The Labyrinth

Chapter Two-

Down the muddle brick road

Anzu eyes were wide with fear almost as she glazed onto the man before her. The man was around 5’7 with long white hair that trailed down his back. Hair was wild and untamed; his smile mimicked his hair in the same nature. Sharp canine teeth, in a sea of white, another smirk twitched at the corner of line lips.

Bakura tossed his head to the side, chocolate eyes wandered on the girl before him. He watched with great amusement as she spoke, “I want my brother back!” she begged softly, “If it is all the same I want him back, please!” Bakura couldn’t help but smirk, he ran a gloved hand through his untamed hair, “what said is said.”

“Please!” Anzu felt herself beg, she hated to beg like this. “But I didn’t mean it for Christ shake!” Being the tomboy as she was, Anzu clenched her fist as if not to lash out.

Bakura took a step forward towards the frighten girl, with a soft almost mocking voice, “Oh you didn’t now?” Once again cold brown clashed with a see of blue.

Anzu hissed slightly and lifted her head, no backing down. “Where is he?” she hissed softly.

“You know very well where he is.” Still with the soft voice, he cooed at the girl before. Once again he heard the soft begging of the girl, he reached out a leather gloved hand and brought it to the face of the child. “Anzu....” He cooed again, taunting, teasing, mocking, yes this is all that he is. “Go back to your room, play with your toys and costumes dream your dreams, and forget about the baby.” As he spoke, his fanged tooth became apparent. Again, Bakura heard a soft whimper of the girl, something about she can’t.

He took a step back, pulling out a signal card.

”What is that?” her voice began to shake as she spoke.

“It’s a card, nothing more.” He mocked her and her idiotic question. He flipped it around his fingers; the face of the card was blank. “But if you turn it this way,” He shifted the card to show an image, again he cooed, “It will show you your dreams.” He couldn’t help but grin, yes, yes accept my generous gift girl.

Again he heard the child before him asked, what is it? “This isn’t a gift for an ordinary girl, who takes care of a screaming baby.” he taunted her once more, his eyes narrowed slightly as her head raised higher at the idea. “Do you want it?” he purred gently, and extended the simple card out to the girl.

Anzu stood still, she watched the king before her. “I can’t.“She closed her eyes, why was I so foolish? Her voice began to repeat again, “Don’t you see that I can’t, I have to have my brother back!” Voice went higher at the demand, blue eyes shifted into a narrow glare.

Bakura growled in the back of his throat and glared, “you are no match for me child.” A hand clothed in leather grasped the chin of the child. Once more icy dead brown met with an alive blue, she growled back at him, “....I have to have my brother back.” that was all that she could say, fearful her voice would betray her and her fear.

With a rough yank the Goblin king let her chin go and pointed out the window, “He is there at my castle”

Anzu nodded once and begun to walk down the path, not even bothering to stay and listen. However his voice remained heavy in the air. “You have 13 hours to solve my game mortal. Such a shame....such a shame” He mocked her once more before fading into the dryness of the air.

A short breath escaped as she felt she finally ditched the goblin king. Her feet took short hops down the sandy ground to the base of the labyrinth.

Walls almost 15 feet tall aimed for the sky, some vegetation grew upwards. Small bug like things buzzed around the plants and vegetation that clung to the labyrinth walls. Thick vines trace alone the stony walls, then a few feet away is a small pond man or goblin made pound shaped in a square. A tall man like thing stood, he seemed to be taking care of the plant life outside the walls. In his hands was a small spray can of sorts, he stood waited for a small buzzing like to pass then spray it. A slight smirk on the cold face as it fell, then with a black boot kicked dirt over the fallen creature. Then repeated it down the line, spray, smirk, and kick the poor creature.

Anzu stopped for a moment to look at the tall man like thing, in a soft voice, “excuse me.... but I wa-“when she noticed he wasn’t listening, the voice became louder, “I said excuse me!”

Cold icy blue eyes drew up and towards the girl, he snorted and return to his work that he so enjoyed. “14084.” he muttered to himself.

“....do you know how to get into the labyrinth?” Anzu asked hopefully, “Hello I am talking to you!”

With a grumble he turned around and face her, long pointy ears stuck out of his dark chocolate hair, blue eyes the color of ice, and pale fair skin. “How to get into the labyrinth you say... look around idiot and you will find it.” he growled at the girl and went back to his work.

Anzu’s mouth hung open at his statement with a growl, “Look just tell me where the door is?!”

“What door?”

”the door to the labyrinth!”

”Which door?”

“GOD DAMNIT THE DOOR THAT WILL TAKE ME INSIDE!”

“...inside to where?” The elf like man smirked slightly.

Ripe red lips shifted into a snarl and a soft stomp of the foot in irritation, “Its pointless asking you anything for crying out loud!” Anzu could feel herself scream as she glared at the looming wall.

A light snort, then a reply, “Not if you ask the right question,”

Anzu paused slightly and glared at the elf, “Where is the door that leads inside the Labyrinth.”

Seto smirked and shifted a pale hand to one section of wall, and then suddenly it opened. “You get in there. However...you are a bigger fool if you walked through there.”

“I don’t really have a choice now do I?”
