The Surprise Visit
Nazo no Kisu (Mysterious Kiss)
One kiss has lead to this. Can you all believe it? Welcome to Chapter 15. Thanks for all of your
support to this point! You all are the best! Well, as we left off in Chapter 14, Yugi had found out
that Jounouchi and Kaiba were responsible for Atemu's condition and Yugi told Atemu. So, what
will happen next?
Chapter 15: The Surprise Visit
Atemu and I finish talking and I lay on my bed, crying once again. I can't help it. Every time I
think of it, I can't help but to cry! It just makes me so upset!
I can't believe it though. I just can't! I know they did it! They admitted it to me earlier! I hate you
Jounouchi! I hate you Kaiba!
"Yugi? Are you ok?" I hear my mom say.
Does it look like I'm ok?! How would you feel if your 'best friend' did something like that do the one
you love?!
"Iya... It was their fault."
"Whose fault Yugi? What do you mean?" I hear dad ask.
I clear my eyes and stop crying long enough to tell them...
"Kaiba and Jounouchi did it. They beat up Atemu and caused him to literally be on 'country arrest'! He
can't even travel outside of Africa if he wanted.'
"Are you serious?! Jounouchi, wouldn't do anything like that! He's your best friend!" mom says.
Little does she know what happened within the past five hours.
"He told me. They told me. I went to tell Jou that Atemu was doing well but they were mad and then
told me everything they did. Believe it or not, Anzu put them up to do it and they were more than
happy to oblige."
Silence... Heh, had my same initial reaction when I found out...too shocked, to surprised to believe
that they would do it.
"We should call the police Ashita and tell them..."
"Iya!" I yell. "Did you forget who Kaiba's father is? It's Gozaburo Kaiba, the owner of Kaiba
Corporation. If we do tell the police and they do take any kind of action, then he won't stop until we're
living on the streets somewhere!"
My mom sighs, knowing that's the truth, and we have to live with it.
"He's right Masanori. I bet the police know that Seto-kun and Katsuya-kun did it, but of course, they
dare not to do anything to the son of one of the most powerful men in the world."
"Eventually, they will get what they deserve for what they did to him." dad says, then leaves the room.
"Masanori, wait!" yells mom the follows him.
Another week goes by and I talk to Atemu two sometimes three times a day. As for everyone else, I
no longer talk to them. Not Jou, not Kaiba, not Anzu! I don't care though. The others are ok, except
for when they are around Jou, Kaiba, or Anzu. Then they act bitchy and stuck up. I don't care though,
as long as I have Atemu, I'm fine.
Over the past week, Atemu's cousin, Seth and I have gotten to known each other. Of course neither one
of us can understand the other's language too well, so Atemu has to act the role of translator. The ironic
thing is that Atemu says that Seth looks similar to Kaiba, the same way we look similar to each other.
I've been saving up to possibly go to Egypt for a week. This week would be perfect since Worldwide is
in 2 more weeks. Now, if I can only get mom and dad's approval.
"Mom? Dad? I have something to ask you." I say walking into the living room where they are watching
a movie together.
"What is it son?" dad says turning the tv off.
I sit between them and muster up the most innocent look I can.
"What do you want Yugi?" mom says, reading me like the open book I've become.
"I was wandering if I could go to Egypt."
"What?! Why?!" They say almost at the same time.
"I want to visit Atemu. Since he can't leave, and I can, it would be perfect if I could go and surprise
him." I say, trying to convince them in any way possible. "You two can come along if you would like. I
have saved up enough for three plane tickets from here to Alexandria International Airport."
"Well, have you thought about extra spending money? Hotel expenses, food? Do you even know where
Atemu stays?" mom says, trying to talk me out of it.
"I have almost 9 thousand saved."
My parents gasp at the fact that I have saved up that much money.
"I've already calculated expenses for the three of us...and also just for me."
"We're listening." dad says sitting up a bit straighter.
