Finally back

POV Kaiba

I couldn’t shake off the feeling that Jou wanted to tell me something, but every time he started we were interrupted.

After showering Jou and I went to the kitchen where everybody was already hovering over their breakfast.

Otogi advocated Ryou and Yugi to eat as much as they could. “What will Bakura and Yami think when they see you like this? You know, men like to have something to grab onto while…Hey, what was that for!” Otogi cried out when Ishizu kicked his leg under the table.

“I don’t want any dirty talk at my table, and don’t try to deny it. I know exactly what you were going to say.”

Otogi humphed but continued to eat without another word. Jou and I sat down too and started our breakfast.

“So Kaiba, do you think you’re ready for it, or do you need more time?” Ishizu asked.

“No, Jou helped me yesterday and I got everything memorized. We could start right now.”

Yugi’s and Ryou’s heads popped up from over their plates at that and the only woman at the table nodded.

Not half an hour later we made our way to the Ishtars’ old underground home, which had a direct connection to the pyramid where Ra’s statue was (conveniently) located. The place was creepy. It was dark and cold and the only noises one could hear were scratching, slurping, and squashing. No wonder Marik went mad. With no hope of ever leaving such a place when someone was so young…it was enough to drive the strongest man crazy. Speaking of whom, Marik was currently holding hands with Odeon who hovered protectively over him. Pft, could they be any more obvious? I hope I’m not as transparent with my feelings for Jou as those two are. But I had no time to ponder these thoughts. We had arrived at our destination.

The hall was simply impressive. Although it hadn’t been used for several thousand years, it sill held an air of majesty. It was bathed in golden light from the torches all around the room. On the far end of the room stood the grandest, most massive statue I had ever seen. The eagle head looked so real, I felt like its eyes were following my every move; I had the urge to fall to my knees and beg for forgiveness for every bad thing I had done in my life. It was like hypnotism, and I couldn’t avert my eyes.

“Not yet Kaiba, not yet,” Marik´s voice shocked me out of my trance. “Concentrate; you’re here to beg for the release of Yami’s and Bakura´s souls. Nothing else.” He gave me the robes which were supposed to be necessary for the whole thing. I didn’t really see the point of them, but at least the clothes were of fine silk, fit perfectly, and the royal blue complimented my eyes. Yes, I know I’m vain, but Jou was looking and I always wanted to look my best for him.

“Don’t forget to really focus,” Marik advised Yugi and Ryou yet again. “Concentrate on your Yamis, show them the way, lead them through the darkness with your light. And you, Kaiba…just…I don’t know what to tell you. I’m not sure what exactly will happen, but the Millennium Items should create a portal, and with that you should be able to talk to Ra or something. I do have some advice for you: Be humble, don’t talk first, and…well, to say it straight, don’t be an ass. He’s a god, after all, and he won’t care for your power or your money or your company.”

I wanted to roll my eyes. How stupid does he think I am? “You mean, I shouldn’t ask him for some Met?”

Before Marik could respond he was shoved away by Jou. “Leave him alone, he knows what to do. He’s not stupid,” Jou said harshly. He seemed to be as nervous as me.

“I…” Jou looked up at me, “I’m not wishing you good luck, because I know you don’t need it. I just wanted to,” he looked around nervously, “give you this.” With that, he stood on his tiptoes and kissed me on the cheek. “You can do it, blue eyes.” And he dashed away.

Wow, don’t tell me Jou just…oh god, he did.

“Damn Kaiba, you’re supposed to CONCENTRATE! I swear, I’m surrounded by incompetent poofs. Here! Stand here. Ryou, Yugi! You two stand right behind him. All of you on your knees…And I don’t want any funny comments about that, Otogi,” Isis said over her shoulder, successfully shutting Otogi up

I swallowed my angry remark down, but I could crush her and her whole…10.9.8…stay calm Seto, stay calm.

I did as I was instructed, as did Ryou and Yugi, but not before they cast me a last desperate, pleading glance. And for the first time ever since this whole thing had started, I got nervous. It’s up to me if this mission succeeds and if I fail…god knows what will happen to Yugi and Ryou…

Shit, Seto don’t freak out, calm down. Easier said then done, of course. The Millennium Rod felt heavy in my hand and I stared down at it. How I hated that thing. It connected me to something I didn’t understand, something I didn’t want to understand. And now it would open gates to a realm full of magic and other illogical powers.

