Three Years Later
*Chapter 1: Three Years Later*
“Yugi. Malik, Marik, Bakura and I are going to the movies. Wanna come?” asked Ryou over the phone.
“No thanks. Think I’ll stay home today. I……have to clean. I’ll see you later. Thanks again.”
“Yeah, no problem.”
Ryou hung up the phone after he heard the ‘click’ on the other end.
“Not coming?” asked Malik.
“No,” sighed Ryou.
“Alright. Well, we’re going to be late if we don’t head out now,” said Bakura standing.

A tall slender man wearing dark purple leather that fit like a second skin slipped his key in his lock and entered his house…well, trailer is more like it…a very large, three room, air-conditioned, luxury trailer.
This singer was quite famous in the United States and could well afford this and much more…but even with all of this, he was as miserable as a kid with no presents under the tree on Christmas morning.
He strode to the other end of the ‘home-away-from-home’ suite into the kitchen. He grabbed a tall glass and placed it on the counter as he added about an inch of orange juice and filled the rest with hard vodka. He took a large swig and winced as it burned his throat on the way down.
Sure being a celebrity was nice and easy…but his love life wasn’t.
A loud knock came at the door.
The man walked over and pressed the button on the speaker that made his voice heard on the outside.
“What?”
“Yo, Yami! I wanna discuss something with ya. You gonna let me in or do we have to talk business through these speakers?”
It was Yanni, Yami’s manager and right hand slave.
“Go away, Yanni. I’m not in the mood.”
“What? You busy or something? Hey, give her one for me, a’ight?”
Yami clenched his fists and punched the wall as hard as he could without making a hole but causing some scratches.
His teeth were tightly clenched as he growled darkly.
Why? he thought to himself. Why did I leave? Three. It’s been Three years since I left and the pain has only gotten worse with each passing day! By the gods, it hurts…I miss him so much. His face, his eyes, his sweet smelling hair, his wonderful laugh and the way he calls my name when making love…
Tears were forming in the corners of his eyes.
A thought struck him suddenly.
He ran out the door.
“Yanni, wait!”

“Did you hear that Atemu and Darkness of the Shadows is coming out with its fifth album in two days?” asked Ryou.
“No,” said Malik. “Really?”
“Yeah.”
Silence…
“I wonder how Yugi’s been lately,” asked Malik. “We haven’t really seen him for the past month.”
“Can you blame him?” asked Bakura. “It would have been their fifth anniversary in six days. He’ll most likely be down for a few weeks after that, too, as usual.”
“I still can’t believe he did that to his own hikari,” mumbled Marik. “I still think we should send him to the Shadow Realm. Do you think there’s anything we can do for Yugi?”
“I don’t know,” said Malik.
Someone started running on the street ahead of them when he suddenly stopped.
“Joey?!” said Ryou.
“Geez! It’s about time I found ya!” said Joey breathlessly.
“What? What’s going on? Is everyone alright?” asked Ryou.
“Forget that! You’re not gonna believe this!!!”
