CHAPTER 2

Malik had finally reach FairyTopa and quickly made his way inside the large castle, tucking the spider boys necklace under his top, "Where the hell have you been all day Malik?" asked Malik's older brother, Mariku, from behind him. Malik turned quickly to hug him, "Mariku! I am so happy to see you!" Mariku's normally narrow eyes widened "Happy to see me are you? Now I know something serious must have happened. Spill it." Laughed Malik pulled away, "I'm just happy because I made a new friend." Mariku glared, "Hn. You need to be more careful who you make friends with Malik. You are a prince after all." Malik giggled," Ah. But you're the oldest brother so you're the one in line for the crown not I." Mariku glared as his watched Malik skip away, "Baka." If it hadn't been for Mariku then Malik would still be picked of for his miniature wings. For a fairy Mariku was not kind or sweet. He had more of the attitude that a spider or scorpion would have.

Bakura walked through the palace doors trying to drown out his brothers endless chatter, "Do you think I should dress up for my date with Yami? Do these pants make my butt look big? Are you listening Bakura?" "No, actually I'm not. So you can stop talking now." When Ryou pouted Bakura ruffled the smaller boys hair, "Aw don't fret Ry. You know I love ya lil bro." Ryou snorted, "Yeah right. You sure don't show it well." Bakura waved Ryou off, "What did mother want?" Ryou giggled, "She wishes to discuss marriage." With very wide eyes Bakura tripped, "WHAT!?" "Marriage." said Ryou again with a snicker. With a murderous cry Bakura stormed into the thrown room. "Mother! What the hell is this I hear about marriage!?" A women with knee length silver hair smiled at her eldest son, "Now Bakura dear do settle yourself. Royalty does not have hissy fits." Bakura's eyes narrowed, "I was not having a hissy fit. I am not going to marry though." Bakura laughed darkly "You know very well that I despise women."

Shaking her head, Niko, the spider queen, rose from her thrown to walk over to her son "Bakura, my dear, dark, menacing Bakura. I am so very proud of you. You have managed to become even more powerful than your father was when he was alive." Cupping Bakura's cheek she stared into his eyes. "I need you to choose a life mate though. I can not rule forever Baku-kun. You will have to take the thrown soon." Bakura's eyes shook with rage at his mothers words. HE wasn't ready to rake a bride. Hell, he didn't even like women! Niko's smile turned evil and her eyes flashed with mischief "OF course it says no where in the book of the spider clan that you must marry a women." Ryou giggled and Bakura grinned. "I knew there was a reason I loved you mother." Niko placed a hand over her mouth as she giggled. "Anything to make my son's happy."

Malik went up to his room to change into his royal garments for dinner. Standing in front of his mirror naked Malik touched the spider necklace with a smile, "He wasn't such a bad guy." Lavender eyes sparkled as he remembered the kiss Bakura had given him. It had made his insides turn to much and had it come to it Malik wouldn't mind kissing Bakura again. He wouldn't mind it at all. Malik jumped and quickly wrapped a robe around himself when Mariku barged in. "Damn it Mariku would you knock!?" Mariku was about to say something when he saw a glimmer of gold. "Malik..where on earth did you get that?" asked Mariku with wide eyes as he approached his brother Mariku lifted the opal from Malik's chest with a shaking hand. Malik smiled "My friend Bakura gave it to me." "Do you have any idea of what this is Malik?" Malik shook his head and Mariku sighed." You really are a baka Malik. That," he gave the necklace a small tug and Malik gasped before pulling the gem back to himself yelling "Your going to break it if you do that!" Malik was upset for his brother for trying to break the only gift he had been given by someone who wasn't a family member or trying to get cozy with his parents. "That is the gem of the spider clans royal family!"

Malik's eyes widened from shock. Bakura was royalty just like him. How very interesting. Malik realized then how the necklace would protect him from other spiders Mariku glared as his brother smiled goofily. "You are weird Malik. Get dressed and go down stairs." "Yes brother." Malik pulled on his tight black pants and his red sleeveless jacket with gold trim, keeping on the bracelets he was wearing earlier that day. Reaching over to his vanity Malik put on the grown of violets he always wore, just like his mother and sister. Reaching for Bakura's necklace Malik caressed it again before going to the great hall for dinner.

Ryou watched with a smile as Bakura bit savagely into a piece of raw meat, he was obviously stressed on the marriage issue or he was thinking about the pretty fairy from earlier. Ryou was positive it was the fairy that was plaguing his brother's thoughts. Not that Ryou blamed him, the fairy was very very pretty. Bakura had always had a thing for innocent looking beings. He guessed that he liked the power he had over them. Bakura looked up. "What are you looking at Ry?" asked the older boy as blood dribbled down his chin, making his mother frown, "Bakura! Sit up, eat properly, and wipe your mouth young man." With a frown Bakura did as Niko bid, muttering about bitchy parental's and Ryou giggled. "Who was the fairy you were talking to earlier Baku?" Bakura moaned loudly but stopped as his mothers black eyes narrowed at him, "I can't help it mum. You should see him. He's so beautiful and he has this really fine as.." "Bakura!" yelled him mother. Her cheeks tinting. Bakura grinned widely, leaning back on his chair, "I figured you would be proud mother."

Malik had dinner and was back in his room getting ready for bed when Mariku once again entered without knocking. Mariku simply watched as the smaller fairy removed all his jewelry except the spider necklace, "Are you going to sleep in it?" Malik smiled and removed the bands from his hair, "Does that bother you?" Mariku came up behind Malik as he picked up his brush "I just worry about you Malik. You're too sweet." Taking the brush from his younger kin Mariku started to slowly drag it through the bright blond locks. Malik sighed and relaxed as his brother pampered him, "Why don't you ever reveal your wings Mariku-kun?" Instead of having his wings out like most fairy's Mariku's black wings were magically tattooed on his back, "I don't like them. They make me feel girly." answered the taller boy as he continued to brush his brothers hair. Malik smiled at Mariku's answer, "Are you calling me girly brother?" There was a bark laugh from Mariku "You Malik. Are more girly then most females are. The grisliest of the girly." Malik laughed as Mariku hugged him from behind, being careful not to crush his brothers wings "Goodnight Malik." "Goodnight Mariku.
