Welcome all to another Chapter of 'Independence'. As stated in the previous chapter, we
fast forward to the end of the year, December. Jou's getting ready to leave for Kyoto. How
is Kaiba going to react?

Chapter 18: Spending Time With You

December 30. New Years Eve... I decided to spend it with Seto. This year has been...one
of its own. I finished my studies at community college and I got into Kyoto University. I'm so
happy for that. But, I'm sad in a way. I have to leave Seto and okaa-san.

Okaa-san's kinda happy that I'm leaving. She says that I get to learn how to survive on my
own.

Seto's been clingy and extremely possessive of me lately. I'm leaving in 5 days and he hasn't
failed to see me at least twice a day.

"I will miss you Katsuya." he says as we look out the window at the Sea of Japan.

"I'll miss you too."

He embraces me from behind.

"Don't go and find anyone else. If you do, I'll come to Kyoto and kill them."

"Seto! Don't do that!"

"I will. You're mine and mine alone. I don't want you to have anyone else. I love you so
much."

I'm glad to have someone who loves me this much. I've never had anyone who loved me
so much until they're almost possessive of me.

In a way, I'm kind of afraid. If something happens and we have to break up, I think he
may become my psychotic stalker...

"Seto...what will happen if we ever break up?"

"I'll never let you go or out of my sight."

"What does that mean?"

"I'll come to Kyoto. Register at the university. Take every class you're taking at the same
time you're taking them."

"You're crazy."

"Over you."

"Why? What is it about me that has you so...head over heels? You're the first person that's
ever been so in love with me."

"Because. Katsuya, you're my missing puzzle piece. Before you, I never felt like this about
anyone. Not even Naoki. I just want to be with you, be your partner, lover, for life."

"That's not answering my question." I say, wanting to know his reaction.

"Katsuya... You're sexy, smart, energetic, creative, funny, a good listener... Need more? A
great lover, you know what you want and how to get it out of me. I love that. I love that
cheerful personality of yours. It brings a smile to my face whenever I think of you. But, most
of all, I trust you. There are things about me that you know, that I've never told a soul. You
are everything I was looking for in a lover. Male or female."

"Will we be able to handle this long distance relationship?"

"Of couse! I'll come and see you every weekend! You know we'll be able to talk to
each other whenever you want. So, will you be able to handle the relationship? College is
so tempting. You could go and find another lover easily."

I don't want anyone else.

"No. I want you Seto."

"I'm glad to hear that."

Fireworks suddenly flood the night sky, signaling it's the New Year.

Seto and I kiss. He walks me backwards until we fall on the bed, just happy to be with
each other.

January 5th. I'm leaving for Kyoto today! Okaa-san was in tears when I left. I don't know
whether those were happiness or sadness... All she kept saying was that 'my baby is leaving
me'.

Seto decided to trail me with the rest of my stuff to the university. I drive on campus and see
many other students also moving into their dorms.

When I get to my dorm, Mizumoto, I luckily find 2 parks next to each other.

I get out and Seto walks behind me.

"I'm a little nervous..." I say.

"Don't be. I'll be right here waiting."

I go up to the desk.

"Hello, my name is Karim and I will be your Residence Director for this semester. What's your
name?"

"Jounouchi Katsuya..."

He mutters my name a few times while flipping through a bunch of name cards.

"Ah, here you are. You are on the 2nd floor, suite 201. Here's your key. Your Residence
Assistant should be on the floor somewhere..."

I take the key from him and go up the elevator to 201. I open the door to see that I have a
roommate. I wonder who he is. No pictures... I take a small tour of the room to see that
it has a kitchen and bathroom.

Well, looks as if we have a two-person suite...

I go back outside to my car and Seto is sitting in my car, listening to the radio.

"Hey, you're killing my battery." I say jokingly.

"Where are you going to be?"

"I'm in room 201. The elevator is right across the hall from my room." I say opening my
trunk and taking out a couple rolling suitcases.

He finally gets out and helps me with my stuff. When we get in the elevator, people are
looking at me and Seto like we have something stuck in our hair.

We make it to the room and he helps me put my stuff up as neatly as possible.

"Who's your roommate?" he asks.

"I don't know."

"If he gives you any trouble let me know."

"Don't worry... I'm kind of afraid Seto."

"Afraid of what?"

"Of how my roommate will react when he figures out my sexuality. It's not something that
comes up every day."

"So, you feel that you will try to fuck him or something?"

"No! Never! It's just people who just meet me, and know about me, somehow get afraid that
I will try something with them. The only person I want is you Seto. You know that."

"You better."

We leave and this time we take the stairs to Seto's car.

"I have to get my decal."

"Where at?"

"Police station. I'll get my id there too."

"Ok." He drives to the police station. Glad I had those campus tours.

I wait in the mile long line and finally get my decal and id. Afterwards Seto and I get something
to eat then go back to the dorm.

"When do you start at the La Mer here?"

"Next Monday. I'll be working part-time as a Shift Manager."

"You got promoted?"

"Yea. I did."

"Well, it's getting late. I'm going to work in the morning. I have a lot to do. Got kind of behind
these past few days. I wanted to make sure you had everything you needed."

"Thanks, Seto."

"I will call you as soon as I get home ok."

"Drive safely."

"I love you."

"I love you too, Seto. Bye bye."

"Bye."

He leaves and I lay in my bed, wandering who my roommate could be.

Hope you enjoyed this chapter. Since I feel like being a bad little authoress, I'll make Jou suffer
