Chapter 2
a Yugioh - Yami/Yugi story

When Yugi's mom Yui Motou returns home, can Yami save Yugi from his mother's sick abusive ways ... and from his own past?
Warning: References to the anime series 'Cowboy Bebop'.

Yugi Motou woke up by the sound of the television set being turned on. He changed out of his school uniform into a a black t-shirt and pants, and walked downstairs.
Yami must had ordered in, as there was a large pizza sitting on the living room table. Yami sat on the couch, watching television.
Yugi sat down next to Yami. "Watching television? I thought you didn't do that, Yami," he said.
"I guess I'm just bored," he said, "It's 'Cowboy Bebop', by the way."
"How much did the pizza cost?"
"....Cost?"
"YAMI! YOU DIDN'T OBLIVERATE ANOTHER PIZZA GUY, DID YOU?"
Yugi groaned as he saw Yami's smirk. "Oh, Kami-sama, Yami...."
The conversation suddenly turned to what was on the TV screen when Yami asked, "What do you think?"
"Hn?"
"Of Faye."
"Off the show?....I dunno. Sort of a slut, don't you think?"
Yami raised an eyebrow. "The way she's acting sorta seems like she's hiding something ..."
A brief image of Yui flashed through Yugi's head, but he mentally pushed it away. "What do you mean, hiding?"
"Like from the past ..." mused Yami, "She can't remember ... or is it she just doesn't want to?"
"Well, she has every right not to remember!" argued Yugi, a little louder than he intended.
"Yugi-chan...." said Yami, slightly shocked but more amused at his hikari's outburst.
"I mean, obviously something happened in her past, right?" Yugi went on, "Something horrible ... Something she just doesn't want to remember! She's afraid ... that if she remembers that horrible thing ... then ... then ... she's afraid the life she's been building will end forever! She'll lose everything if her memories come back!"
Silence filled the room. Yami flipped off the television set.
Yugi looked a total wreck from the Faye Valentine excersion - his whole body was shaking, and his breath came out in ragged pants. Yami sighed and turned his body in Yugi's direction.
"You look horrible, Yugi." said Yami.
Yugi stared blankly at his Yami.
"Eat some pizza," ordered Yami, "catch your breath, that's a good boy.
"Now, tell me about Yui Saotome Motou."
