
“Oh thank you!” Malik shouted and threw his arms around Seto. Seto, of course, immediately pushed him away.
“Don’t do that,” The CEO growled. He got up from his seat and moved to exit the room. “The servants will fill you in on the need to know stuff later.”
FuKouHei: Sorry for another short chapter…. *looks* augh…it’s shorter than the first one….and Manalishi’s chapters are longer than both these chappies put together…. * sigh * I’ll try to have a longer chappie next time….my cousin is distracting me right now….
