Chapter 14

Foxglove

Otogi sighed as he held Daisy and watched Marik and Bakura talking quietly.

“We’re a block away now.” Bakura said, and Otogi nodded.

“Bakura… I think that I, umm… I want to speak to him.”

“Alright. You go, and we’ll wait.” Bakura said. “Ryou needs you.” Otogi nodded and got out of the car. He sighed and walked down the street.

“268, 269, 270, 271, 272…. 273.” He looked up at the house and sighed. “Well, here we go.” He said to Daisy. He went up to the door, and knocked. A moment later, a man answered the door.

“Ummm… may I help you?” He asked.

“Yes, I’m looking for Ryou. Is he here?” Otogi asked.

“Who are you?”

“Umm.. Bakura.” Otogi said, quickly. “Ryou had our friend, Yami, tell me to get Daisy, here.” And he held up the puppy. “She’s Ryou’s.”

“I see.” The man said, slowly. “Please come in.” Otogi followed the man inside, and sat down in the living room. “I am Akiko. Ryou’s foster father.” A woman walked in. “This is my wife, Tamaki.”

“Who is this?” she asked.

“Bakura. He brought Ryou his puppy.”

“Oh, that’s so sweet of you.” Tamaki said with a smile. “Welcome. Ryou is sick, but I’ll see if he’s up to seeing you.” And she turned and left the room. She opened the door of the bedroom and peered in to look at Ryou, who was sleeping soundly. It amazed her how much that boy could sleep.

“Ryou, you have a visitor.” She called, gently, petting Ryou’s hair.

“Hmmm?” Ryou mumbled, blinking his eyes open.

“You have a visitor.”

“I do? Who?”

“Bakura. He brought Daisy for you. OH!” She gasped as Ryou leapt from the bed, a look of excitement on his face.

“Bakura!!” He cried, running from the room and thundering down the stairs. “BAKURA!!!” He ran into the living room, and froze. Otogi slowly stood, staring at Ryou. Tamaki came in, blinking at Ryou’s shock, and Akiko looked back and forth between the two teenagers.

“Ryou…” The Green eyed boy said, and Ryou gulped.

“Otogi…..” He murmured.

“Otogi? He said he was Bakura!” Akiko gasped.

“I’m sorry.” Otogi said. “I didn’t want to lie, but…. Ryou, I HAD to talk to you!”

“Why?” Ryou snapped, glaring. “I thought you never wanted to see me again!”

“Ryou, no!!” Otogi gasped, putting Daisy down. The puppy ran straight to Ryou, who scooped her up and hugged her. “Ryou, I want to apologize.” Ryou blinked. “I’m sorry. I had no right to say those things to you. I was wrong. I was upset. And I’m sorry. Ryou, please, believe me.” And he slowly began to approach Ryou, who watched him come. Tamaki moved over to Akiko, and they exchanged looks. Otogi got to Ryou and looked him in the eyes. Ryou’s eyes widened when Otogi’s eyes filled with tears, and then, the Dice Master dropped to his knees.

“I’m so, so sorry, Ryou. I never wanted to hurt you. And I hate myself for what I said to you. Please Ryou… I love you. I’m so sorry.” Ryou blinked and held Daisy to his chest.

“ ‘Togi…..” And he slowly dropped to his knees, setting Daisy on the floor and flinging his arms around his lover’s shoulders. “I love you. And… I’m sorry I didn’t tell you…. and I’m sorry for betraying you.”

“No more than I did you, Ryou.” Otogi said, cuddling Ryou to his chest, petting his hair. “I can’t believe I was dumb enough to forget to pay him off to keep Social Services away. This is all my fault. I let him blackmail me to begin with.”

“Blackmail?” Akiko said.

“ooh…” Otogi said, and turned red.

“It’s okay.” Ryou said, standing. “These are nice people. I think they may be able to help us.”

“huh?” Otogi said, also standing.

“Help you?” Tamaki asked. “Ryou, are you in some kind of trouble?”

“Yes.” Ryou said, looking at the woman. “A man has been extorting Otogi.”

“What? How?”

“I think you should sit down.” Ryou said.

“Oh!” Otogi gasped. “Be right back!” And he ran out the front door. A few seconds later, and he returned followed by Marik and Bakura.

“BAKURA!!” Ryou cried, leaping into his yami’s arms. Bakura caught Ryou with a joyful cry and held him tightly. Marik grinned and ruffled Ryou’s hair. They all finally settled down, Ryou in Bakura’s lap.

