Here's the next chapter. I've made it a goal that I can't post the next chapter until the next one is done. Hope you enjoy.

Chapter 15: A Triple T and Tears on a Hospital Bed

Yugi smiled softly when Mai finally got the remainder of the armour off. “Doing alright now?”

“You have no idea.” Mai huffed and combed her fingers through her hair. “Thanks for the help guys.” She said to them all.

“No problem Mai.” Mokuba said and looked over the armour wearily. “I bet you’re glad to be out of it.”

“I’m going to shower now and then I’m going to sleep. Don’t be out too late Yugi. We’ll probably have an early start tomorrow.” Mai said and she wandered to the bathroom.

“Yeah yeah I know…but if we’re going by plane than I can sleep on that too.” He sighed.

She didn’t comment further and shut the bathroom door.

Kaiba led the way back to his car but they bumped into Tea on the way out. “Oh you guys are back.” She smiled at Yugi. “Going out again already?”

“I’m going to see Joey and my Grandpa.” Yugi said trying to keep a pleasant smile on his face. “How are you doing Tea?”

“I’m doing fine. Don’t you think you should rest a bit?” She asked checking him over.

Yugi genuinely smiled. “I’ll be back soon. I already have Mai breathing down my neck so you don’t need to worry.”

Tea’s face darkened a little. Yugi felt uncomfortable all of a sudden. “It’s like you’re replacing me with her.” She said tonelessly.

“What? How?” Yugi shook his head. “Nevermind, Tea I’m not replacing you. It’s just it would be safer for everyone if you stayed here where Isis can keep an eye on you.”

“I’m not that stupid Yugi. I know I’m a hindrance to you, but I want Yami back just as much as you do!” Her voice was rose with each word.

Yugi didn’t know if he should be insulted or surprised at her awareness of the situation. Surprised for her knowing about being excess baggage or insulted by her idea that she wanted Yami back just as much as he did. He stared up at her angrily. “Tea, I’m not gonna lie to you. You did cause some damage by coming with us into the past. I was grateful to have you there but Seth found us through you. As for Yami…I’m doing my hardest to get him back-.”

“But he isn’t back yet.”

That was it. Tea had officially crossed the line. “Tea Gardener, I’ll have you know I’m very tired. Exhausted to the point I shouldn’t be standing here right now arguing with you. I don’t know where you come off on saying things like that but I’ve had it. I took up the task of getting him back for one reason and one reason only.”

“What?”

“I love him.” He shouted causing people passing by to look at them. Yugi ignored them and took a deep breath. “You don’t know how much it hurt that day for him to pass through the gate. How hard it was to not be able to do anything about it.”

“But you could have said something, you could have stopped him and he would still be here…you could have done more and saved us the trouble of all of this.” She argued back.

Yugi was through. He couldn’t handle Tea at this point. “I’m not as easily possessed as you are, but I know what it’s like to have that crazy bastard in your mind alright. I couldn’t save him and I have to live with that until I get him back!” Tea looked away from him. “But…” Yugi’s voice cracked and he swallowed painfully. “I…I need to get him back Tea. I need to save him. I need him back…” He whispered and began walking away.

“Then it’s true. Yugi you could have stopped him-.”

“Not anymore Tea. Think about what you’re saying. I’ll talk to you later.” Yugi walked out of the apartment building lobby and bee-lined for Seto’s car.

“What…You alright?” Seto asked.

“Just…just go to the hospital.” Yugi said and wiped away the tears furiously from his eyes. The drive over was relatively quiet.

“Was it Tea? I saw her go in…” Seto said carefully.

“Well it wouldn’t be Seth. I’d be dead or whacked out of my mind.” Yugi said morbidly.

“Alright…give me a shout when you’re ready. Do you need a ride back to the apartment?”

“No, it really isn’t that far…I can walk back.”

Seto paused wondering if that was really a good decision.

“I’ll call if I need it.” Yugi huffed and got out of the car.

Mokuba watched Yugi walk into the hospital and sighed. “You guys have been working non-stop for this…I’m glad it’s almost over…hopefully he can get Yami back.”

Siamun looked over the endless sands and sighed. “Mana?”

The girl appeared and looked around. “What?”

“Are you holding out okay?”

“Well he hasn’t found us yet so yes. I’m doing just fine.” She was about to vanish when Siamun cleared his throat.

“There is a chance that the ritual will not work…we have to be prepared for that.”

