Chapter 10 Can Three be One?


"Devlin's Game Shop, Tristan speaking how can I help you?"


Duke watched Krisworkwork from where he was putting merchandise out on a shelf. He may
not have hi a a lover but he turned out to be a great at his job. At work he gave all he
had and even away from work they have gotten along better, even around Serenity. They have been able to hang out together without the two boys fighting.

'I just wish.' Duke thought to himself.

"Hey Duke, time to close up. Serenity is already upstairs in your apartment with popcorn
and movies." Tristan called from the front door as he locked it and turned the open sign
off.

"OK Tristan. I'll be up in a moment."

Duke finished putting out the merchandise he was shelving, then closed out the register
making the days deposit to put into the safe and take to the bank in the morning.

Unknown to Duke Serenity and Tristan were having a serious conversation about the three of them and the situation they found themselves in.

Tristan and Serenity were sitting on the couch facing each other.

"Tristan do you think a person can be in love with two people at the same time?"

"I'm sure it can happen. Are we talking about Joey?"

"No, we're talking about us. Me, you, and Duke."

"Huh?"

"I love both of you and I can't bring myself to chose between the two of you. I can't see
myself without either of you in my life. Also you two have quit fighting over me so that
tells me that this could work out with the three of us."

"You want me to share you with Duke so you can date both of us at the same time?"

"No not like that. I want all three of us to be in a relationship together. All of us
sharing equally together. I know Duke has feelings for you, I would even say that he
loves you as much as I love you. I can tell by the way he looks at you when he thinks
no one is watching him."

"Have you talked to Duke about this?"

"No, I haven't. You are the stubborn one in this situation."

"So you love me. You think Duke has felling for me. That this three person relationship
depends on me."

"Yes."

"Come here Serenity." Serenity scooted across the couch closer to him. Tristan bent down
and kissed her deeply. He ran his toung across her lower lip demanding entrance and she gave up to him, making the kiss even deeper. When they broke the kiss to breath he looked her in the eye. "You love me?" She nodded "You love Duke?" Shddeddded again. "OK, let me think about this for a while."

Tristan got up and moved to window seat that looked over the small yard and alley behind the shop. He put his hands in his pockets and stood there thinking. 'I've been with guys before, so that doesn't bother me. I love Serenity I would do almost anything to make her happy. But Duke, yes he's good looking and a good friend and I care about what happens to him. But do I love him? How do I feel about him?' these thoughts kept chasing each other in his head until he heard Duke come up the stairs.

Tristan turned to watch Duke enter the living room. Duke froze when he came into the room. He was almost afraid to break the silence.

Tristan was the one to break the silence. "Duke come here please?" Duke walked over to were he stood by the window seat. "Sit down Duke." Duke sat down and looked at Tristan with curiosity and a little fear.

"Our girl Serenity there," Kristin pointed to Serenity where she sat on the couch. "Thinks
we all should be in a relationship together."

"R-Really?"

"She says she loves both of us, equally. And that you have feeling for me also. Do you love Serenity?"

"Yes, I love her."

"And me, how do you feel about me?"

"I love you."

Tristan took a step back. "You love me?"

Duke stood and looked up in to Tristan's eyes, 'now or never' he thought to himself. "Yes
Tristan I love you and I love Serenity." Then he pulled on the front of Tristan's shirt
and kissed him. The kiss turned hot faster that he expected as Kristin took control of
the kiss and pushed him back down on the window seat.

When Tristan broke the kiss he stepped back again "I need to think about this." Tristan
headed towards the outside door. He stopped and looked from Serenity to Duke "I'll be back tonight. I promise." Then he walked out.

Duke sat there and watched the door close, then he felt Serenity next to him "He'll be back
soon." she said as she hugged him. Then they settled on the window seat to look out at the night sky.

Tristan walked around the neighborhood for almost an hour lost in his thoughts. He loved
Serenity, he didn't have a problem with sleeping with guys or threesomes, he did both with
Ryou and Bakura. Duke, hs ths the confusing part. 'Damn that was a hot kiss' he thought
to himself. 'I must have some feelings for him to have taken control like that.' He hadn't
expected to like the kiss let alone get lost in it.

The worse part of this situation was he couldn't talk to his best friend about the situation.
Joey would kill him and then Duke for thinking about having that type of relationship with
his little sister. No way he would believe that the idea had been her's. He was not ready
to die so talking to Joey was out of the question.

"Tristan!!!!" Two voices yelled in both ears.