“Well, this guy, Nakazawa is his name….” Otogi began. “He’s been extorting me. He’s a police officer. The Chief of Police. And he came up with some false documents that could get me arrested. If I didn’t want to go to jail, I had to pay him a thousand dollars every night. Either that, or…. Have sex with him….” Otogi muttered, staring at the floor. “Ryou thought I was cheating on him, and I told him what was going on, and he came with me one night. After that, Nakazawa made me pay $2000, one for me, one for Ryou, or he would have me arrested and…. Take Ryou by force. Then I went out of town on business. And when I came back, he had doubled the price. One thousand for each of us to…. Not be… raped….” Ryou buried his face into his yami’s hair, and Akiko and Tamaki clung to each other in horror. “And a thousand for me not to go to jail, and a thousand for Nakazawa to not call Social Services and have Ryou taken away. I couldn’t afford to pay that, and Ryou…. he…”

“I only wanted to help….” Ryou said in a small voice, and sniffled.

“Ryou submitted to Nakazawa.” Otogi said. “And didn’t tell me. When I got home, Nakazawa rubbed it in my face, and… I lost my temper, and said some things I shouldn’t have, and kicked Ryou out. The next night, Nakazawa came, and I told him that Ryou and I weren’t together anymore. He said I still had to pay if I didn’t want him to go rape Ryou. And I did. But…. I forgot to pay to keep Social Services away. And the next thing I knew, I had Bakura and Marik here down my throat because Ryou had been taken away. And I guess I lost my temper, and when Nakazawa came again, I…. Refused to pay him, and…….”

“We went to see Otogi…” Marik continued. “We went to his office late at night and caught Nakazawa… raping him. This was last night.” Takami and Akiko stared in horror.

“All that mattered to me at the time, was that Ryou was safe…. Probably miserable, but safe…” Otogi said, and they all jumped when Ryou burst into tears.

“NO!!! HE WAS HERE!!” Ryou cried. “He came here last night!!!” He looked at his foster parents. “That cop last night was Nakazawa!!” Tamaki’s hands flew to her mouth.

“Oh, Lord!!” She cried, and ran to Ryou. “Did he hurt you?!” And Otogi was also all over Ryou. Ryou lowered his eyes, and slowly nodded.

“Ryou!” Bakura gasped. “Hikari, what did he do?!”

“He…… he raped me………” Ryou whispered, and buried his face into Otogi’s shoulder, moving from Bakura’s arms to Otogi’s. “He said you had refused to pay for my safety, and that I was compensating for him being interrupted when he was raping you. And he said he’d be back!” And Ryou looked at Tamaki. “Please…. Help us…..” Tamaki looked at Akiko, then back at Ryou.

“Of course, sweety….” She said, petting Ryou’s cheek. “We’ll do whatever we can!” And Ryou smiled and moved away from Otogi, wrapping his arms around the woman’s neck. Tamaki blinked, then smiled and embraced Ryou.

“Thank you….” Ryou whispered.

“He raped you?” Akiko gasped, and Ryou nodded. “Well, then we can take you to the hospital, there should be traces of his, er… semen inside of you….” Ryou shook his head.

“No. He was careful.” He said. “He wore latex gloves and a condom… He made me wear some, too…. He had me sit on his jacket on the desk…. And he cleaned us up after wards and flushed everything down the toilet. He made sure not to leave any evidence.”

“Well….” Bakura said slowly, leaning back. “We have several things that we must do. We must get Ryou back where he belongs… where he will be safe.” He looked at Ryou’s foster parents. “Here’s the deal. If you refuse him entry to see Ryou when he comes back, he will probably come up with an excuse to get a warrant. The main thing is keeping Ryou from him.”

“And what do you propose?” Akiko asked.

“I think that we should get Ryou back where he belongs. With Otogi.” And here, he smiled at the Dice Master. “We move him around. Between the four of us. Otogi, me, Marik, and you all.” They all nodded their agreement with Bakura. “then, we find someone to bring that bastard out into the light. Show the world what he’s done.”

“NO!!” Ryou gasped. “No, Bakura! I… I…”

“No, Ryou…. I know that you don’t want it to be broadcasted all over that you were raped. I mean his extorting you and Otogi.” The yami said, taking Ryou’s hand, and the boy nodded and hugged his yami. Bakura smiled, patting Ryou on the back.

“Otogi… it’s time for you to get a security camera in your office.” Bakura said, and Otogi blinked.

“No… he…Bakura, it won’t work.”

“Why?”

“…….”

“Otogi?”

“I implicate him, he’ll implicate me.”

“So we have to get him to confess everything. On the tape.”

“He won’t.” Otogi said. “He’d know.” Suddenly, Ryou looked up.

“I have an idea.”
