Chapter 14: Acceptance

I watch as my friends look at me in an eerie silence.

"Katsu-chan, I'll leave now." Seto says getting up.

"No." I say holding him back. "Sit."

"It's obvious that your friends are a bit disturbed at this announcement. Me being here
only makes them even more uncomfortable."

I look at them and they look back, not knowing what to think or say...

"Congrats." Yugi says. "I'm happy for you."

"Yea. Me too." adds Anzu.

"I wouldn't have ever known if you hadn't told. We never suspected a thing." says Honda.

A wave of relief floods over me as my friends accept my relationship with Seto.

"Well, since we're doing announcements...I'm in love also." says Yugi.

Of course I already know he likes Anzu. Is he finally going to tell her?

"I love Masaki Anzu and we've been dating for 4 months now." he says extremely fast.

"Congrats you two." I say to them.

"Aww man, now I'm the only one who doesn't have a lover." says Honda as he sulks in
his chair.

"Don't worry, you'll find someone soon. The time isn't right." says Anzu as she tries to
comfort him.

I've been at Malik's for a while now. The door opens and I hear Mahado and Karim
running to the door.

"It must be their parents." I say.

Malik nods happily.

Ishizu, Shadi, Mahado, and Karim come into the den where Malik and I have been
camped for about an hour or so...

"Hey Ishizu, Shadi." I greet them.

"I hope they haven't been too much trouble for you Malik." says Ishizu.

Malik looks at his sister very doubtfully.

"Nah Isis. Our sons are the sweetest kids in the world." says Shadi as he ruffles Mahado's
hair.

Right...he should have showed up an hour ago.

"Look at what Jou gave us daddy!" yells Karim as he shows him his 10,000 yen bill.

"That's a lot of money Karim. Did Jou give you one too Mahado?"

"Yes sir." he says showing Shadi his bill.

Ishizu takes the money from them. "We're going to save this money. Come on. Let's
put this in the bank for you."

"I'll take them this time Isis. You stay here and relax. You had a hard day."

"And it's only half-over Shadi." she says sitting.

Shadi, Mahado, and Karim leave.

"Jou, I'm glad to see you out. How are things going for you and Mokuba?" asks Ishizu.

"Going much better."

"Has Shizuka had her baby yet?"

"Yes. Had him the other day. His name is Setsuya."

"I like that name. Is Otogi...."

"Don't even bring his name up. Sorry Ishizu. He's rejecting the child."

"Are you kidding?!"

I shake my head. I wish I was kidding. That bastard wants nothing to do with Setsuya.

"Calm down Jou..." says Ishizu.

"I told him I'll call Marik." says Malik.

"No. We're not calling Marik. Besides when was the last time you even heard from him?"
asks Ishizu.

"Two days ago. He stopped by when you was at work."

"Where was he headed to now?"

"Said he had a job in China. Beijing I think."

"I'm glad he's using his skills...somewhat legally as a professional hitman."

'Thanks for tuning in to Domino Today! We're here with President and CEO of Kaiba
Corp, Kaiba Seto. Thank you for joining us today.'

'My pleasure Takanawa-san.'

'Your company is doing exceptionally well this quarter with profits of 10% of sales, the
highest among gaming companies. How are you accomplishing numbers like these?'

'We have a very hard working staff that strives for nothing less than the best.'

'Today you have something to show the Duel Monsters and other card game fans?'

'Yes, today I bought the newest duel disk. This is made preferably for the game of
Duel Monsters, but it's able to recognize cards from other games such as Magic the
Gathering and Poke'mon.'

'We have some duelists here. These duelists are from beginner to expert levels and
they are trying out the new disk. So, how would you rate this new disk?'

'I love it. It's lightweight and easier to carry around than the other. I would highly
reccomend it.'

'How about you?'

'It's like playing with the first duel disk, only my arm doesn't ache for holding up
during those long intense duels.'

'Thanks. We'll be right back to Domino Today and more with our special guest,
President and CEO of KaibaCorp, Kaiba Seto.'

...

'We're back to Domino Today with Kaiba Seto. Kaiba-kun, where and when
will the newest duel disks be availiable?'

'We will be shipping 20 of the new disks to one game shop in Domino City on
Friday.'

'Where is that exclusive location?'

'Kame Game Shop. The owner, Mutou Sugoroku has allowed for me to sell the
first disks at his shop. On Monday, they will be availiable at all other game shops
for 4000 yen.'

'Now, most of the morning, you've been going on about your special someone. Is it
true that Domino City's most eligible bachelor is off the market?"

'Yes. I am.'

'Who is the lucky person Kaiba-kun?'

'His name? Jounouchi Katsuya.'

'So, you are in a homosexual relationship. How does your younger brother see you?
What type of image are you portraying to him and to others who idolize you?'

'My younger brother completely understands the situation and he's free to fall in
love with whoever he wants. The image I want to portray is to love whoever you want
to love freely without being critisized or pressured to go a certain way. It doesn't
matter if you're female, in love with another female, or in my case, male in love with
another male. You as a human being should be able to choose whoever you want to
be your life partner just as long as you're happy and comfortable with him or her.'

segment, Kaiba's doing a TV interview that's being watched by most of Domino City.
