Chapter 12: Mission Kill
"Atem, we need to kill him. I just came from his house and he is awaken." Marik says to him.
"I agree. Let's do it now. Everyone will just think it's suicide, especially with all that's
been going on." adds Akeifa.
"So men, how shall we kill him? Stab? Hang? Shot? Decapitation?" asks Atem.
(Kaiba Manor)
Honda calls Jou and tells him about 'Atem Mutou'.
"He doesn't exist." says Honda.
"What?! A lie! I know what he told me!" yells Jou.
"I'm sorry Jou, but Otogi and I searched through every student file on computer and through
the cabinets. Nothing. The only Mutou we saw was Yugi."
"Thanks Honda. I'll see you later."
"If we so happen to come across anything, then we'll be sure to call and tell you."
"Ja ne."
Ja."
Jou hangs up the phone a lays back on the bed.
"A 2nd video. This one is just the one from last night. How could anyone tape us so
quickly and easily. I knew your other self said something about Akeifa and Atem and another
guy...but who are those three, really? I'm kind of suspecting Malik's involved somehow. I
called and asked him about the guy that looks like him, but I think I heard him speak about
having a twin brother or something like that."
Jou looks at Kaiba who is sound asleep.
"I won't let anyone kill you, ever. I will do whatever I can to protect you, just as you
protect me. Aishiteru, Seto." Jou says leaning over and kissing Kaiba on his lips.
He ldowndown and stares blankly at the ceiling.
"What are you thinking about Katsuya-san?"
Jou jumps up to see Kaiba once again being used as a medium.
"Nothing."
"I know you, you're thinking about something. What troubles you?"
"It's just...I'm worried about Seto. He's not doing to well, and then he's so stressed trying
to find out who the three are."
"Have you told him anything?"
"Not too much."
"Katsuya-san, whatever you do, please keep him alive. I have a bad feeling about soemthing...
about the two of you. Just be extremely careful. If he doesn't die because of natural
causes, then my soul will die and return to my body at Valley of the Kings."
"Valley of the Kings?! That's in Egypt!"
"Correct...but why is that so important?"
"I know someone who may be able to help us. He was born near Valley of the Kings and lived
there most of his life."
"I can tell."
"Tell what Seth?"
"That you love my other self. He loves you just the same. It's amazing, you remind me of
this guy I used to be with back during my time...ah I'm talking fooly."ly."
"No, you're not talking foolishly."
"Talking foolishly about what?"
"Nothing! Nothing! You were just talking in your sleep is all."
"Go to sleep koi. We have a lot to do in the morning." says Kaiba patting the bed.
"I...I'm fine. I'm not sleepy now anyways."
"Fine, suit yourself." Kaiba says turning his back and falling asleep.
Jou turns off the light and lays down next to Kaiba.
'If what Seth said is true, then we have no time to rest. I must look out for your safety. I'm
sorry, it's just something you can't understand right now.'
Jou finally goes to sleep. The bedroom door opens silently. Six footprint indentions creep closer
to the bed. The overs mvoe off Kaiba as his hands are lifted. He takes a teep breath, then goes
back into a deep sleep. Something is placed in Kaiba's right hand as his left wrist begins to bleed.
Six indentions creep closer to the foor and leave just as qickly and silently as they came.

Three men walk into an apartment, laughing, celebrating...
"Now, by the time his lvoer awakens, he would have bled to death!" says Atem.
"Why couldn't we have just shot him?" asks Marik. "It would have been much quicker."
"You idiot! The gunshot would have awoken the other one!" scolds Akeifa.
"Well anyways, that was some great stuff you made Atem." comments Marik.
"Being best friends wih a master sorcerer has ada adantages." replies Atem, winking.
"All that's left to do is to wait until morning for the announcement of his death." says Akeifa as he
leaves Marik and Atem in the living room.
