It’d been nearly a month since Bakura had left Ryou with that simple, heartbreaking sentence, but while Bakura figured it’d tear Ryou down, it really left him more of a stronger person. It was Bakura that had been torn down. Ever since that night, he couldn’t get the light out of his head. That day, after the date, Ryou had went to school as usual, and Bakura had moved out, leaving little left of him behind. A pillow discarded on his floor, and a sock in the laundry that didn’t match any of Ryou’s was all that was abandoned by the Yami.
//You think that I got home at night…
Take off my clothes, turn out the lights…
But I burn letters that I write…
To you, to make you love me…//
After Bakura had left, he’d moved in with Marik and his hikari, not that that had surprised Ryou, in fact that was the only place he could think would put up with his Yami. Ryou smiled weakly to himself for a moment as he drug the brush through his long hair. The moment he’d found out Bakura had left him, he had changed. His heart was still broken, but the pain, he found, was refreshing. He had loved. He had loved and it hurt, but he had memories of a night he’d never forget. One he vowed to keep in his head, no one ever forgot their first love, never forgot the person who took their virginity, never forgot the first person who broke their heart, and his Yami had the pleasure of being all of that and more. Ryou laughed more often with his friends after a week of mourning his loss, it seemed shallow, but he felt real. Even if it was only sex, he knew his Yami, and he knew the other didn’t have low standards.
//Yeah, I drive naked through the park…
And run the stop sign in the dark…
Stand in the street, yell out my heart…
To make, to make you love me…//
There had to be something about Ryou that meant he was special, and it began showing. A brightness in his eyes that made everyone smile, the melodic giggle that Bakura missed so much, and the new way Ryou had gotten his hair cut to it didn’t fall so limply around his shoulders. Things had changed so much in a month, Ryou was quicker to stand up for himself, and had actually gained more than one offering for a date. But he couldn’t do that, couldn’t date, the pain of what he’d faced was still a bit too real. Ryou never expected to see his yami, and that surprised him. His yami lived almost in the same neighborhood, who was it that he never seen the boy when simply stepping out of the Ishtars’ house could mean being spotted? Ryou wouldn’t know, but Bakura had barely left his room, only for food did he take the chance of doing so.

Ryou laughed softly with his friends as they sat at the table. It had started out as a double date, but turned into something more of just a meeting of friends. His ‘date’ wasn’t much of one, it was simply Yuugi’s yami, Yuugi was so blind and Ryou couldn’t help but shake his head. Atemu was so obvious, practically drooling over his light, and looking about ready to slaughter the boy that was gently toying with a strand of Yuugi’s blonde hair. Gently shaking his head, Ryou slid further in the booth, hoping to nap while they waited for the waiter to get there. The rough voice that he heard, asking what they’d like to drink, made Ryou sit up, finally noticeable from being partially behind Atemu, where he had been attempting to hide from the light of the restaurant. Bakura stood there, looking thoroughly torn before bolting and taking the damned orders. Ryou’s mouth opened, but he found he couldn’t speak. It wasn’t often the boy that broke your heart you met again on a date with another yami. Actually, Ryou didn’t think that ever happened.
//You may not believe in me
But I believe in you
So I still take the trash out
Does that make me too normal for you?//
Ryou slid from the booth, murmuring to Atemu about the bathroom, and about ordering him a coke, and made his way to the bathroom, immediately slipping inside to calm himself down. His heart still raced painfully at the sight of his yami, and he still reacted to the other’s presence. Biting into his lower lip, he fought to calm down when he heard the door open, not wanting a stranger to see his tears. “You shouldn’t cry.” The same gruff voice spoke, and Ryou spun around, face to face with the man that had haunted both his nightmares and fantasies for the past month, “You should be working.” Ryou snapped back, turning away, half tempted to lock himself in one of the stalls, “Listen…Ryou…I’m….I…” Bakura frowned and narrowed his eyes, “I’m..s…sorry…” He stammered out, glancing to his confused looking light, “Sorry for what?” Ryou asked, tilting his head to the side. Bakura flinched slightly, “For..saying what I said and..” Bakura started, but Ryou smiled delicately and shook his head, “It’s okay, Bakura…” The yami was still looking unsure, and Ryou stepped forwards, cupping the other’s cheek, “Really.”
//So dig a little deeper, cause
You still don't get it yet
See me lickin' my lips, need a primitive fix
And I'll make, I'll make you love me.//
Bakura couldn’t help but lean forwards and catch Ryou’s lips, quite surprised when the light returned the favor. Like a replay of the first and last night they were together, they stumbled towards the bathroom door and quickly locked it, Ryou pulling at Bakura’s uniform as his yami stripped him of his clothing. A month of being without the other was too much for the both of them. They both knew it, and though Ryou knew he was risking everything by allowing it, he wanted his yami too much to care. Nails raked down Bakura’s back as he lifted his light so the other could wrap his legs around his waist. Fingers slid into Ryou’s mouth, the boy sucking and licking lightly at the digits, before they were removed and pressed inside his body. The entrance of two fingers at once almost went unnoticed by the light, who was panting and grinding against his yami needfully. Tears slid down Ryou’s cheeks as a third finger was pressed inside, each droplet collected on the tip of Bakura’s tongue. Ryou was setting himself up for another fall, but he’d already fallen once, and he needed it again. Legs tightened around Bakura’s waist as he removed his fingers and gripped his light’s hip in one hand, the other hand gripping his own length as he forced Ryou down around him. A soft cry left the hikari’s lips as he buried his face against Bakura’s neck, but the invasion was more than welcome by his needy body and within moments their bodies were moving together, Ryou’s hands settled on the sink counter where they’re stumbled to, his back pressed down against the cold marble counter as Bakura thrust roughly into him.

Ryou came first, his back arching sharply as Bakura buried himself deeply into his body, a soft cry fall from his lips, all too aware that they were in a public place. Bakura groaned and followed his hikari over the edge after a few harsh thrusts. Slowly Bakura pulled away and collapsed back against the wall, his black trousers hanging open around his hips. As Bakura slid down the wall, Ryou stood up slowly and pulled his clothing on, moving to kiss Bakura’s forehead gently, before sitting down and snuggling into Bakura’s chest. The boy’s arms came around him, hugging him close, and for once, Ryou felt totally loved. A slight smile appeared on Bakura’s lips as he looked down at the little one in his lap, a hand coming up to caress Ryou’s cheek, “I love you, hikari..” Bakura murmured softly, and Ryou’s lips curled slightly as he pulled back. A cold look stole over his features and he stared down at his confused looking yami, “You were a nice screw.” Ryou purred, before turning away and walking from the bathroom, leaving a partially naked, and broken looking yami behind him.

Ryou paused at Yuugi’s table and smiled lightly, “Yami, Yuugi, Asagi.” He nodded gently to them, “I’m not feeling well, Yami, I’m sorry, but I think I’d better go home..” Yami nodded gently, but looked a little confused as Ryou turned and began to walk away. Halfway to the door, Ryou glanced back and smiled, “Yuugi. Yami likes you. Yami. Yuugi’s only going out with Asagi to make you jealous.” And with that, and with three boys gawking at his back, Ryou strode from the restaurant looking thoroughly satisfied.

No, it’s not over yet! Come on, you think Bakura’s going to stand for that? He’s not as much as a pushover as his hikari...though, Ryou doesn’t look like much of a pushover now!
