Chapter 10: Save Me
Yugi was out in the bar, once again, feeling worse than when he started. He was walking while holding his stomach in pain and nausea as he moaned constantly.
“Hey, check this out,” said one man as he elbowed his friend in the ribs.
“Some dude just got trashed and look at him now. Man, but he’s a sorry bastard.”
The man’s friend turned around to look at the said man when his eyes grew.
“Yugi?!”
“Ramrik, you know that pathetic son of a bitch?”
“Yeah, actually. I do. He’s that one I was telling you and the guys about that was taking so damn long to come around.”
“No shit!” laughed Mac.
Ramrik watched as Yugi stumbled and tripped and bumped into person after person after rude person.
“Hey, Mac…I got an idea. Tell the others I’m leaving early tonight.”

Yami sat with the ‘note’ in his hand not really knowing what to do.
‘I don’t know if he’s still there at that Ra’s forsaken bar. They said that he had left so there’s no point in looking for him there. What in Ra’s name do I do?!’ Yami yelled to himself.
His head had been hurting for a while now but he brushed it off.
“Do either of you know where he could have gone?”
They all shook their heads.
“No. I doubt that he would come here,” said Mai, “or to any one of our houses so he could be anywhere I the city.”
“That’s just great,” Yami grumbled.
His head was now booming with such pain. He lifted his hand to his brow as hice sce scrunched up.
“Hey, are you okay?” asked Ryou.
“My head hurts so badly…it won’t stop.”
“Do you want some medicine?” asked Duke.
“Please.”

Yugi was now wondering down the street totally and completely drunk and disoriented. He staggered on the sidewalk.
‘W-Where can I go? I can’t go home…I can’t go to any of my friends’......where can I…’
His thoughts were suddenly cut off. A hand wrapped itself around his mouth as the arm pulled him into the dark ally.
He squirmed and kicked franticly trying to get away but all his energy was gone and his muscles ached. Yugi felt himself being pressed against a warm body. He felt a hot breath on his ear as the man whispered…
“Now, Little Yugi…you’ll finally be mine in more ways than one…”
Yugi’s eyes grew wide as he recognized the voice.
‘Ramrik!’
Suddenly, Yugi was pushed down, his back on the cold, wet ground, his hands being pinned above his head by one hand, his knees being pinned by two other legs.
He again tried to free himself but couldn’t summon the energy.
The attacker’s face adopted a sinister grin that only could be defined as pure evil.
“Time to play…”
He leaned down and harshly kissed Yugi’s lips, bruising the small angel.
As he let up for breath, Yugi used what energy he had left to scream…
“YAMI!!!”

