Chapter 2: Illusive From His Grasps

How many times would they fail?!

How difficult is it to find one vampire?

In his eyes...not at all.

Yami Motou sat wearing all black leather and with a cigarette as he held his crossbow. He was the leader of the Hunters...those that hunted vampires. Sure, he knew of the Church of the Damned. But finding the trio proved harder than it really was. The female especially since she was rarely around. To him, ladies first was always his law.

Find the girl, find the others and their race is dead.

But she had kept him on the run.

He wouldn't give up that fast.

A tap on his shoulder and he tilted his head slightly. "Mr. Motou, sorry to disturb you," a male voice said. "Word has it the younger Southern Hunters have been missing." Yami blinked. "Last known location, Marik?" he asked. Marik Ishtar frowned. "Church of the Damned," he said and Yami growled. "Damn those morons," he snarled. "When I find any one of them..." Marik raised his brow. "They're illusive," he said. "They won't come easily."

"We'll just have to force them out."

"Yes sir."

Kaiba Mansion....

She awoke hearing the click, click, click of a laptop.

Her new husband was hard at work as usual.

She didn't mind...he had a company to run.

The room was dark. Seto had ways of blocking the sun and Alison thankfully helped him. She opened her eyes and he gazed at her as he sat on the bed the sheets over his lower torso. He was still naked. "Rest well, my beloved?" he asked. She nodded. "That I did," she said and he smiled as he typed. "Good," he said. He pushed her blonde hair back gently. "I could stay like this a good while," he said putting the laptop down and laying beside her. "Beside the woman I love." She blushed and smiled nodding. "As could I," she said.

He then caught a scent in his nose and frowned.

"Hunters," he whispered.

Alison frowned as they dressed. Their vampiric appearances well covered, the two looked like normal humans. Seto stepped out first and stared at the men. "I beg your pardon, but why the hell are you in my home?" he demanded. "Mr. Kaiba!" a man said in shock. "Yes, last time I checked that's my damn name," Seto said growling. "There's rumors a vampire is here...we're just checking into it," another said. "No one's here, but me and my wife," he said sternly. Alison stayed hidden. She knew this group.

The men frowned, but turned and left.

"They hunt for me," Alison whispered shakily. Seto looked at her and took her in his arms. "I won't let them take you," he said sternly. "I promise I refuse to let them!" Alison nodded and sighed. "I know," she said as he lifted her chin with his finger and kissed her passionately. "Calm, my love," he said. "Rest for now." She nodded and walked into the bedroom as he sighed and got to work on a few things.

Church of the Damned...

Joey paced the beams frowning.

Alison was late in returning.

Duke sighed watching him. "You don't dink dey actually got married, do ya?" Joey asked. Duke frowned. "If they did, that's their decision," he said. "However, it's this chosen stuff I'm worried of. Bakura actually says it's coming true." Joey jumped down. "Hunters have grown in numbers," he said seriously. "It's gonna be hard for you and me to even hide who we are soon." Duke nodded and sighed. "If dis happens, who will have de kid? How will we know?" Joey asked and leaned back. "Questions we'll have to answer in due time, Joey," Duke said.

He froze suddenly sniffing the air. "They're back!"

Joey grabbed Duke by the arm as the two disappeared into the shadows. The Hunters burst in and looked around for the illusive trio and frowned. "Nothing, sir!" one shouted. The leader frowned. "Those three better appear soon...Mr. Motou grows impatient." Joey watched and blinked. He was staring straight at Marik Ishtar. The group left and Joey blinked. "Yami...and Marik?" he whispered. Duke frowned. "We killed Yami's brother...he wants revenge," he said. "And won't stop until he does."

"But dat was an accident! We didn't mean to kill Yuge!"

"But does he know that? No! He wants me, you, and Alison dead!"

"Dis is crazy...dat baby bettah hurry...I at least wanna live as long as you."

Duke had to smile at the young vampire and kissed his forehead. "You will," he said as Joey smiled. "I hope so," he said.

Yami held a picture of Yugi and sighed as he felt unshed tears creep into his eyes. He stuffed the picture back in his pocket and lit another cigarette. "Soon, they will perish by my very hands," he said. "They will pay for what they did to him!" His fist clentched as he heard thunder in the distance. He glanced up and fixed his hat before turning around and heading down the dimly lit alleys toward home.
