Chapter 14: The Truth?

January 25. It's my birthday!! I'm now 20-years-old. Only 365 more days until I'm 'legal'.

But, that's ok. I wonder what Seto has planned for me today? He's been talking about some
big gift he has for me for about a week or two now.

Of course he won't tell me.

I'm at work right now. It's one of those days I've been up and going since 7am. First with
school and afterwards, straight to work. I hadn't have time to talk to Seto and I still don't
have time since we're kind of busy here at the restaurant.

"Jou, you have someone at your table." Ikuko, the head manager yells at me.

"Ok." I say going into the dining room and to my table.

"Welcome to La Mer Restaurant. My name is Jounouchi Katsuya. What would you like to
drink?" I say placing a menu in front of the lady.

I'm so sick of saying that.

"I would like iced tea with lemon please." the lady says. "Also, I would like cheesesticks for
my appetizer."

"Ok. I'll be right back madam."

"Katu!"

Kiyo?!

I turn around to see Kiyo and Seto walking towards an empty table in my section.

"I'll be right with you two in a moment." I tell them before getting my customer's drink.

"I see Kaiba is out there." I hear one of my co-workers saying.

"Yea, and he has his child with him. He's just the cutest little boy." another co-workers replies.

"Why does he always sit in Jou's section? Why can't he ever sit in our sections?"

Jealous bastards.

"You know that he and Jou are dating."

"Does he have to rub it in that he's dating one of the most powerful men in the world?"

"It makes me wish I was gay too. Then maybe I would have a chance with him."

Not as long as I'm around.

"Yea, but if Kaiba's gay, what he's doing with a child?"

"Previous relationship I think."

"So that means he's bi?"

"Yea. I guess. But you know there's something else I heard from my dad about Kaiba."

"The company, KaibaCorp went bankrupt a few years back."

"What?! Are you lying?"

"No. I remember him talking to my mom the other day. He was telling her that Kaiba
paid a large sum of money to the media and police to keep everything quiet."

"Only a Kaiba could do that. But, if the company is bankrupt, then where does he get
all the money from? I know that Kaiba Manor is pretty expensive to maintain."

"You didn't know...but don't tell anyone I told you this, especially you-know-who..."

"You have my word.

"Seto Kaiba himself is one of the biggest drug lords in the country."

Nani?!

I mistakingly drop my tray with the cheesesticks and tea. The glass shatters and the food is
all over the floor.

I don't believe that. No. They're lying on him!

I get another order of cheesesticks and another tea and take them to the lady.

"Whenever you are ready to order dinner, let me know."

"Thank you." she says.

I go to Seto's table.

"Welcome to La Mer Restaurant. You know who I am, and what I want to do." I say
smiling at the two.

I can't get that conversation out of my mind!

"Katu! I want chicken fingers!"

"Sit down and he'll get them for you." Seto says to him.

"I'll get a lemonade for him and...Sprite for you?"

"You know it." replies Seto. "Bring us some cheesesticks for an appetizer."

"I will." I say before walking towards my other table.

"Are you ready to order madam?"

"Yes. I would like the Shrimp Alfredo please. With my salad I would like Ranch dressing."

I scribble her order down and put it in the computer.

When I get back into the kitchen, the same two co-workers who were talking about Seto
are looking oddly at me. I know they don't too much care for me and what they said must
have been a lie. I wouldn't believe them over the town liar.

I get the drinks and appetizer for Seto and Kiyo and the salad for the lady.

...

Closing...finally. I can't wait to get home.

I go to clean my tables, and Seto and Kiyo are still sitting at the table. I sit with them.

"You know we're closed." I say to Seto.

"I know. Kiyo wanted to see you."

"That's all?"

"No. I wanted to see you too."

"That's fine."

"Katu, me and daddy got this for you!" he says handing me a small wrapped box.

"Really Kiyo? What's in it?"

"Open and see!" he says.

