Chapter 17: Godparents
It had been three weeks since the birth. Yami, of course, stayed at his bed side, along with the baby, at all times. Yugi had stayed under observation due to the complications and they were just doing their daily checkup.
“Well, Yugi, looks like you are doing wonderfully. The pressure has gone down so the swelling of your organs have rapidly decreased. Do you feel any pain anywhere at all?” Isis asked as she sat down on a stool.
Yugi shook his head smiling.
“No. I feel great.”
“Wonderful. I don’t see anymore reason why you should stay here. You’re free to go. Just remember to take it easy for the next week or two. Alright? If you ever feel any pressure or pain or whatever, just tell me.”
Yugi beamed.
“Really? I can go?”
Isis laughed and nodded.
Yugi sat up and stepped down from the table. It took him a second to regain his balance. He hadn’t stood or really done anything for the time he had been here.
“Would you like some help?” an associate asked.
“No, I think I’ll be alright, thanks. But do you think you could go get Yami for me? I think he went to take the baby out for a few minutes.”
“Of course.”

Yami was out on the balcony holding a bundle of blankets in his arms to his chest and bouncing it up and down while looking into her face and smiling.
“Pharaoh.”
Yami turned to see a guard come to him.
“Yes? What is it?”
The guard bowed.
“The healers have told me to fetch you. Lord Yugi wishes to see you.”
“I see. Well then, what do you say, Amunet?”
The baby laughed and squirmed in his arms as Yami laughed back.

Yugi had just pulled a new shirt onto his chest as the door opened to reveal the Pharaoh and his child.
“Yugi? Are you sure you should be up?”
Yugi smiled and nodded.
“Isis said that I could go whenever, just to take it easy for a while.”
Yami grinned and looked down to Amunet.
He held out his arms and passed the child over to her other parent.
Yugi took the infant into his wings and cradled her.
“She is adorable, isn’t she?”
“Just like you.”
Yugi looked up at Yami.
“You too.”
“The Pharaoh of Egypt is not cute.”
Yugi walked up to his as Yami put his fists to his hips and struck a broad pose and kissed his nose.
Yami blinked as Yugi chuckled.
“Cute.”
Yami shook his head as he smiled and walked up to his lover and his child, wrapping his arm around Yugi’s waist and leading him out of the room.
“Yugi!” Joey ran up to the couple. “Hey! So you’re out of the ward, huh?”
“Yup! I’m finally free.”
Seto sniggered as he walked up behind Joey.
“So, this is the famous Amunet. The Ruler of Prophecy-to-be.”
Amunet held her arms up in the other’s direction.
“Looks like she wants you to hold her Seto,” Yami noted.
Yugi held the child out.
Seto blinked at the offering.
“Go ahead,” Yugi prompted. “Give it a try.”
Seto gulped and raised his arms as he took the toddler oddly into his arms.
Yugi smiled at the sight.
“You know, Yami and I have given it some thought and we’ve decided that we would be honored if you would accept to be Amunet’s Godfather.”
Seto gasped and looked up at the duo.
“Hey! That’s great!” Joey added. “So? You’re going to accept, right?”
Seto looked back to the baby.
“I…I don’t know what to say.”
“Just say yes,” Yami laughed.
Seto smiled and nodded.
“I accept and I thank you.”
He laughed watching Amunet start to reach for his hanging bangs.

“YES!! OF COURSE I WILL!!!” Dalila screamed as she was just asked to be Amunet’s Godmother.
The other girls started to cry.
“And don’t worry. We’ll help her if the occasion ever calls for it,” Kira sniffed as the others nodded.
“Wonderful.”
The girls started to play with the baby as the parents watched in adoration.
Yugi was watching Sima tickling Amunet with her pinky finger when he felt Yami whisper in his ear.
“Come with me.”
Yami grabbed Yugi’s wrist and they both walked out to the garden and sat on a bench next to a rose bush.
Yugi leaned his head against yami’s chest as he sighed.
“Well, it’s finally over.”
“You think so?”
Yugi looked up into Yami’s closed eyes.
“She still must grow and learn to become a ruler.”
“But that shouldn’t be too hard. She’s destined to be an all powerful ruler, right? She’ll be a natural. Then again…”
“Hmm?”
“She does have your genes.”
“Meaning?” Yami asked as he opened one eye.
Yugi smiled.
“That she’ll probably be stubborn as an ox to teach.”
“You better watch it!”
Yami ruffled Yugi’s hair playfully as Yugi laughed and started to swat the hand away. He turned so he strattled Yami’s hips and laid his arms on Yami’s shoulders as Yami wrapped his arms around Yugi’s waist.
Yugi placed his brow upon the Pharaoh’s and looked into his eyes.
“I love you, Yami.”
“I love you, Yugi.”
Yami leaned up and pressed his lips to Yugi’s. Yugi fully wrapped his arms around Yami’s neck and pulled his closer and Yami did the same with Yugi’s waist.
Yugi willingly opened his mouth as Yami dove his tongue into the ever sweet cavern that was Yugi’s mouth.
As they parted, they rubbed noses causing Yami to smile and Yugi to giggle.
“Promise me?”
“What?” Yami asked.
Yugi looked deep into the Pharaoh’s eyes.
“That we’ll always be together?”
“Forever and always, love.”
And they shared another passionate kiss.
