In the end, Chazz couldn’t muster up the courage to ask Atticus for help. He had travelled all the way to the blue dorm, but when he got there he couldn’t bring himself to knock. Now it seemed all the confused slifer could do was wallow in self pity, though he wouldn’t let on he was doing so.

On top of his current cowardice, he also forgot to give back the test deck. It didn’t matter that much, as the immature spirit within seemed more interested in tormenting the ojama trio rather than bothering Chazz. Perhaps he’d bring her back anyway, after all that would make for a good enough excuse to see a certain someone again.

The Chazz grabbed the test deck and quickly stuffed it into his pocket, earning waves of grateful cheers from his ojamas. “Hey! I was in the middle of something!” Curran protested.

“Well too bad, I’m bringing you back now, ’cause I don’t need you anymore.”

Curran snorted in response, “I don’t know what your problem is, but good, I’m tired of you and your little friends anyway.”

The long walk from the red dorm to the yellow dorm proceeded in awkward silence. Curran didn’t bother to speak, and the slifer didn’t have anything to say.

Chazz didn’t bother knocking when he finally arrived, he just threw the door open. He froze when he saw his tutor leaning over the shoulder of a rather attractive obelisk girl who sat at his desk. All of a sudden, it seemed the slifer student was overcome with jealousy. So he was seeing someone else! That traitor!

The obelisk girl eyed Chazz with horror, while Bastion simply responded, “hello Chazz. I’m sorry, but I’m busy right now, you’ll have to come back later.”

Like hell he’d come back later! That cheating whore would be lucky to ever consort with the Chazz after this! Wait, what was he thinking? He shouldn’t be claiming his tutor as his own, even though he knew deep down he felt something for him. “I didn’t come here to chat! I just forgot to give back your deck today!” He then grabbed said deck and slammed it down next to the obelisk girl. “Like I’d ever come here to see you!” He barked way more forcefully than necessary as he stormed off. He didn’t even bother to close the door behind him.

That cheating playboy! Who knew he brought girls into his dorm at night?! The nerve of him! Had he no decency?! Well it didn’t matter anyway, Chazz knew he could do better, he didn’t need that despicable tutor! This little incident most definitely would NOT get to him, certainly not!

* * *

So there he was, sitting next to the shameless slut, waiting for class to end. The angry slifer managed to stay calm, as he simply would not let last night’s incident get to him. When he really thought about it, there was no reason to be angry with the ra. After all, the stupid genius of a tutor didn’t belong to the Chazz. Logically, he shouldn’t even be interested in the ra, and he shouldn’t be upset if said ra already had a girlfriend.

“Are you ready for today’s lesson?” Bastion asked, as usual.

“I hate your teaching and I hate you!” The troubled student barked. That was probably a little too direct, but at least it got the message across.

The tutor seemed taken aback by that sudden comment. “Very well. If you truly feel that way, I suppose I can arrange for you to take the exam preemptively. However, today you must fulfil the minimum requirements. Did you forget you had a test today?”

Oh right, that. No matter, if the slifer could pass this menial task, then maybe he’d actually earn his freedom! That is, only if his tutor allowed it. Why did that suddenly seem like a bad idea? “Psh, good! The sooner I get rid of you, the better!”

“I see. Just wait here until the rest of the group arrives. You can leave as soon as you finish. Don’t breeze through it just to get away from me, as I can only request an advancement to the exam if you’ve proven yourself worthy.” Bastion stated coldly.

It wasn’t long until the rest of the fusion group arrived. Without a word, Bastion handed out a few sheets of paper to each student. Once everyone had a test in hand, the tutor informed everyone, “Alright everyone, you have three hours to complete the test, though I doubt it will take that long. If you have any questions, feel free to ask.”

And so Chazz and the other failing slifers began. Surprisingly, the test wasn’t all that hard. There were only a few questions that needed only a little guess work, but on average it was simple.

Of course the black clad slifer finished first. He checked the time, only about an hour had passed. After a quick glance around, he noted that the other slifers were concentrating hard, or erasing their answers with frustration. The slackers probably didn’t even study, what fools. Anyway, now that the test was complete, there was no longer any reason to be in the presence of that ra.

“Here!” Chazz barked out.

“Thank you. By my calculations, you should be working at 92.4%. Should you achieve a grade equal to or greater than that, I’ll surely request an advancement.”

“Good! I can’t take one more day of this!” The slifer stated as he made his way to the exit. He’d study extra hard tonight to ensure his victory. Yet, he couldn't help but feel down about losing his time with his tutor. After all, he did nothing wrong.

If I don't manage to get to the beach today, I might get another up. Maybe that will make up for the lack of sense in this chapter.