In front of me, placed on a stone altar, were the other items, minus the Puzzle and the Ring which Yugi and Ryou carried. I despised these artefacts, but I would deal with them if it meant I could help the two of them…and, in the process, make Jou happy.

I stepped forward and elevated the rod over the other items. They began to glow and that was my cue to start.

“Great god Ra, your faithful servant is asking you for an audience. I am here to pay homage to you and ask for the completion of a wish only the strongest of gods can fulfil. Please, answer my call.”

At first it seamed like noting had happened, but then I realized that everything around me seemed to have vanished, or rather…changed. Suddenly, I wasn’t in an old pyramid anymore, but in a room that had the feel of a tropical island hotel room. There were plants everywhere, curtains of silk hung all around, and I could hear the ripple of a spring nearby. But my attention was caught by the ‘person’ in front of me. He looked almost exactly like the statue. Enormous body with the head of an eagle, but on his knees sat two human. One was female and one male. Both of them were naked expect for a short loincloth. The woman was feeding grapes to the god, rubbing her breasts on his chest, while the male was occupied with…the lower regions, which were just barley hidden by a loincloth too.

I cleared my throat. “Ahm…great god Ra…ah… your faithful…” It takes a lot to make me stutter, but seeing an enormous god with the head of an eagle making out with two humans right in front me was definitely one of these moments.

“Yes, yes, I heard you the first time. What do you want?”

Crude bastard. “I am here to ask for the release of two souls, and for them to be able to live on earth: Yami and Bakura. While neither of them is innocent, their soul mates are, and they are suffering without them. Please let them return to earth.”

“Mhh…” Was he mhhing in pleasure or in thought? It was difficult to tell, what with the human male sinking to his knees and his head disappearing under Ra’s loincloth.

It must have been both because when Ra’s claws started to pet the males head he answered, “I know who you are talking about. I have no objection to your request. However, as you said before, both of them have wronged once, and their imprisonment in the Millennium Items was their punishment. If they ever do evil again, you will be made responsible for their actions. What your payment will be will depend on the gravity of the crime. Do you still stand to your request?”

I wasn’t so sure if I trusted Bakura fully not to do something evil, but I was sure he wouldn’t risk anything that would tear him away from Ryou again. So I nodded.

“Then so be it.”

With that he and his concubines slowly faded away and I was back in the pyramid. When everything was back into focus I turned around exceptionally.

Right behind me, next to both lights, I could see two black shadows which were slowly growing to a human size - in fact they had almost the same shapes as Yami and Bakura, though they were pitch black. Suddenly the black changed to blue, red, yellow, all imaginable colors, until they all combined into a bright gold which seemed to explode from the inside. I had to turn my eyes away from the brightness. When I opened them again, Yami and Bakura ha replaced the golden shadows.

Normal POV

Ryou couldn’t believe it. Out of a golden shadow of light materialized his yami – his Bakura. He felt tears in his eyes, felt them rolling down his face, but he couldn’t lift a finger to brush them away. Time seemed to have stopped. He couldn’t hear anything, couldn’t see anything expect for the white-haired vision before his eyes.

Slowly Bakura stretched out his hand and touched Ryou´s tear-stained cheek. To feel the baby soft skin of his light...the feeling was simply overwhelming. Ryou turned his head to kiss Bakura´s palm and Bakura couldn’t help it anymore. With a sob of his own he pulled Ryou into his arms, softly moaning at the sensation. “Angel, stop crying. There’s no reason to cry anymore. I’m here now and nothing will ever separate us again,” he said while kissing his angel’s head.

Next to the oblivious pair was another one totally engrossed with each other.

Yami and Yugi were locked in a fierce embrace, kissing each other furiously. Ever since Yugi had kissed Yami while he was in Kaiba’s body, he had wondered what it would feel like to have Yami kiss his lips while in his own body. The kiss before had been good – it had been with Yami, after all- but this kiss was something else entirely. The texture of Yami’s lips was so delicious, so perfect. The arms around Yugi’s shoulders felt so strong and yet so tender. Yugi couldn’t help but press harder against Yami’s body. He wanted to have everything of it. He wanted to be consumed by it. “Oh Yami, Yami, Yami. God, please, please never leave me again. Please! I don’t think I would survive if you left me a second time.”

“Shh, calm down Aibou, I’m not going anywhere. I couldn’t leave you, for it would mean my own death too. I swear to you Yugi. From now on we will be together forever and never apart.” Yami whispered the last part against Yugi’s lips. Then he gave him a last craving kiss before he pulled away to look around, still holding onto Yugi’s body tightly.
