Hate is love, love is hate

AN: I was expecting flames, but instead, you guys liked the chapter. It even made you laugh. Well, that’s great! That’s awesome!!! :)
But you all missed the line: “You don’t need to be seductive with me. I am your damn brother.” That meant that Mokuba was acting seductively, not brotherly. And he apologized later. He wanted to do something more in Seto’s study, but Kaiba stopped him with his remark. Yet it wasn’t what Mokuba really wanted at first.

Well, my precious readers, grab your popcorns or whatever and enjoy this new chapter I prepared for you!

Please read and review the thing you’ll read below.

I’ll leave you alone now.
On with the story!

---

Kaiba left Joey’s new apartment that night in the biggest silence. He didn’t want to wake the blonde. He tucked him in, taking in the image of his sleeping lover. Like nothing in the world could stop him to be happy. Like nothing in the world could separate them.

But it was all a big lie. Sorrow was in the background, lurking while they were pretending they were happy. It was all one lousy mask. They were dying without each other.

But there were other goals in life. They had to think about Mokuba’s safety and safety in general.

What’s the big deal-people would say. But just imagine two pieces of the whole separated. It’s like a car without engine, a plant without sunlight. They have to be together in order to function. That was the way they were-connected for good.

Although they were guys, and we all know their nature, Seto and Joey were odd exceptions. It was like this: They pointed at each other and said: “This is the one I want and that’s my final word”. Destiny was messing with the matter, and here they go-Dragon and Puppy, madly in love with each other. Another proof that hate was love.

Did destiny do wrong?
---

Bite marks on his neck- a several hickeys, but he was ok with it. They would keep him in life. Joey was something unforgettable.

He’d have to forget all the sorrow and pain in order to continue. He wasn’t in position to go to Joey anymore, it would bee too much risky.

You could trick Dan once, but he was a genius and you never knew with that kind of people.

Sometimes everything seemed so surreal to him, all of that they got into without purpose.

They were peaceful couple (on the surface, at least), yet there was some maniac threatening to become a really big danger.

Most of people would ask why Kaiba Seto was so scared-he was powerful enough to get rid of that pest and carry on his life. But it wasn’t that simple. Dan was something like a mad scientist, if not even worse. He knew his ways and, beside all of that, Joey wanted everything to be legal.

Kaiba could understand him. Joey was that kind of a man-he just couldn’t bear to be with somebody who had blood on his hands.

If only he knew how many of them Kaiba had already killed in the past. And he also knew that he couldn’t live in lies all his life. Someday, he would tell his lover and Joey would walk away, broken heart, totally defeated.

Kaiba’s heart stopped at that thought.

He still couldn’t calm his nerves. His body was still trembling after that orgasm Joey had given him. Every Joey’s touch was like a burning fire. Every time the blonde touched him, he was sure he would come in a second.

Joey’s sincere eyes were begging silently in darkness, to stay just a little longer. But he couldn’t. He had to go.

---

He parked the car at about 5 a.m. in the garage and ran straight to his enormous bedroom.

As soon as he got there, he collapsed on the bed, tired, miserable, helpless for the first time in many years.

He was staring at the ceiling, recalling endlessly, of his nights with Joey, his days with the blonde. Joey’s tears. Joey’s smile.

Pathetic thoughts were flooding his brain and he found himself naked all of a sudden.

His clothes were torn into pieces and he knew it was deed of his own hands. Finally he became insane. He lied on the bed, caressing cold sheets with nostalgia. His despair to be touched and loved became dangerous. He curled into a ball, shivering from fever, crying silently.

He couldn’t explain his condition-it was something totally twisted. Yet he had to do it.

In his head, he could hear Joey’s cheerful laughter. He smiled sadly at the voices in his mind.

And then-something horribly shot him in the forehead-some strange statistic that made him jump. He was struggling for air all of a sudden, unable to breathe normally. The statistic was something unexpected. He hated his calculations.

He was thinking about their happy moments and discovered they were having so little of those moments. Barely any.

And suddenly, something snapped inside. He was positive he could hear something.

He screamed.

Footsteps.

“Seto!” Mokuba ran inside, in his boxers. Kaiba gave him a pained look.

“Mokie…”

“Again, isn’t it? It got back…”

Kaiba was sobbing.

Mokuba lied next to his brother, caressing his bare arm, as Seto rested his head on Mokuba’s chest.

The brunette calmed a little.

“Mokuba…” his voice…like he was ghost.

“Do you still keep them?”

Kaiba nodded weakly.

“Where?”

“In that drawer…”

“You never told Joey, right?”

Kaiba shook his head.

Mokuba stood up, opening the drawer in Kaiba’s cupboard. It was locked, but Mokuba knew where his brother was keeping the key. It was so simple, under the cupboard.

He was looking at the medicine in his hand for a few moments, then he came back to his brother.

“Here, hold this…I’m gonna bring you water.” his hands were shaking.

He came back with the water seconds later.

Kaiba took one pill and took the glass of water from Mokuba’s shaking hands. Mokuba collapsed next to his naked brother, caressing his belly.

Kaiba placed the empty glass on the nightstand, and then he looked at his brother. His eyes were tired and terrified.

“I thought it was over with it.” Mokuba whispered.

Kaiba nodded. “Me too.”

“But it’s not.”

