Chapter 2

Lady D’Ceandre: I have reviews. Yeah! Thank you. ^____^

Trouble: Oh, boy. We’re never going to hear the end of this.

Hime: I think it’s good. We’ve never had reviews before.

Trouble: We’ve never posted a fic here before.

Demi: I smell Tuna… *Wanders off. Trouble and Hime watch him go with identical sweatdrops.*

Lady D’Ceandre: Uh, yeah… Okay, I forgot to mention this earlier; while I watch the show when I can, most of my info is from summaries, and I know nearly nothing about the game. So if someone’s acting a little too OOC, sorry.

Okay, standard disclaimer and key applies.

Beware of falling Lemons.

Bakura lounged in his favourite armchair, one leg slung over the arm. He was cautiously watching an innocent seeming shadow move back and forth. Innocent seeming, except for the fact that there was nothing to cause the shadow.

“That was foolish, Boy. Any more stunts like that, and I will find myself a different assistant.” Bakura tensed in anger. The feminine voice was mocking. It usually was, though.

Someday, after the Pharaoh has fallen, and I have no more need for you… But for the moment, he did need her, if it was a her. He had never seen his dark benefactor, was not even sure she had a visible form.

“Forgive me, Mistress.” He replied, forcing his voice to sound subservient. Her taunting laughter showed she was not fooled though.

Again, Bakura wondered what the Pharaoh had done to her, to make her abhor him so. She had shown up a few days before, out of the blue, or the dark of night, to be exact, and demanded he assist her. In return, she promised he could rule Japan. Under her, of course. Not that was going to last long.

“Now do as you’re told and stay quiet. I still have things to do and I don’t want to be having to clean up after you.” With that the presence faded, and Bakura was alone. Suddenly, Ryou broke free and appeared in his spirit form.

“Bakura, you can’t…”

“Be quiet, Hikari, before I decide you need another trip to the shadow realm.” Ryou winced, and dropped into an unhappy silence. He didn’t return to his soul room, though. Bakura leaned back in the chair he sat in, merely watching. Ryou stretched, enjoying his temporary freedom. It wasn’t often that Bakura let him out. He kept casting cautious glances at his yami, but Bakura now had his eyes closed, and appeared to be ignoring him. Silently, Ryou moved toward the door.

“Hikari.” Bakura warned, and Ryou winced, expecting to be viciously forced back into his soul room. But Bakura seemed to be in an unusually good mood today. One hand lazily pointed at the floor, and Ryou sat down at Bakura’s feet with a sigh. They remained like that for a while, Bakura dozing in the chair, while the teen sat unhappily at his feet, fearing to move away and risk destroying his Yami’s sleepy calm. Finally, he relaxed, slightly.

Bakura began humming under his breath, and Ryou cringed, knowing what was coming. Sure enough, a moment later he was pulled back into the puzzle, to his soul room. Bakura appeared in front of him. Ryou backed away.

“Umm, But isn’t Marik supposed to be coming over. You always said you didn’t want him in the house alone…”

“Marik can wait.” Bakura said, amused. “I, however…” He lunged at Ryou, and the hikari yelped, dodging by and racing out the open door. Bakura only chuckled cruelly, and walked across the room to the door.

:Do you know what I like about you, Hikari?: He moved down a set of stairs into the giant maze that was the millennium ring. Walls of dark vines, some with their sharp thorns stained red with blood, shifted even as he watched, blocking corridors and creating new ones.

:What?: Came the cautious reply.

:You always run.: He turned a corner, and came face to face with his prey. Ryou stepped back in surprise, looking around. The path he had taken had closed up.

“Let the hunt begin.” Another passage opened up and Ryou darted through. It closed behind him. Just then something in the real world caught Bakura’s attention. He snarled in annoyance.

:Find a good hiding place, Hikari. I’ll be back in a moment.:

Marik knocked again on the door of Ryou’s apartment. He waited a minute, then, after checking to make sure he wouldn’t be interrupted, pulled a lockpick from his pocket. He inserted it in the keyhole, then grimaced as the door opened, pulling the lockpick out of his hand. Bakura looked from him to the lockpick, then shook his head.

“I don’t suppose you tried seeing if it was unlocked?” He asked. Marik grinned evilly.

“Now where would the fun be in that?” He tucked the pick back into his pocket and strode in, looking around. “So what’s this great plan of yours? The one that will destroy the Pharaoh.” Bakura smiled coldly and began to explain his plan to Marik.

Ryou sat at the end of a small corridor, his arms wrapped around his knees. He tried to keep calm, knowing that Bakura would sense any strong emotions, following them right to him.

It didn’t matter, really; he was only postponing the inevitable. Bakura would find him eventually. But if he evaded his Yami long enough, perhaps when they did meet up, he would be too busy with something else to worry about pursuing his original intent.

:Oh, Hikari!: Ryou groaned. Wishful thinking. He stood and turned around, trying to judge which direction Bakura was coming from. Of course, it would be harder later. Bakura was just getting warmed up. Finally deciding on a path, he left the corridor, just in time, as the walls shifted again, closing in. One of the thorns scratched deeply across Ryou’s arm, drawing blood. Not all of the old blood that adorned the walls was his, but there was enough of it.

