Chapter 11
Yusei broke the kiss gently, sensing someone standing outside his protective wings. His hands slid to the small of Aki’s back, holding her close as he slowly lowered his wings. Aki leaned her head on Yusei’s warm chest, her arms draped loosely around Yusei’s shoulders. Yusei turned his head to the right and saw Martha standing a few feet away, watching the two with a gentle smile on her face.
“Yusei, Jack called. Him and two others are flying over in a helicopter to bring over your boys’ D-Wheels,” Martha said, the warm smile never leaving her eyes. Yusei nodded and unwillingly let go of Aki. The moment had been too short in his opinion, but at least he had reached her finally. Aki looked up at Yusei and released her hold on him, leaning close still and holding his one arm. The angel wrapped said arm around her waist and they walked to the house to wait for their guests.

“Jack!” Martha shouted as a helicopter landed in front of her house, bustling out the front door and bringing Yusei’s foster brother and one of his best friends into a crushing hug. Jack gasped as she let go, rubbing his sore ribs. “That’s what you get for abandoning your friends!” she said sternly, knowing her embrace had been painful. Jack nodded solemnly. Lesson learned.
“Jack.” The blond-haired young man looked up at his angel brother. Yusei looked at him with warmer eyes than before their duel, but colder eyes than their last meeting. Yusei motioned his head to someone behind the blond man, causing Jack to look over his shoulder. Ushio had just gotten out of the copter, having shut its systems down.
“He’s one of us, don’t worry pal,” Jack said simply, knowing what Yusei’s apprhensions were about. Yusei’s look hardened as he glanced in Ushio’s direction, and the Security officer submissively looked away, showing his shame at his previous actions towards Satellites. The angel’s eyes softened and he sighed.
“Godwin know you two have joined us?” Yusei asked stiffly. Ushio shook his head.
“We’ve kept it secret. Figured you’d need an inside man. Mikage might not be trusted, she Godwin knows how she feels toward Jack. But I can keep up the intolerant act in order to fool that dictator. Can’t believe I fell for his lies...” the officer grumbled sourly. Jack growled.
“You’re not the only one. I’m ashamed of myself too. He played me like a fool, and if it wasn’t for Yusei, I’d still be a lost cause,” the ex-King spat. Yusei stepped forward, drawing everyone’s attention back to the matter at hand.
“Mikage, tell Godwin that I’d like to meet with him. I need to try to reach him before we try to reunite the city by force if necessary. I’d rather avoid conflict, but if I’m forced, I will dethrone that tyrant and save his brainwashed subjects,” Yusei strongly declared. The others nodded, seeing just how strong Yusei’s convictions were for the first time.
“I’ll pretend to be against the idea to keep up the act,” Ushio said.
“Act like you didn’t even know, that I spoke to Migake privately against your wishes. It will be more believable that way,” the angel warned, not wanting his newest ally to be harmed by the vicious director. Ushio nodded.
“Will do, sir,” he agreed, swearing his allegiance to the revolt at the same time. Yusei nodded and the two Security personnel boarded the helicopter once again and took off for New Domino City.
