Can It Be
(A/N: Forgive any typos, I have a malfunctioning keyboard and I am trying to do my best with what I have.)
/Joey's thoughts/
//Seto's thoughts//
Seto Kaiba sat under the large oak tree just a few minutes after the last bell had rung. He hoped Joey had gotten the note he'd left on his desk. The kid was sound asleep when he'd placed it there. Joey looked like he'd been up all night and Seto felt sorry for him. He saw Joey finally emerge from the building. He waved at his friends and made his way to the tree.
Joey kept his eyes on the ground as he walked. He was so tired, His dad had been screaming in a drunken fit all night and kept Joey up with all the fuss. Joey finally glanced up and saw Seto sitting under the tree.
/Kaiba.. sitting on the ground? IS he the one who wrote this note to me?/
Seto allowed a breif smile to cross his lips. He looked down at the book he had been trying to read, but finally gave up as he saw Joey comming towards him.
//So he did get it.//
A frown crossed Joey's face as he realized it was Kaiba who had written it. Kaiba was the only person on earth who could rattle Joey's cage.
/Why in the hell would Kaiba write mushy stuff to me. The whole world knows he hates my guts. This is way fucked up./
Instead of turning and running like he wanted to do, Joey instead approced Kaiba looked down at him.
"Is this seat taken? Or do I need to beg like a dog to get your attention?"
Kaiba looked at Joey and smiled softly. The rude tone in Joey's voice could be attributed to his lack of sleep the night before, but Seto would ignore it for now.
"You can sit here, Joey. I wouldn't have told you to meet me here if I expeted you to stand all aftenoon."
Joey sat down on the ground next to his enemy and leaned back against the tree. Joey sighed as a soft breeze ruffled his soft blonde hair. The sight nearly made Seto's heart beat double time. Joey was breathtakingly beautiful with his eyes closed.
Joey sighed and opened his eyes, he gave Kaiba a deadly glare.
"Just because you wrote some mushy poem, don't think that changes how I feel towards you!"
