Unlucky number 13 is upon us readers! Does this mean bad luck for Yugi? Anyways, today Yugi gets a
rest from POV (Yugi: Huh?!) and we go to Alexandria, Egypt...

Chapter 13: Unforgotten

I want to go home. I want to go back to Domino City. I want to go back to Yugi.

I've been here in Alexandria for about 4 months now. I usually come here during the school break to
visit with my grandparents and other relatives. But, now I"m homesick. Homesick for Domino,
homesick for Yugi.

I haven't talked to him or seen him since that day in the bathroom when he was crying his heart out.

"Atemu?" My mom calls...

I get up out of my bed and go into the living room. Seth...my wonderful cousin...

Lovely...

"Hello Seth. Nice to see you."

"Well, aren't we in a happy mood."

I care not to be bothered right now...

"You have been healed for I don't know...about 3 and a half months now and you are always here
in this house. Usually when you come here from Japan, you can't stay at home."

"It's different now. I have something in Japan that I want to return to."

"Ahh, so Atemu has a lover. What's his name?"

Seth knows my sexuality...one of the few people in the world that do.

"His name is Yugi."

"So he's Japanese?"

"No, he's Egyptian with a Japanese name. Of course he's Japanese, baka."

Seth gives me a weird look. Of course, he doesn't know Japanese and didn't catch the last word.

"What does 'baka' mean? Is it something good?"

I could do nothing but laugh at him. Being quad-lingual has its advantages! I can speak English,
Japanese, French, and Arabic very fluently.

"Baka is Japanese for stupid..." I say containing my laughter to the best of my ability.

Seth thinks about it then laughs too.

"So do you have a picture of him?"

"Yea, I do." I say getting up and going into my room. Seth follows me and sits on my bed. I open up
a bag that has lots of pictures in it and spread it them out on the floor.

"Wow, you have lots of new pictures." He says kneeling to the floor and picking up pictures he didn't
see this past school break.

I pick up a picture of me and Yugi that we took near Domino Dock. It was of us standing with our backs
to the sun. It turned out to be a beautiful picture. The glow of the sunset makes him shine like the light
he is.

"Here's a picture of me and him together." I say handing Seth the picture.

He looks at it then gasps.

"He looks too much like you... That's uncanny! Are you sure he's Japanese?!"

"Yea. He is."

"Wait, I remember seeing his face on TV. He won the Japan National Tournament about the time when
you got here. You were still in a coma."

Way to go Yugi!

"There's that giddy smile again. You are in love with him. But I still can't get over the fact that he looks
so much like you." He says looking at the picture very closely.

Heh, guess he hasn't noticed any pictures of Kaiba.

"Well, I guess this one won't blow your mind either." I say holding up a picture with me and all of
Yugi's friends. Even Akefia decided to jump in.

"Who stole my look?! This is my look! There's only one Seth Ikhras in the world! And that's me!!"

I laugh as he can't believe that he has a look-a-like also. They say that everyone in the world has a
twin...

"Who is he?!"

"He is Seto Kaiba. He is the heir to Kaiba Corp. That's the company that sponsors the tournaments.

"Wait, where is he from? I know he's not Japanese. He looks Egyptian." He says pointing to Akefia.

"Cairo. His name is Akefia Nakumon. He transferred to Domino High about a year ago. He won some
kind of essay contest on why he wants to study in another country...something like that he was
telling me."

"So you're not the only Egyptian in Domino City. At least you don't feel alone. You do have someone
you can talk to."

"Technically I'm not really Egyptian. Remember I was born in Japan."

"Are you denying your roots? Your parents, my aunt and uncle, are both full blooded Egyptians! Have
you forgotten that?!"

"Iya...I mean no. I haven't. It's just sometimes its gets confusing. Japanese people say I'm too
Egyptian and Egyptians say I'm too Japanese. It gets hard sometimes on me. But Yugi, doesn't see me
as either Egyptian or Japanese. He sees me as a person. Even though he can't bring it to himself that
he IS in love with me..."

"Haven't you written him or called him?"

I shake my head. I'm too scared. Of course he can't call or write me, I haven't given him any of that
information.

"Why not?! I bet he's somewhere wandering how you're doing or if you're even still alive! Look, the
phone's right there. And here's your calling card. Now call him!"

He has a way with words... No wonder he's going into politics.

I reach on the bed and pick up the phone and calling card. I dial the numbers on the card, then Yugi's
home number.

It rings...and rings...and rings... Until...

"Moshi moshi! You have reached Ashita, Masanori, Yugi, and Sugoroku Mutou. Sorry we can't come to
the phone right now..."

I hang up, not bothering to leave a message.

"They're not there I presume."

I shake my head slowly.

"I'm not going home until you talk to Yugi. You can try back later. Now back to these pictures."