I rip the wrapping from it and open the lid.

"It...It's...thanks. Wow!" I say looking at the ring.

"You like it Katu?!"

"I love it." I say picking it up and looking at.

Seto takes the ring from my hand and places it on my ring finger. He holds his hand up,
to show he has the exact same ring on his finger.

"Thanks, Seto. Thanks Kiyo."

"Yay! Katu like it daddy!"

"Yea. I really do." I say before standing to finish my work.

I clock out and go to the parking lot. Seto is parked next to my car.

"Following me home?" I ask as I put my apron into the backseat of my car.

"No. You're following me."

"I have to go home before my mom starts acting crazy."

"You have her permission to come with me."

"Are you sure?"

"Yes. I am. Now get in the car before I take you here."

"You wouldn't..."

"Try me."

I get in my car and follow him to Kaiba Manor. When we get there, I park behind him
and Kiyo hops out and runs to the door.

"It's 11. Shouldn't he be sleep?" I ask following the two in the door.

"Stubborn."

"Like father, like son."

The three of us go upstairs to Seto's bedroom. Kiyo starts jumping on the bed.

"Jump with me Katu." he says as he continues jumping.

"If you don't stop jumping..." Seto says looking at him.

Kiyo immediately stops. He must be scared of that stare Seto loves to give people. Kiyo's
developing one of his own...

"Come on Kiyo, it's way past your bed time."

"I want to stay up with you and Katu."

"No. It's 11:15. You need to be sleep."

"I'm not sleepy." whines Kiyo.

"You are now." Seto says going into his personal bathroom and turning the bath water on.

I sit on the floor and Kiyo bops down next to me.

"Katu? You like my daddy?"

"Yea. I do."

"Okaa-san says it's wrong for you to like my daddy because you're a man."

How am I supposed to respond to that?

"Even though you're too young to understand, I'll tell you something Kiyo. Love between
two people is not defined with whether they're a man or woman."

He looks at me oddly. Glad he does not understand that. I see he strongly takes Seto's
brains and comprehension. He thinks and talks like he's 4 or 5 and he's not even 3 yet.

"I like that you like daddy because I like you. Okaa-san don't like you. She says you
turned daddy away from her."

"Your daddy chooses who he wants to be with. Apparently his choice is me."

"Come on Kiyo." Seto says walking towards us.

He stands up and tries to take his shirt off, but his arms get entangled somehow.

"I can't do it daddy." he whines.

Guess there are some things he can't do yet.

Seto helps him out his clothes as they go into the bathroom.

I get up and lay on the bed and wait for the two as they play and sing in the bath.

"Katu?! Katu! Wake up Katu!"

I open my eyes to find Kiyo looking at my face.

"He up daddy!"

I stretch under the covers...only to find myself naked.

"I should put something on Seto..." I say looking at him.

He shrugs and throws me a pair of his boxers.

I put them on and get up.

"Morning..." I say looking out the sun-lit window.

"You sleep hard Katsuya." Seto says as I feel his body pressed against mine and his arms
wrap around the front of me, locking me in his grasp.

"We shouldn't be like this... Especially since Kiyo is in the room." I say holding his hands.

"I know. But he's told me more about what Naoki does....so this is only minor." whispers
Seto as he softly kisses my neck.

"What do you mean?" I ask as my head falls back on his shoulder.

"He said he's seen Naoki and her lover actually having sex."

"Uso."

"On more than once occasion." he replies as his hands trail lower to the morning tent in my
boxers.

"That doesn't give us reason to do it in front of him."

"If we're going to sneak in front of him, he would never know." he whispers in my ear.

"Eh..."

"It's rather simple actually."

"We're not doing it!"

"And what are you going to do about it? If you hadn't noticed, you put the boxers on
backwards. So, there's a nice opening right at the opening on my boxers. I know you feel

Yea...I do. The radio comes on and music plays. Must be 7am.
