Project: Destiny
Chapter Ten
by Ravenx

“I’m bored. What do you say we sneak off, Alley?” Valon’s thick accent bounces off the clean white walls.

The brown haired boy sits at a long glass table in a white painted wooden chair, his black leather covered legs crossed at the ankles under the table. A tight black tank top hugs his chest as his leather biker’s jacket hangs on the back of the chair. His bright blue eyes shine as he looks beside him to the taller red head that leans forward with his arms crossed over the glass, his chin resting on his arm, light gray eyes staring across the room. His tight white tank top rides half way up his back to show off creamy skin, dark blue boxers peaking out from his black jeans.

“We have to wait here.” Alistar mumbles.

“Why?” Valon pouts, his eyes trailing down the lean back of his lover.

“Cause we have to be informed about what’s going on.”

“Then why isn’t the boss here already?”

“Don’t know.”

“Why did we have to come so early?”

“Don’t know.”

“We could have continued what we were doing.” One of Valon’s hands reaches out to rub circles on Alistar’s back.

“Not now, Val.”

“Why not?”

“Because I’ve warned you about doing that out in the open. I don’t like walking in on it.” Rafael’s deep voice enters the room as the large blonde closes a door behind him and moves into the room.

“You just keep showing up at the worst times, don’t you?” Valon sneers as he watches the blonde sit across from him.

“Please don’t start anything, you two.” Alistar groans.

“I haven’t said anything. You should talk to your boyfriend about keeping his mouth shut.” Rafael smirks.

“Why you!” Valon stands up quickly, his chair sliding back across the white tiles of the floor.

“Val, sit down.”

“Yeah, Val, sit down” Rafael mokes.

“Rafael, stop it.” Alistar reaches out to pull at the waistband of Valon’s pants. “Sit down, Val.”

“Let me go, Alley, I’m going to kick his ass.”

“I’d like to see you try, short stuff.”

“Don’t call me short stuff!”

“Why not? That’s what you are.”

“Rafael, stop.” The red head growls softly.

“Yes, Rafael. Please do not encourage a fight.” A new voice floats into the room.

The three boys turn to look at the door where a tall, lean man stands, his long teal colored hair hanging in a loose ponytail down to his knees. A neatly pressed light gray suit covers his body, the jacket open to reveal a shiny white tie over a pale blue button up shirt. His polished black dress shoes click across the white tile floor as he moves over to the end of the table, a small smile on his lips as he sits down.

“Hey, boss.” Valon nods his head at the taller teal haired man as he sits back down next to Alistar.

“Hello, Valon. Being your usual naughty self I see.”

“Rafael started it.” The brunette mumbles under his breath, his arms crossing over his chest.

“I did not, you little…”

“Rafael.” Dartz warns.

“Gomen, boss.”

“Why did you want to meet with us, boss?” Alistar asks.

“They are ready to go back home.”

“Really? It’s only been a week are you sure they are ready?” Rafael looks toward the teal haired man.

“Yes. Everything has been done. They are all perfectly healthy and ready to go. Besides I don’t want to keep them on sedatives any longer than necessary.”

“So what are we going to do?” Valon’s bright blue eyes look over at Dartz.

“Drop them off at their home.”

“Which home? Or are we going to dump them off at each of their houses?”

“Where are their lovers at?” A teal and a golden eye look over to the larger blonde.

“The last I check they were at Ryou’s house except for Kaiba. He still goes home to take care of his little brother.”

“Then take them all to Ryou’s house. I’m sure Kaiba will drop everything to go take care of his lover as soon as he hears where he is.” Dartz nods his head.

“Do we need to do anything special?” The red head taps his fingers silently on the glass table.

“No. Just drop them off but do be gentle. They will already be slightly sore when they wake up, you don’t need to cause anymore discomfort for them.”

“I’m guessing we aren’t to let their lovers know we’re there.” Valon says.

“Correct. Gently dispose of them on the porch and leave. You may knock if you are sure you can get away in time. I do not want them to know what we have been up to until it is too late. Understood?”

“Yes, boss.”

“Yes, sir.”

“Whatever you say, Dr. D.”

“Man I’m tired.” Marik plops face down across the white sofa in the living room, his pale blonde hair cascading over his tanned face.