Mana nodded gravely and vanished. She came to a well lit chamber and rested her hand on Yami’s shoulder. His wound had fully healed and he was resting peacefully. “Your little hikari is really fighting for you…”

Yugi smiled brightly when he spotted his grandfather. “Hey how is he doing now?”

“He is still stable Motou…You are doing well.” Odion said and continued to read.

Yugi looked over his grandfather and mentioned a few things to him, even though he probably couldn’t hear him, he had to. Bidding Odion farewell Yugi went off to find Joey’s room. He didn’t have much trouble he saw Serenity leaving the room. “Going home to sleep Serenity?”

“Oh hi Yugi. Yeah, I have school in the morning.” Yugi nodded. “Are you doing okay?”

“I will once I get the last item.” He said.

“Don’t become so obsessed that you forget what you’re supposed to be doing. You have to maintain your health too Yugi. And don’t worry about Joey. He’s doing fine now. He was asking about you earlier.” Serenity said and pat Yugi on the shoulder. “Well, I’ll see you when you get back.” Yugi nodded and they parted ways.

Yugi walked into the room slowly and shut his eyes tight. He had never seen Joey so pale. Opening them and walking up closer he took the seat beside the bed. “Joey?”

Familiar brown eyes drooped open. “Eh Yug…you don’t look so good.”

Yugi’s bottom lip trembled. “I’m better off than you are.” He choked.

“Nah, dis…I’ll be runnin’ circles around Seth once I’m outta here.” Joey said weakly which brought a smile to Yugi’s face. “You’ve been cryin’.”

Yugi finally let his tears go and held onto Joey’s hand. “I’m sorry Joe…This wasn’t supposed to happen.” He cried. Joey ran his fingers into Yugi’s hair and chuckled lightly.

“It’s alright Yug…I’m still here. I’m still wit ya…” Joey said with a smile. “Did you get the armour okay?”

“You wouldn’t believe what happened…well after all we’ve been through I guess this might seem normal.” Yugi said with a small smile.

“Well then it was a little above our ordinary.”

Yugi told him what happened since he was incapacitated. He went into every detail he could remember about the England trip.

“I can’t believe Red Eyes was there…that doesn’t sound like him…”

“Yeah, we were shocked about it…” Yugi said and yawned.

“So why were you upset before you got here?”

“Tea.”

“Oh.” Joey swallowed hard and sighed. “Yeah, she came to visit me yesterday. I wasn’t really out of it but, she really did blame you for what happened with Yami…”

“Yeah, I got the message tonight.”

Joey weakly shook his head. “Yug…I’ve been havin’ dreams about Seth…not good ones either.”

Yugi saddened. “Torture or other kinds?”

“The kind I don’t need…” Joey said painfully. “I told Isis…I haven’t had any since she put protection in the room…but I hope he didn’t do the same to you.”

“I have them every now and again…I just ignore it.” Yugi mumbled.

“This whole thing with Tea…” Joey sighed again. “It was bound to happen at some point Yug. You know she has a thing for him, I know you noticed.” Yugi nodded. “It would have happened sooner or later…probably better that it happened now.” Joey closed his eyes.

“I should go you need to get some rest.”

Joey smiled. “You better get some too…You’ve got more to do after you get that diamond.”

Yugi smiled. “Seto was a really big help…I think something about him changed.”

“Oh yeah? Maybe he’s growing a heart.” Joey snickered.

“You’ve got to tell him Joey…don’t let what happened with me happen with you.” Yugi said sadly. “I don’t want things to be like that for you.”

“Don’t worry about me Yug…just do what you gotta do.” Joey said and smiled at him. “Now get out, need my beauty sleep.”

Yugi pat him gently on the arm , “night Joey, I’ll be back and he’ll be with me.”

“Good to hear, good to hear…” Joey said as he drifted off to sleep. Yugi lingered only for a short while after Joey fell asleep. Looking at the clock he noticed that it was one in the morning. Sighing he left and began the walk back.

Joey opened his eyes and tears fell onto his pillow. “I don’t know if I can Yug…”

Yugi walked out of the hospital and turned to head back to the apartment. He noticed a figure waiting at the lights and slowly came to a stop. “Bakura..?”

“Hello Yugi.” Bakura greeted. “I’ve come to offer my services to you.”


Yay I have class in 4 hours and I haven't slept yet...but I had to get this done. The next one will probably be posted later on in the week and the next one not until after my Final is done but I do hope you enjoyed.

The Triple T is a reference to what the chapter was originally called "Tea's Temper Tantrum" but since I combined chapters I needed to rename but I had to make you aware in case you were wondering about the Tripe T thing.
