Valentine and Kaiba? 2:True Love

‘Wonder what’s wrong with him...’ Mai thought. “So you’ll come?” Mokuba asked. “It looks like I don’t have a choice in the matter.” Mai laughed. Mokuba took her hand and smiled. “Good.” As they walked into the park, Mai looked over at Kaiba. For the first time in a hour, he looked at her. A small smile on his lips. Mai gave him a shy smile. ‘I wonder what he’s thinking about... Does he feel the same way, as I do? Most likely not, it’s not like Kaiba... But he’s acting kind of weird... I’m not sure.’ Mai sighed. “Earth to Mai! Didn’t you hear what I said?” Mokuba poked her in the ribs. “What?” Mai asked coming to her sense. “I asked you what kind of ice cream you wanted.” Mokuba said looking up at her. “Oh I’ll just have a water.” “Oh okay.” Mokuba ran off to get his ice cream and her water.
Kaiba sat down on a bench, and sighed. “Kaiba?” Mai asked turning to look at him. “Yeah, what?” He asked sitting up straight, looking at her. “Do you feel the same way, as I do?” She looked him in the eyes. He looked away and blushed. “I don’t know what you’re talking about Mai.” Mai shook her head, “Yes you do! I know you do! Tell me Kaiba do you feel the same or not! It’s a simple yes or no!” Mai was exasperated, but kept her temper. “Really, Mai what are you talking about?” ‘He’s playing dumb I just know it! I could play a long but I don’t feel like it right now! I’ve got more things to do then play his games!’ Mai clenched her teeth. Trying to calm down, she was sick of him playing dumb. “Kaiba you know what I’m talking about! I think you feel the same but tell me do you?” Mai looked at him with her beautiful violet eyes.
Kaiba looked away, and nodded. “Do you really?” Mai asked surprised, even though she had thought the same. “Yes.” Kaiba said, the word was so simple, and yet it made Mai shiver. “I see...” She sat down, she felt weak. “Oh God... I had no idea...” Kaiba nodded. “That’s how I wanted it.” Mai looked up at him, his piercing blue eyes, didn’t seem so piercing anymore. “Really? Why?” Mai asked him, quietly. “I’m not sure.” He sat back and closed his eyes. They didn’t speak for a few minutes. “Kaiba... how long...um... have you....er...felt this way?” Mai asked him slowly, uncertain how to put the words.
“I’m not sure about that either. I’m not sure if I’ll ever be certain.” Kaiba said, his eyes still closed. “Really why? Am I not a likable person?” Mai asked raising a eye brow. “No, no, it’s not that.. I just don’t know is all.” Kaiba said, hoping he didn’t hurt her feelings. “Oh okay.” Mai wasn’t sure if that was a good thing, or a bad thing. Mai got up off the ground, and sat next to Kaiba. He opened his eyes, and sat up. He leaned closer to her, and before they knew what they were doing. Their lips met.
They kissed for a few second and back away from each other. Mai blinked and blushed, a deep red. “Um...” She couldn’t find her tongue. “Mai I....” Kaiba was uncomfortable, he thought Mai was mad. “I’m sorry, Mai I don’t know what happened.” “What do you mean, why are you sorry?” Mai asked confused. “I thought you were mad...” Kaiba said now more confused than Mai. “Mad? Mad?” Mai said the word as if she’d never heard it before. “Mad? No, why would I be mad?” Mai asked totally confused now. “Never mind forget about it, okay?” “Fine.” Mai said quietly.
Mai looked over and saw Mokuba. He had a ice cream cone in one hand, and a cut of water in the other. He smiled and them and gave Mai her water. “Here ya go Mai.” He said. “Thank you.” Was all Mai could say. “Seto may I go play with my friend over their? I’ll come home later.” “That’s fine Mokuba have fun.” “Thank’s Seto. Bye Mai see ya around!” Mokuba said running towards a group of kids. “Bye Mokuba.” Mai smiled. Kaiba yawned and got up. Mai looked at him, wondering what he was going to do. “I’m really sorry to leave you...” ‘Leave?!?!’ Mai thought to herself.
“But I’ve got a lot of work to do. So I have to get back to Kaiba Corp. But if you need me you know where to find me, right.” Mai looked into his blue eyes, “Yes I know.” Kaiba gave her one last look and turned, he walked down the hill. Mai watch him go, wonder if she’d see him again soon. Mai sighed and sat down again. She saw Mokuba playing with his friends. She grinned, and stood up. She thought about leaving and not coming back for a while. Instead of walking down the hill and to her car. She lay on the grass, and closed her eyes.
Mai slept for about 2 hours, when she awoke to someone poking her. She opened on eye. It was Mokuba, she blinked a few times. “Where’s Seto?” Mokuba asked, in a friendly voice. “He had to go back to Kaiba Corp. He said he had a lot of work to do.” Mai got up and brushed off the leaves and glass that was on her skirt. There was a leaf in her hair that she picked out. “Oh, I see. Well I’d better get home. Seto will be mad if I’m gone to long!” Mai nodded. “Do you wanna come?” Mokuba asked. “I’m sure Seto wouldn’t mind if you stayed the night. You can’t go home it’s to late.” “What time is it anyway?” Mai asked. “It’s 4:30.” Mokuba said, “Oh okay. I guess I could come with you.” Mai picked up her high heels. She didn’t bother to put them on, they hurt her feet to much. “Okay let’s go!” Mokuba took her hand and they headed down the hill.
As they walked Mokuba talked about Kaiba, dueling, Yugi, and school. Mai tried to listen but kept on thinking about other things. Mokuba didn’t seem to notice. It took them a hour to get to Kaiba Corp.
Mai looked at the gates, which were high and a bight scary. “Um... are you sure it’s okay for me to go in there?” Mai asked, not looking convinced. “Just stay by me, and you’ll be fine don’t worry!” Mokuba said. “Well, okay.” Mai slipped on her high heels, which made her look like she was 5'10, instead of her 5'8 height.