“Yami? Yami what’s wrong?!” asked a frantic Joey.
Yami was staggering on his own feet as both arms were wrapped firmly around his head.
‘Why does my head hurt so much?!! Make it stop! Ra make it stop!!!’
“Yami! Yami answer me!”
He could barely hear Joey screaming for him.
Yami unexpectedly felt a pulling sensation on his soul like something was calling to him. He relaxed his tightly shut eyes and let the sensation overwhelm his entire being.
The pulling stopped and he then felt slightly cold.
He opened his eyes as he found himself in a dark abyss of nothingness…this was Yami and Yugi’s shared soul room. The space that separated the two rooms.
He saw a white light off in the distance.
He guarded his eyes from it.
‘What…what is that light?’
Again, the pulling started on his being as he was unwillingly drawn to it. As soon as Yami hit the light, an enormous amount of pain racked his body as he screamed out. He grabbed his head, similar to before, as pressure built up.
Then he heard the faintest of noises.
/…i…/
“What?” Yami asked the light.
/…i…/
“I…I can’t hear you…who are you?...”
/…mi…/
The pain stopped as he was thrust into another area, this one covered in light blue, soft red and dark purple.
Yami looked around in fascination…
‘This is Yugi’s roo room!!!!!’
He again heard the voice.
/…ami!.../
“Where is that coming from?”
/…ami!.../
It then dawned on the Pharaoh that it was Yugi that was calling out to him through their mind link.
//Yugi!//
/Yami! Help me, please!/
//Where are you, Yugi?!//
/Yami, you’re never here when I need you! I loved you so much and now I’m being hurt again and you’re not here to stop it! I need you! I’ve always needed you…but you’re never there anymore…why?...WHY, DAMN IT? WHY??!!!!!!!!!!/
//Yugi!//
“Why can’t he hear me?!” Yami cried as tears filled his eyes.
Yami searched through the link to try and find something that could point him toward Yugi.
He stumbled upon a small window where he saw Yugi on the ground of a dark ally, his shirt removed and forgotten as the man over him was straddling his light.
“Yugi!!!”
/Yami, why are you never here?/
//I’m here, Hikari! Here! Why can’t you hear me?!!//
Yami again felt a pulling stir, this time pulling him back to the real world.
‘No! Not yet! Please, Ra! Not yet!’
The last thing Yami heard was Yugi whisper,
/Yami…please, for once…save me…/
“YUGI!!!!!!”
The Pharaoh yelled as he was brought back to reality and just in time to be slapped in the face by Joey.
“Yami? Are you awake?!”
“Yes, Joey! Thanks for the wake up call!”
“Are you okay, Yami? You looked like you were having a seizure!” said Ryou.
“I’m fine, but Yugi isn’t! Someone’s hurting him right now! I have to find him!”
He burst out the door and started running down the road.
(I’m not a perfect person
There’s many things I wish I didn’t do)
//Yugi? Yugi, can you hear me?//
‘Damn, his emotions are blocking me from his mind!’
(But I continue learning
I never meant to do those things to you)
Yami slid as he stopped and continued down another sidewalk.
‘Hikari, where are you?!’
(And so I have to say before I go
That I just want you to know…)
Sweat and tears slipped off his body as he ran faster.
(I found a reason for me
To change who I use to be)
“Yo Yami, wait up!” yelled Joey as he and the others weren’t too far behind.
(A reason to start over new
And the reason is you)
‘No, I won’t slow down! And I won’t stop! Not until I know that my Hikari is safe!’
//Yugi, please answer me!//
(I’m sorry that I hurt you
It’s something I must live with everyday)
‘Hikari, I’m so sorry that I left. I don’t know what I was thinking. I never meant to hurt you like I did. You said that I’m never here anymore. I’m here now and I will save you or this pathetic life of mine won’t be worth living!’
(And all the pain I put you through

And be the one who catches all your tears)
Yami then heard a loud ear piercing screech not too far off. A few blocks up.
He ran faster and harder as he came to the mouth of the ally to find Yugi on the ground, screaming, with Ramrik on top of him.
(That’s why I need you to hear…)
Yami, rage overwhelming his entire being shoved himself against Ramrik knocking him to the ground.
(I found a reason for me)
Yugi clawed his way against a wall and balled himself up as his shed tears kept falling uncontrollably.
(To change who I use to be)
Yami was punching and kicking the man with all the force left within himself.
(A reason to start over new)
Ramrik was now knocked out cold. Yami threw him to the ground and stared at the disgusting, foul, hell bound creature before him. He lifted his hand as he felt a wave of Shadow Realm magic creep its way to the said place…and he fired.
(And the reason is you

Yami slowly walked over to Yugi, sitting against the wall in a fetal position.
He reached out and touched Yugi on the shoulder, He jumped and raised his head, fear and utter horror clearly in his eyes.

Yami recoiled his hand slightly as he sensed his light’s fear.
“Yugi…it’s alright now. I’m here.”
(I’m not a perfect person)
Yugi’s eyes didn’t change as his head started to shake gradually.
(I never meant to do those things to you)
/No…/ he whispered through the link, unknown to him.
/No you’re not. You’re never here. Not anymore./
(And so I have to say before I go)
Yami, who heard the ‘said’ words, again tried to reach for the boy.
“Yugi…”
(That I just want you to know)
Yugi quickly stood and ran as fast as he possibly could out of the ally and past his group of friends whom had just started to catch up.
(I found a reason for me

Yami ran out as well.
“Yugi, wait!”
“Hey, Yami? What happened? Is Yug aright?” asked Joey but Yami didn’t pay any attention to the question as he ran to catch up with the other.

Yugi opened the door to the shop and slammed it behind himself. He pressed up against it as Yami tried to open it as well.
“Yugi! Yugi, let me in! Please! Yugi!”
(I found a reason to show)
Yugi locked the door and ran up stairs to his room as he threw himself on his bed.
(A side of me you didn’t know)
“YUGI! PLEASE! LET ME IN!” Yami kept yelling and banging on the door.
“Yami, what the hell’s going on?!” said Marik as he and the others ran up to him.
( A reason for all that I do)
‘Yugi please…’ he pleaded.
‘…please…what do I have to do?...’
