The Calm Before....

Body

Here `tis, part 2! WARNING: no lemon, but lots and lots of citrus-flavored talk! As well as a lot of cursing at one point --- well, you'll see.......

The next morning, Yami was foraging in the refrigerator for something to eat when he noticed a slight problem nearby.

"Aibou?" he called to Yugi, who was in their room getting dressed after a shower. "Is the toaster supposed to be smoking?"

"Is the toaster supposed to be what -- yikes!" Yugi ran into the kitchen with a squeak, forcing the toaster handle up. "Aw man---" he sighed, looking in dismay at the charred remains of his Pop-Tart. "That was the last one in the box, too."

Yami, who had no idea how his hikari could eat those things in the first place, put his arms around Yugi's waist from behind. "Let's go get egg muffins or something, koi."

"Okay," Yugi said, turning around to lean against his lover, tilting his soft pink mouth up for a kiss, which Yami happily obliged him with. "Will you help me board the windows later?"

"They still say we'll get the storm?" Yami said.

Yugi nodded. "I heard it while I was getting dressed." He sighed. "I wish Grandpa were back. Not that I don't love being with you, Yami koi, but still----"

"I know, beloved," Yami murmured reassuringly, nuzzling into Yugi's soft hair. "I'd feel better if we were all together, too."

Yugi closed his eyes with a little shiver. It wasn't the approaching storm, or, at least, not just the approaching storm. He was just feeling very small and fragile, scared, really---

"Koibito, it's all right," Yami murmured, reading his little one's thoughts. "I'm here for you." He hugged Yugi closer. "Come on, chibi tenshi, I'm starving."

"A storm watch is in effect for the entire Domino City area, which will most likely be upgraded to a warning by tonight----"

Yugi glanced apprehensively at the nearby boombox. It was about one that afternoon and he, Yami and several of their friends were boarding the windows of the game shop against the approaching storm.

"Why do they say put tape on the windows, koi?" Yami asked, looking around from the window he was covering with masking tape.

"I have no idea," Yugi admitted.

"I still think you're supposed to use duct tape, Yuge," Joey Wheeler said. He and Seto Kaiba were holding a board in place as Tristian Taylor prepared to start nailing it down.

"Pup, has it occurred to you that he needs to be able to get the tape back off?" Seto reminded his lover.

"Duct tape comes off, dragon," Joey said.

"Not off glass, it doesn't," Yugi said, wincing as Tristian started hammering. "Remember the time Grandpa tried it?"

"Oh yeah," Joey said.

"Duct tape has its uses around the home, though. Right, Pup?" Seto said, winking at Joey, who blushed scarlet.

"Wouldn't that mar the finish on the bed?" Yami inquired, pseudo-innocently. "I myself think velvet rope much better for that sort of thing."

"Yami----" Now Yugi was the one blushing.

"Not if you're not in bed at the time," Seto replied casually. "I can tell you it doesn't mess up gold shower fixtures, though."

"Seto!" Joey exclaimed.

"What, puppy?" Seto inquired, mock-innocent, leaning over to kiss his lover on the mouth, then looking at Yami. "Where did you find velvet rope?"

"That craft store your cousin Jada buys beads at," Yami said nonchalantly. "They actually sell it to trim house furnishings and clothing with, but it's quite strong."

"Gods, Yami---!" Yugi's face could hardly have turned redder. Not that he hadn't liked being tied up, quite the opposite.

"Yes, koibito?" Yami inquired, doing a very bad job of playing innocent.

Tristian, meanwhile, had put his foot up on the board to help brace it, then started hammering again with a vengance.

"Tristian, you're going to hit your foot," Yugi said.

Tristian shook his head. "Nah, I know what I'm doing. Watch the master at work, Yugester."

"How did Jada know about the rope?" Seto asked Yami.

"She didn't. She trims jeans with it," Yami said. "At least, so far as she told me."

"She told you about that thing with the chocolate syrup. Remember that?" Yugi said innocently.

"As if making love isn't messy enough as it is, koi," Yami chuckled, catching Yugi and kissing him. "Not that I minded licking every last inch of your body --- or you licking every last inch of mine-----" He playfully licked the tip of Yugi's little nose.

"Yami, not here!" Yugi said, blushing and ducking away.