“You ain’t the only one.” Bakura sighs, his body falling gracefully into the closest overstuffed white chair.

“Get up you two. We’re going back out in a minute.” Yami walks through the room to the swinging door leading to the kitchen.

“Pharaoh, we’re tired. We’ve searched for our hikaris and Joey for the last seven days with no luck. We can’t even find them using our Shadow Powers.” The pale blonde groans.

“Are you not worried for Malik?” Seto’s deep voice as from the doorway leading into the living room.

“A little but truthfully I’m more worried for whoever has him. I taught him how to fight and believe me, he paid attention.”

“He was unconscious the last time I saw him. Did you teach him to fight like that?” Yami questions as he reappears.

“Were else can we look? I’m worried about Ryou but this is ridiculous, they are no where in this town.” Bakura looks to the tri-colored hair boy behind the sofa.

“And my contacts outside of town have nothing. It’s like they disappeared.” The brunette crosses his arms over his lean chest.

“We can’t just give up. We have to find them.” Yami states.

“What happened to don’t worry, I trust they will be returned unharmed?” Marik mokes the other yami as he sits up on the sofa.

“I still believe that, its just…I miss my hikari.”

“We all miss them but we aren’t going to find them here. I don’t think there is anything we can do for now but wait.” Bakura sighs.

“Wait for what?” Seto asks.

“For them to show up. Hopefully it won’t be much longer.”

“I don’t care what you bakas do, I’m not going to just sit around waiting for the kidnappers to bring them back alive or dead.” The brunette hisses.

“Kaiba, calm down.” Yami moves closer to the slightly taller boy.

“How can I be calm at a time like this? It’s been a week. How can you still be so calm?”

“It’s just a feeling I have that…”

“Not more about the feelings.” Marik moans.

“Quiet, Tomb Keeper.”

“All of you quiet.” Bakura’s voice booms over the arguing yamis. “This isn’t a time to fight amongst ourselves.” Dark brown eyes glance around at the amazed looks on the others faces. “What?”

“You made some sense.” Yami raises an eyebrow.

“Are you okay?” Marik smirks at the white haired yami.

“Shut up.”

“No fighting, Bakura is…right.” Seto sighs with a shudder. “We shouldn’t be fighting with each other.”

“What are we suppose to do then?” The pale blonde asks.

“I don’t know. We’ve done everything I can think to do.” Yami sighs, his hands grabbing onto the back of the sofa, knuckles turning white.

“It’s getting late, I need to go check on Mokuba.” Seto turns toward the door.

“Meet back here in the morning?” The tall tri-colored haired boy asks.

“Yeah.” The brunette calls over his shoulder as he disappears out the front door.

“You’re staying here again?” Bakura growls at Yami.

“Yeah, do you have a problem with that?”

“Why can’t you sleep at your own house?”

“I’d rather be here so that we can all be together if we hear anything.”

“I think the Pharaoh is afraid to stay at home alone.” Marik smirks.

“Marik.” Yami hisses.

“When is the old man coming back?” Bakura asks.

“Probably at the end of summer for a couple weeks then he’ll go back to Egypt.”

“For how long?”

“A year I think.”

“When’s Ryou’s pop coming home?” Marik leans back on the sofa, his dark violet eyes looking at the white haired yami.

“I don’t know, not for a while. His dig is supposed to last a couple years and he has only been there about three months.”

“I’m tired.” Marik stands up. “You two talk, I’m going to bed.”

“I ain’t talking to him unless I have to.” Bakura stands up, crossing the living room after Marik.

“No use in staying up, I guess.” Yami sighs as he follows the other two yamis up the stairs to their rooms.

-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-

Yami rolls over in bed, the light blue sheets tangling around his long bare legs as he tosses back and forth. One of his hands clenches his pillow tightly as the other one pulls slightly at his spiky locks, a silent groan escapes his parted lips. Suddenly the tall yami sits up straight in bed, his dark purple eyes snapping open to look at the flower covered wall in front of him.

“Yugi.” Yami breaths slowly, his eyes traveling to the door of the guest room as he hears a light knock.

