Hi. Today brings us Chapter 2 and the tournament. Yugi's going to duel...So is Akeifa
and everyone else! The trick, no one knows who's dueling who until it's time for them
to duel. Oooo. So, who is Yugi's opponent going to be?

Chapter 2: The Tournament

Saturday, the day of the city tournament at Kaiba Corp. Duel Dome. It's 8:22am. The first
duels should be ending. I wonder which bracket Atemu is in? Wait?! Why am I worried
about him?! Now, which bracket am I in? Stupid wall. Only has duelist numbers and
times their match begin. Where is 4... Ahh. Here it is, in Bracket A. I wonder who my 1st
opponent is?

"So, I see we're both in the A bracket." I turn around to see Jounouchi and Kaiba.

"Hey guys." I say once again looking at the numbers on the board. "I wonder who's number
8?"

"I don't know Yugi. I'm number 6 and Kaiba's number 4."

How can we both be 4?

"I'm number 4." I say.

"My number for this tournament is 2. I have to duel number 3 at 9:15. You, Jou already won
your duel at 8:00 didn't you?' Kaiba says. "Who did you duel?"

"Ryouta Kajiki."

"Glad you won. I wish I could have saw it. Had to do some stuff for the tournament. Anways,
let's grab something to eat before my duel, Jounouchi."

"See you later Yugi. Good luck. I'll be there to watch your match!" Jou says walking away
with Kaiba.

"Bye guys."

Great. His duel start at 9:15. Lucky me. My duel is at 8:30. Got about 5 minutes to look
at my deck and to get to the arena. I wonder where Atemu is? I would usually see him by
now. Oh well. I have no time to waste.

I go directly to the arena and to my respective side. I watch the last of the previous duel to
see that someone has just won.

"Shorisha, Akeifa Nakumon!" The announcer says. (AN: Winner)

Great! Glad I didn't have to deal with his Occult Deck.

"Next are duelists number 4, Mutou Yugi, and number 8, Kujaku Mai. Will you please take your
positions."

I step up to the platform and it rises. I look around to see lots of duel fans cheering for both
me and Mai.

*Gasp* There's Anzu... and sitting next to her is...Atemu. Why now? Why do I think of the kiss
now!?

"Ganbaru Yugi!" I hear Anzu cheer for me. (AN: Do your best)

I feel myself turn even redder as I look at Anzu and her warm smile and Atemu's lustful smile.

Damn. Lucky me.

"Koun Mai-san!" I say to her. (AN: Good Luck)

"Koun Yugi-san! May the best duelist win!"

"Duel!" we both say as we draw our five cards.

...

"Boku no turn! Draw!" I say drawing a card. (AN: My turn)

Hmm...Thunderbolt (Raigeki). Just what I needed to finish this duel. Mai has knocked off a great
deal of my life points. I only have 1050 left. But, she only has 500 left. I have Holy Barrier (Mirror
Force), Magic Jammer, and Bandit's Seven Edged Tool (Seven Tools of the Bandit) on the field,
so I'm ready for anything. magic/trap wise. I also have Black Magician(2500/2100) and Black
Magician Girl (2000/1700) on the field. She has two magic/trap cards face down, Harpy Lady
Triplet (1950/2100), and Harpy's Pet Dragon (2900/2500) on the field. So, the Thunderbolt
should finish this up.

"I activate Thunderbolt which will destroy all monsters on your side of the field!"

She gasps at my move. Bet she wasn't expecting that.

"Next, Black Magician and Black Magician Girl, attack her life points directly!"

"Not so fast!"

Nani?!

"Activate Shrink! To reduce the attack strengths of your monsters to 1250 and 1000! Next I
activate The Regulation of Tribe! I can declare one type of monster, that type can't attack!
And since you only have one type on the field, this should be easy. Spellcaster."

Good, but not good enough Mai.

"Active trap!" I say flipping my Bandit's Seven Edged Tool. "By giving up 1000 of my life
points I can negate and destroy The Regulation of Tribe and allow my monsters to finish
you off!"

The trap card disappears from the field and my monsters attack her life points directly,
leaving her with 0. I win.

"Shorisha, Mutou Yugi!" the announcer says.

I walk to Mai and shake her hand.

"Great job Yugi. I wasn't expecting you to have that card this late in the duel. Good luck
in the next round!"

"Thanks Mai, you too. I almost activated my trap too early." I say laughing.

"Well, I'll see you later!" she says walking off.

I sigh and walk to the officials table and get my number for the semi-finals, 2. I go back to
the stands and sit next to Jou.

"Way to go Yugi! I thought Mai had you at the end!"

"She almost did."

"Why were you so flushed at the beginning of the duel? You seemed as if you wet your
pants and everyone saw it."

I look towards Anzu and she was still sitting there and next to her was still Atemu. Great,
now he's looking up here. Did he just kiss at me?! And I'm flushed again.

"Yugi?! What's wrong?! If I ever need to know what the color red looks like, I'll ask you to
think about whatever you're thinking about." Jou says jokingly to me.

"Shut up Jou." I say as I watch Kaiba duel against Otogi.

"So, have you tried to talk to her?" Jou asks out the blue.

Oh yea. Forgot. Jou does know about my crush/obsession with Anzu. He's the only one
to know. But not about the kiss with Atemu.

Dammit! There's that again!! Get out of my head kiss! And once again, the color of a
rose floods my face.

"Woah, she has THAT much of an affect on you now?!"

Yea...I can use that as an excuse. Thank you Jounouchi!

I nod eagerly and gaze towards her once again. I see her silky shoulder-length brown hair
sway gently as she talks to Jounouchi's sister, Shizuka. Her golden smile illuminating my
world, adding a little extra pep in my step! I love you Anzu!

"And there's THAT sigh again... One you've been doing for the past...I don't know 6 years!
Yugi! You have to ask her out! She's single and word is, she has feelings for you too."

"How would you know that?"

"I have a 15 year-old sister who loves to talk on the phone. Being her onii-san, I have to
monitor her calls to be sure that a deadbeat isn't trying to put the moves on her."

"Yea, or just trying to listen to see if Mai likes you back."

I looked at Jou and he too became flushed.

"So, If I ever need to know what the color..."

"Shut up Yugi. Just shut up." he says.

I laugh at him.

"Shorisha, Kaiba Seto!" I hear the announcer says. "The Semi-finals will begin in 1 hour.
Our finalists are Akeifa Nakumon, Yugi Mutou, Seto Kaiba, and Atemu Ikhras. A special
winner, from the duels, Katsuya Jounouchi has earned an automatic seat in the
national tournament. Therefore he does not have to duel in the next round. Duelers,
do not fear, the winners from the two upcoming duels will still get automatic seats into
the national tournament. In 5 minutes, the Kaiba Land theatre will show a special
exhibition centered secrets to playing the Exodia Deck and Ouija Board Deck by Mutou
Sugoruku and Bakura Ryou."

"Omedetou Jounouchi! How did that happen?" I ask wandering how in the world could
he have gotten a special seat in nationals. (AN: Congratulations)

"I never lost a single life point in my duel."

"Oh! That's right! That was in the fine print of the rules. The Gamble Deck Master strikes
again!"

We laugh. Jounouchi points behind me...for some reason...has he lost it?! What?! What's
he saying?! I can't read that! You're going too fast!

"Well I think I need to leave and catch up with Shizuka for a minute. She said she wanted
to catch the Ouija Board Deck secrets. Bye Yugi!"

He zips off. Now what was that all about? I feel something tap my shoulder. I turn
around and see Anzu standing behind me.

"Hello."