He continues looking at the pictures, especially the ones of Kaiba.

"I want to go to Domino City one day. I want to meet your friends, especially Kaiba."

"You want to know what Kaiba is like? Just take a look in the mirror." I say smiling.

"Funny... Now, don't you want to try back? It's been another hour or so."

"Are you even the least bit considerate of the time zone differential?"

He looks at me and has a defeated look on his face. I guess we both forgot about the time difference.

"Let's see...it's 7 here now and Japan is 7 hours ahead...so it's 2am there! No wonder they didn't
answer the phone! They're asleep!" I inform him. "The Mutous usually wakes up around 6am. And
that's in 4 hours. So if we stay up until 11, then that would be a great time to call and talk to them."

"And while we're waiting, you can tell me more about Yugi and play another game of Duel Monsters
with me."

I smile and tell him about Yugi, all that I care to reveal about him. Even the fact that he was dating a
female and somewhat seeing me too. Seth can't believe hardly anything I'm telling him. Not that I
blame him, you don't see this kind of stuff going on in Alexandria every day...at least I don't know that
it is...

We play a few games of Duel Monsters. I can't remember if I won more or he did. Who cares, we're
having too much fun.

I glance at the clock and see that it's 15 minutes unitl midnight. I grab the phone and my calling
card and dial as fast as my fingers could go.

One ring...two rings...

"Moshi moshi?" a confused voice says.

I bet she's wandering who's calling this time of day from this number.

"Moshi moshi, Mrs. Mutou. Is Yugi up yet?"

"Atemu?"

"Hai. This is me."

"Kami...I'm so glad you're ok! We haven't seen or heard from you in 4 months! How are things going
in Alexandria?"

"They're going great. I really miss you all and hopefully I can get the ok from my doctors to travel back
to Domino again."

"We can't wait to see you again. Let me go and get Yugi. I think he's showering...I don't know. He's
up in the house somewhere. Well, wait a minute. Let me call you back. I know you're using a calling
card and those minutes run fast. We have international calling on our phone because the shop does
business worldwide and it's nothing more for us to call you."

I wait until she gets a pen and paper and give her my phone number and hang up.

"Did you talk to him?" Seth asks, very eager to know what we never talked about.

"No. I was talking to his mother. She's going to call me back."

The phone rings and I pick up.

"Hello."

"Atemu? Hold on."

I hear lots of walking and some doors open.

'Yugi? Yugi? Telephone for you.'

'I don't want to talk okaa-san.'

'I'll just tell Atemu that you don't want to...'

"Atemu?!"

I guess he's surprised to hear from me.

"Yugi. Yes, it's me."

I feel myself become more relaxed, hearing his voice once again.

"Atemu! I'm so glad to hear from you! Where are you?!"

"I'm still in Alexandria. I'm not allowed to leave Africa or even Egypt until my doctor gives me the ok."

"It's been 4 months!"

"I know Yugi, but I can't go against doctors orders. For one, my parents won't let me..."

"And I don't want you to go against them either Atemu. It's just that it's been so long since I last
heard from you. I really miss you. As a matter of fact, everyone misses you."

That's hard to believe.

"I've been worried about you since I saw you in the hospital that day. Your body...it wasn't you. Not the
you that I know. What happened to you?"

"I was beat up. When I finished my duel, I went to get something to eat so I could watch your duel. I knew
it would take a while because of your opponent. When I walked towards the restaurant, someone covered
my eyes and mouth and beat the hell out of me. They had me tied up, blindfolded, and gagged so I couldn't
move or scream. I don't know who did it. Or why. I remember them taking the rope from my arms and
legs and taking away the blindfold. By then my eyes were too swollen to see who they were."

"Did your parents call the police?"

"They did, but so far, nothing."

*YAWN*

"Oh, I'm sorry Atemu! I forgot you're 7 hours behind me. So it's almost 1 am! I'm going to let you go,
and you can call me whenever you wake up ok. I'll be here."

"Arigatou, Yugi."

"I hope they find whoever did that to you."

"I hope so too Yugi. Ja."

"Ja ne, Atemu."

I hang up the phone and fall back with a very satisfied smile on my face. I'm glad I did get a chance to
talk to Yugi. Now I bet we both can sleep a lot easier.

"So you talked to him." Seth says looking at me.

"Yea, I did. I'm going to call him back whenever I wake up in the morning."

"Well, it looks like I'll be staying here with you for the night." Seth says as he grabs a pillow and covers
from my bed. I grab the other pillow and cover up with Seth.

"Oyasumi..." I say knowing he doesn't know what that means.

"Good night to you too Atemu."

Huh?! Did he just understand what Oyasumi meant...

I hear him snickering...as I fall asleep.