Tristan jumped into the air and looked behind him and saw Yami and Bakura standing there and laughing at him.

"Sorry guys. I was thinking."

"So we saw" Yami said with a smile "Did it hurt?" Tristan gave Yami a dirty look.

"So what ya thinking about?" Bakura asked Tristan as they started walking again.

"Serenity, Duke, threesomes."

Yami and Bakura both stopped dead in their tracks, stunned at Tristan's answer. Tristan
stopped and looked over his shoulder at his two friends.

"I think Joey will kill you."

"Duh Yami, you think?" Bakura said sarcastically.

"Great you both can come to my funeral."

Bakura stepped up to Kristin "OK buddy I know you don't have a problem with the guy on guy thing or the threesome thing. So what's the problem?"

"How do you know that those things don't bother him?" asked Yami

Tristan turned an interesting shade of red as Bakura answered "Let's just say that Tristan,
Ryou and I had a few hours of fun last summer."

Yami just stood there shocked for the second time within a few minutes. "You mean you...
with Bakura and Ryou. Why not us? Yugi and I would have welcomed your company."

Tristan turned even redder and looked down to the ground, trying to find the words to say
ttherthere was no way he could look at Yugi that way that wouldn't piss off Yami. "It
just kinda of happened." he whispered.

"Hey Yami let him be he has other problems right now."

"Fine whatever." Yami said with a pout.

Bakura stopped them in front of the coffee house and dragged Tristan into it with him,
Yami followed. It was crowded but there was a round table in a back corner. "Sit here
and wait." Bakura ordered as he pushed Tristan into a chair in the corner. He sat there
and watched the people around him. Just when he thought it was safe enough to sneak out
Yami and Bakura came back to the table with three coffees and a plate of cookies. Once
the other two boys were sitting down, they looked at Tristan waiting for him to say
something. Tristan just added some cream to his coffee and took a sip.

"Well?" Bakura finally asked

"Serenity has made her choice. I guess."

"You guess?" Yami asked and took a sip of his coffee

"Tonight Serenity approached me and told me that she loves both Duke and I. That she wants a three way relationship with us. She also said that Duke had feelings for me."

"Does he?" Bakura asked leaning forward.

"He said he loved me. And kissed me. I had to get out of there and think."

"You just left them there?" Tristan nodded. "I hope for you that they have calmer tempers
than Yugi or your going to be out in the cold for a while."

Tristan leaned back in his seat. "How did I miss the fact that he loves me? Were there
signs that I missed?"

"Well, he is protective of your feelings." Yami answered

"Huh?"

"Well, remember last week at the movies. Tea started to rag on you about something and Serenity came to your rescue, pul pulled you away and told Tea to back off." Tristan
nodded for Yami to continue "Duke sent her in and then pulled Tea aside when the two of
you had walked off and explained to Tea that she stepped over the line and she was angry at the wrong person."

"So what do I do?"

"That's easy Tristan." Bakura said

"Easy? How?"

"OK, close your eyes" Tristan looked at Bakura with a raised eye brow. "Man this is for you
trust me. Close your eyes, Yami will protect you from me."

"Fine." Tristan sighed as hosedosed his eyes.

"Now say the first thing that comes into your mind."

"Beautiful."

"Serenity."

"Playful."

"Duke."

"Hot kisses."

"Duke."

"Long hot baths with."

"Serenity."

"Love."

"Both."

There was a long pause, "Did I just say I love them both?" Tristan asked as he opened his
eyes.

"Yes, you did. Didn't he Yami."

"Saw and heard."
ow cow can I be in love with two people?"

"Who cares?" Said Bakura "It's love. Love is hard to come by so go for it."

"What is this about love Bakura, do I need to worry?" a soft tenor voice said from behind
Bakura as arms slipped around his shoulders from behind him.

"Hello Ryou, Yugi." Tristan smiled at his two friends. "Bakura and Yami were just
helping me out with a situation that I'm in."

"Really?" Yugi asked as he sat in Yami's lap.

"Yes, really." Yami chuckled as he hugged Yugi to him.

"Well, I need to get back. I promised them I would be back tonight and it has been two
hours."

"Good Luck." Bakura and Yami said together.

Tristan ran out of the coffee shop with a smile on his face. Ryou moved into the empty
seat. "Bakura what was that all about?"

"Nothing to concern yourself about Ryou." He answered "So what do you two have planned for
us tonight?"

"How do the two of you feel about whip cream?" Yugi asked with a gr

So will Tristan, Serenity and Duke come to an understanding. Wait and see.