“It isn’t.” agreed the older.

There was one big moment of silence, before Mokuba opened his mouth again.

“How long it had been?”

“Four years since the last hysterical attack.” Kaiba cleared his throat, feeling uncomfortable.

“Tell me about it.” Mokuba was determined, caressing his brother. “Tell me what happened.”

Kaiba looked at him again, and then he closed his cerulean eyes. He swallowed his saliva.

“I don’t know…It became all of a sudden…all that helplessness…Like before. Endless helplessness and despair…and it went all blank…and then I screamed from despair…something cracked inside…” he pointed to his chest, “All those thoughts of the separation and that bastard…the thought that Joey won’t be in my arms for unlimited period of time…” Kaiba opened his eyes, caressing the worrying face of his brother with them.

“He’s like a drug. I can’t stand being without him… without his warmth, his touch…under these circumstances.

I need sex, I need touch, I need words…I need…” he was unable to finish. Mokuba hugged him, trying to prevent more sobs from Seto.

“And somehow, I know deep inside that it won’t be alright…Even without that lunatic, we don’t have chances…I know…He’s my opposite. We can’t…it’s not meant to be…and I…I love him…

…desperately.”

His entire body was trembling. Kaiba untangled from Mokuba’s arms. He was caressing the sheets.

“His body was here.” he glanced at his brother, “Entangled with mine.” he was caressing his own arms, “he was touching me…everywhere.” he smiled at the thought, “ He was fucking me senseless…it was out of love…It was pure love, Mokuba.”

“It still is.”

“I need to be touched.”

“I know.”

“I need to be loved.”

“I can hold you.”

“It’s not enough. Get out.” Kaiba was shaking his head.

Outside, the sun was rising.

“Please, Seto…Let me help you.”

“How?” his eyes were insane. “I need to be…”

“…secure.” Mokuba finished instead of him.

“I’m so fucked up…” Kaiba was shaking his head. “No…no…It’s not right…”

Mokuba pushed him gently and Kaiba lied down. Mokuba hugged him from behind.

“Now sleep, beloved brother…I’m here to protect you…”

Something flashed before Kaiba’s eyes.

It was time for Mokuba to protect his older brother…To protect him from insanity.

---
Was it possible to escape the sorrow? Was it possible to erase good memories because they were hurting him more and more, second after second?

His skin was still burning from fierce kisses and touches. They were of joy that much that they hurt. His body was aching from gentle caressing.

He refused to get up from the bed. It was warm now…even the side that was usually empty, it was warm. And Joey wanted to maintain that warmth as long as possible.

His cell phone rang. It was Seto, of course.

“Joey…”

“You sound bad.”

“I’m just tired.” Kaiba lied. Behind him was Mokuba, massaging his aching temples. He never stopped being concerned. He was fading together with his older brother.

Well, it wasn’t exactly a lie. He was tired. He was tired of everything.

“How much will it take them to destroy him? I don’t understand what’s that terrible about him that you’re scared to shit, that you come here disguised and all.” Joey caught him unready. But he knew that Joey would never be satisfied with the answers he was giving him. He wouldn’t settle before he heard the truth.

Seto was aware of that, that someday, everything’s gonna disappear. Everything’s gonna crash in front of his eyes. and he will remain blinded, there in the darkness of his loneliness. Again.

“Soon, Joey, everything’s gonna be over.” he said. “I have to go now, to finish some paperwork.” he sighed in pain. His head was about to explode. Joey’s voice in his ears was deadly.

Joey hung up first, fed up with all of that.

---

It’s been seven weeks now, without results.

Seto rarely called.

Joey was wondering if he found another man. The thought was making him mad. He was pacing restlessly in his big apartment, that wasn’t really his. He was helpless. He barely went out for a short walk or anything. It was hard to live alone, being cut off the world. Just because Seto had paranoia.

To Joey, it was ridiculous.

He was so lonely, that he started thinking about his father. He was out there, in the city, alone. Maybe he died. Maybe he was cured from alcoholism. Maybe he forgave Joseph. Or maybe the hatred was still there.

As the thought became more frequent in his mind, it became more logical to go there and confront with his past.

And that was what he was up to.

It seemed to him, that Dan was just an excuse. That Kaiba wanted to dump him. He gave him the apartment, he gave him the last sex, and never called again.

It was more than obvious. Joey laughed at himself. Then he started to cry endlessly.

He was curled up in the ball on the floor, crying, screaming even.

“I’ve been so stupid to hook up with Kaiba in the first place. How could I even think that we could forget our hatred?!”

It was like a punch in the face, the realization.

“And I fell for him so badly! Stupid, stupid mutt!” he was punching himself in the face, “Stupid me… to think, to believe…” and he passed out.

And there was another proof--love was hate.

“I hate you…” he whispered while passing out.

---

He didn’t care if anybody could see him. Especially Dan. He lowered his head and headed down the street. It was cold spring afternoon, it was raining. Gray clouds were tightly pressed one against another.

The depression was spreading among the citizens of Domino.

With his tear stained face, he was going back to his past, hoping it would wait him with the opened arms. There was no way back-every single moment in present was of the same agony as the past. It really didn’t matter.

He knocked several times weakly. The house was old and ready to ruin.

The door opened.

“Hello, father.” the blonde greeted the man in front of him.