The former pharaoh laughed gently. "Koibito, you're so modest that it's a wonder that I've even seen your perfect little body, much less been able to claim it for mine." He tilted Yugi's chin up to look into those amethyst eyes. "And you are mine, my perfect little amethyst, my koi, my jewel, my little concubine. You didn't know that solving the puzzle would make you the pharaoh's bed slave, did you? Every inch of your soft, perfect body, mine, to caress and explore, to taste----"

"Yes, my pharaoh, forever---" Yugi whispered, trembling, eyes soft with an adoration approaching worship. It was a favorite game of theirs, but Yugi played the slave role so well that it sometimes discomfited Yami. "Do with me as you will. I live only to serve you, to give you pleasure---"

"And you do, little jewel. You give me the greatest of pleasure---" Yami kissed him again, his tongue exploring the honeyed recesses of Yugi's soft mouth, feeling his little angel tremble, melting against him----

"OWWW! OW MAN FUCK FUCK FUCK FUCK FUCK FUCK FUCK FUCK FUCK FUCK FUCK FUCK FUCK FUCK FUCK THAT FUCKING HURT OH FUCK FUCK FUCK!!!!!!!"

Startled, Yugi and Yami looked around to see Tristian hopping around holding his foot and Joey and Seto laughing hysterically.

"Tristian, are you all right?" Yugi said timidly.

"Ow shit no, I fucking hit my fucking foot with the fucking hammer!" Tristian groaned, leaning against the outside wall of the store, still holding his foot. "Man, that fucking hurt---"

"Maybe if you'd been watching what you were doing---" Seto suggested.

"You try keeping your mind on what you're doing with Yami over there practically fucking Yugi with his tongue---" Tristian groaned, sounding much nastier than he mean to because his foot still hurt. He took his shoe off to survey the damage, which fortunately wasn't serious. Just kind of painful.

"Don't mind him, pharaoh. He was taking lessons," Joey said, then had to run for it when Tristian chased after him with the shoe upraised. "That's it, Wheeler! You are dead!"

Yugi blushed scarlet and hid his face against Yami's shoulder. The pharaoh laughed and hugged him. "I love you, koibito."

Yugi looked up. "I love you too, Yami koi."

Later that afternoon, after the others had left - Tristian to pick up his girlfriend and Joey and Seto to pick up some storm supplies - Yugi was unusually quiet, almost melancholy.

"Aibou, if you don't cheer up, I am going to tie you up and tickle you," Yami finally threatened. He could have just read Yugi's mind, of course, but didn't want to intrude.

Yugi tried to smile, but it didn't work. Yami abandoned the banter and sat down on the sofa next to his little hikari, pulling Yugi into his arms.

"What's wrong, chibi tenshi?" he said gently, pressing his forehead against Yugi's.

"Nothing. It's silly," Yugi sighed.

"Not if it's bothering you this much, aibou," Yami said, tilting Yugi's chin up to look into his eyes. "Now tell me what's wrong, please? Something is."

Yugi abruptly burrowed into his darker half's arms. "Promise you'll never leave me---"

"Oh koi---" Yami held his little hikari tight. "I would never leave you, ever. It would be like abandoning half of my soul. Is that what's wrong, chibi tenshi?"

"Something awful's going to happen. I know it is---" Yugi said shakily, his voice muffled. He looked back up at his Yami, amethyst eyes frightened. "I can't shake it, I've felt like this for days now. Something terrible is going to happen, Yami!" He shuddered, gasping for air, shaking, feeling his heart racing, pounding against his ribs.

"Shhh, koibito, koibito---" Yami held his little one tightly, rubbing his back in strong, soothing circles. "You're just afraid of the storm is all. There there."

"Oh Gods, I --- I can't breathe, Yami----!" The more poor Yugi gasped for air, the less of it seemed to be filling his lungs. He wrenched away from Yami, trying to stagger to his feet, but he was so dizzy he almost fainted.

Yami caught him, pulling him back down onto the sofa and safely into his embrace. "Shhh, aibou, it's all right. It's all right. Slowly now, breathe slowly. Slowly--" Inwardly, though, he was frantic. When they'd first met, after Yugi had solved the puzzle, the little hikari had been prone to these sort of panic attacks. The last time he'd had one like this had been about a month before the disasterous duel with Pegasus, the one that ended with the older duelist taking Solomon Mutou's soul. Yami didn't like to think about that ---- he cut himself off mentally, feeling the tension drain from Yugi's small body as the little hikari started to sob, slumping into the former pharaoh's arms. "Shhh, my little amethyst, it's all right now, it's all right----"
He hoped........