"Well, I'm going to give you the single price. Round trip plane tickets are $219, Hotel expenses in a nice 3 star
hotel are $1156 for 7 days and that includes breakfast and dinner, so the only thing we'd have to go out and buy
is lunch. Atemu knows of some inexpensive restaurants in the city that serve good food. The rest is miscellaneous
money for emergencies and souveniers."
The two look at me, amazed that I actually went that far and calculated everything to the last
penny. How can they not say no?
"When do you plan on leaving?" mom asks.
"As soon as the two of you give me the ok."
"How long do you plan on being there?" asks dad.
"For about a week."
"Does Atemu know you're coming to see him?" asks mom.
"Nope, it's going to be a surprise."
"Are you going to bring us any souveniers back?" asks dad.
What the hell are all the questions for?!
"Of course...I...will."
I jump up, finally realizing that my parents have given me the ok!
"Domo arigatou gozaimasu!!" I literally scream then run upstairs.
I call the airport and confirm my flight.
(Next Day: Domino Airport)
'Flight 208 to Alexandria, Egypt will be departing in 5 minutes. All passengers should be in their
seats and ready for takeoff.'
"Well, okaa-san, I have to go! I will call you and otou-san, and jii-chan every day!"
"You take care of yourself, and we'll miss you!"
"I'll miss you too." I say hugging her and running through the gate to the plane.
I get in and take my seat. First class of course. ;-)
The 'fasten seatbelt' light comes on and off we go!
...
I wake up to a beeping noise and realize it's the 'fasten seatbelt' light. Wow, how long have I been
asleep? I remember eating lunch and watching part of the in-flight movie.
I fasten my safety belt and the plane lands smoothly. I exit the plane and look around. I'm in Egypt.
I can't believe I'm actually in Alexandria, Egypt. It's very beautiful.
(AN: I have never been to Alexandria, Egypt, I'm just guessing on all this stuff. ;) Please continue.)
I go into the airport and get my luggage. Now, where do I go. It would help if I knew Arabic. Getting
around would be much easier.
I walk outside and a cab stops at the curb. The driver gets out and helps me get my bags into the
trunk. Wow, I didn't even have to flag one down like at home, or in Tokyo.
"Where would you like to go sir?" He says in English. I'm glad for those English Language classes in
school!
I hand him a slip of paper with Atemu's address on it. He looks at it, then nods and we get into the
cab.
I look out the window, amazed at how beautiful the city is. On one side of the city is the Nile River
and the other side faces the Mediterranean Sea. We go over a long bridge which goes over the Nile. The
river is a blue-green color, which reminds me of okaa-san's eye color. I bet she would love this.
I take pictures of the Nile River and various buildings throughout the city. The cab turns onto a quiet
street, where there are some nice houses. Not the fanciest or richest, but very nice. The cab stops
in front of a single story brick house...much similar to the other houses on the street.
"We are here." he says handing me the paper with the address on it.
"Thank you." I say paying him in Egyptian pound. (AN: That's the name for Egyptian money...)
He helps me get my bags from the trunk and leaves them on the porch. I still can't believe I'm
here... Here in Africa, here in Alexandria, Egypt, here at Atemu's home.
I sigh and knock on the door.
Someone says something...sounds like his dad...in Arabic.
I knock once again. Of course since I don't know Arabic, I can't answer him.
The door opens, revealing Atemu's father on the other side.
"Kon'nichiwa." I say, smiling.
"Yugi-kun?! What are you doing here?!" He whispers.
"I came to see Atemu." I whisper back. I wonder what's going on.
"Shh, come in silently and stand near the door. Atemu is doing something very important and can't
be disturbed until he is finished."
I bring my bags in and shut the door behind me. I hear lots of talking, sounds like chanting. I hear
Atemu's voice along with another, sounds more like Seth.
Atemu's father goes to the back rooms as I sit on the floor at the door. The talking stops and I
hear laughter.
The people come closer towards the front of the house and I stand up, prepared to see Atemu once
more.
Atemu walks into the room and looks straight at me, not knowing whether or not I was an illusion.