Ignoring the pain, Ryou moved on, always watching for a sign that Bakura was close. There were a few times where the two were separated by only a single wall, but fortunately, they hadn’t met so far. Ryou turned another corner, and prayed his luck would hold out.

******

Bakura moved calmly through the maze, knowing that it was only a matter of time before he found Ryou. He hummed a cheery tune, an odd habit he had picked up while locked in the ring. He didn’t do it as often any more, but always when he was feeling aroused. A few notes sent Ryou running in terror. Even now he could feel Ryou on the other side of the vine wall, trying to keep his fear in check.

“Hikari?” Bakura called. Ryou yelped behind the vines, and Bakura felt his fear flare. Then he was running, moving away. Bakura studied the tunnel, tiring of the game. He took a left, then another, then paused and waited beside an opening, keeping his thoughts silent.

Sure enough, a moment later, Ryou stepped through the opening, looking behind him. Bakura grabbed his arm and the hikari jumped, then whirled, trying to push Bakura away with his free hand. Bakura grabbed his other wrist and tripped him. Ryou fell, and Bakura straddled him, pinning the smaller boy to the floor.

“You’re getting careless, Hikari. I’m almost beginning to think you like being caught.”

“No!” Ryou tried to buck Bakura off, twisting his body away at the same time. The crack of flesh on flesh resounded through the maze, and Ryou laid still, tears welling in his eyes as the handprint on his cheek took on a slightly purplish tinge.

Bakura’s mouth came down hard on his, bruising the tender lips. He invaded Ryou’s mouth, tasting his depths, and Ryou gasped for breath when Bakura finally broke the kiss.

The Yami’s hand moved down to Ryou’s belt, all the while watching Ryou whimper beneath him. On hand slipped in, stroking the length, and Ryou moaned, tossing his head in denial.

“No! Please, don’t.” Ryou tried to pull himself out from underneath Bakura and the thief used his movement to pull his pants further down. Ryou yelped and lay still. He was so frightened he didn’t know how Bakura could get him aroused, but it surprisingly didn’t take much effort.

Then Bakura licked at the tip of the engorged member, and Ryou gasped. Bakura smiled and took Ryou into his mouth, relishing his other half’s salty taste. He drew back, letting his teeth rake over the sensitive skin. Ryou shifted and moaned again at the pleasure-pain. Bakura continued his ministrations, licking, sucking, and torturing until Ryou came with a gasp. The teen laid still, chest heaving, staring up into darkness. But Bakura wasn’t finished yet. Trailing a finger through Ryou’s release, he drew some down to his opening, spreading the slippery fluid around and in the puckered hole. Ryou tensed in protest.

Ignoring the tightening muscles, Bakura thrust his finger into the hole, followed swiftly by a second and third. He removed his own pants, and presented Ryou with his semi hard member. Ryou reluctantly began to suck on it, spreading as much saliva over it as he could. It would still hurt, but perhaps not as much.

Bakura suddenly pulled away, moving off Ryou, and pulling the teen over, so that he knelt on his hands and knees. He positioned himself, and with one surge, buried his shaft in the soft flesh.

Ryou let out a strangled half-cry as Bakura began pumping viciously, slamming in again and again. After only a few thrusts blood began to show.

But Bakura knew what he was doing, and his next thrust slammed into the prostrate. Ryou gasped through his tears, and Bakura hit that spot again, and again. The boy’s cock began to stiffen again from the feelings, and Ryou reached down with one hand to encourage it. As before, it was quickly hard, and Bakura managed to time his thrusts so that the two of them came together.

Ryou collapsed and Bakura pulled out, rolling to lay beside his unwilling partner. The yami wrapped his arms around his hikari, drawing him close. This had always confused Ryou. No matter how vicious Bakura acted before, and this was by no means the worst time, afterwards he was shockingly gentle.

But gentleness now did nothing for the pain Ryou felt, or the shame. He didn’t lean that way normally, nor, from what he had gleaned, did Bakura. And to be used like a toy… while, at least Bakura hadn’t started experimenting too much. Ryou didn’t even want to consider what Bakura could think up with some of the stranger tools.

Thoroughly exhausted, Ryou offered little resistance when Bakura picked him up and carried him back to his soul room. As he usually did, Ryou wondered if Bakura could control the twisting maze. He certainly never got lost. Ryou did, often.

Whatever the answer was, they reached the stairs that led to Ryou’s door quickly. Bakura carried Ryou in and laid him on the bed, then joined him holding him gently again.

“Sleep, Hikari. Tomorrow, the fun begins.”

The maze went still, and silent, as the two lovers dropped into unconsciousness.

Lady D’Ceandre: Well! That was… interesting. And longer then I had intended. But there you go, an in-depth-look at the quirks of everyone’s favourite maniac. (Or would that be Marik?)

Not too bad for a first try. I think.

Trouble: Right. Have you ever thought of visiting a psychiatrist?

Lady D’Ceandre: Nonsense. Life’s more fun when you’re insane. *evil grin.*

Demi: I Love my Mommy. *silence.*

Lady D’Ceandre: So he’s not the brightest muse ever born. He’s my baby. :) Well, since I’ve got that out of my system…

Trouble: Next time on To Lose the Light… a plot!

*Sigh.*