The tall boy quickly gets out of bed, his bare chest glistening in moonlight entering from the window. His hands slide over the black silk of his boxers before he grabs the door knob and jerks it open, his eyes narrowing slightly in the darkness of the hallway.

“Marik? Bakura?” His voice is low, barely above a whisper as he moves out of the room and down the hall.

He pauses for a moment at the top of the stairs, his breathes slowed as he moves down step by step, his eyes always moving around, peering into the darkness around him. His bare feet hit the bottom of the stairs without any sound, stopping for a moment he listens closely to the quiet that seems to be exploding all around him.

Slowly he makes his way over to the door, his head turning to quickly look back up the stairs before he gradually unlocks and opens the front door. His dark purple eyes look out over the darkened lawn to the empty sidewalk and sheet beyond before catching a glimpse of white below him, quickly looking down his narrowed eyes widen, his hand turning white on the cool door knob.

“Bakura, Marik.” Yami’s voice barely reaches his own ears before he shakes his head and yells louder. “Bakura! Marik!”

Yami looks down at the small porch where four bodies lay curled around each other, their slim forms covered in the same white cotton gown that hangs loosely on them down to their knees. Malik lays closest to the door on his side facing the tall yami’s feet, Ryou’s white haired head rest on the pale blonde’s hip, one of his arms thrown over the small waist of the Yugi as the tri-colored haired boy lays in front of him. Yugi’s spiky head of hair is flattened slightly in the small of Malik’s back, his short legs thrown over Joey’s longer ones as the sandy blonde lays the furthest away on his back.

“Bakura! Marik!”

The tall yami quickly moves out the door careful not to step on any of the unconscious boys on the ground, he bends down next to his lover, his shaky hands reaching out to ghost down the small pale body of Yugi.

“What is all the yelling about, Pharaoh?” Marik groans as he comes down stairs in a pair of loose fitting gray pajama bottoms, his hands rubbing down his tired looking face.

“Their back.”

“Whose back?” Bakura yawns as he comes down behind the pale blonde yami, a pair of blood red silk boxers cling to his slightly muscled thighs.

“Our hikaris and Joey.” Yami’s hands find their way under Yugi’s arms, he pulls his hikari to him gently until the smaller boy’s head rest on his shoulder, his short legs wrapping around his waist unconsciously, Yami’s arms curl around Yugi’s small waist.

“Malik!” Marik bends down in the doorway, his tanned hands reaching out to run through Malik’s pale blonde hair. “What are they wearing?”

“I don’t know. Come on lets get them inside before they get sick.” Yami moves toward the door with Yugi. “Marik, either get Malik or move. You’re blocking the door.”

“Huh? Oh, yeah.” Marik shakes his head slightly as his arms slip under Malik’s knees and neck, he stands up effortlessly and starts back up the stairs. “Where we taking them?”

“To the rooms we were at.” Yami follows close behind him.

“Hey! You two forgetting something?” Bakura’s voice calls up the stairs after the other two yamis.

“What?” Yami stops to look down at the white haired yami with his smaller hikari draped in his arms.

“There is another one out here.”

“Joey!” The tri-colored haired sighs. “I…I’ll come back and get him after I put Yugi in bed.”

“Whatever just move so I can get Ryou in bed, he is freezing.”

Bakura passes Yami on the stairs and heads to his and Ryou’s room at the end of the hall, his dark brown eyes barely glimpse into the first door on the right as Marik disappears into it. Yami quickly follows the white haired yami down the hall, moving into the room on the left at the end of the corridor he walks to the bed and gently lays his light lover on the bed before covering him with the sheets and comforter.

The tall tri-colored haired yami reluctantly leaves the bedside to jog back out into the hall, he stops at the opened door across the hall to find Bakura running a gently hand down Ryou’s pale cheek.

“Bakura, call Kaiba tell him to get over here and see if he knows a doctor that is willingly to make a house call at this time of night.”

“Alright.” Bakura sighs as he moves to the bedside table near Ryou’s side of the bed.

Yami turns and continues his jog down the hall and stairs to the front door, his bare feet hit the cool porch as he bends down and places his arms under Joey’s knees and neck, standing back up he wobbles back slightly, his back hitting the frame of the door as he hisses in pain. He staggers back into the house and over to the railing of the stairs before stopping and leaning against it.

“Marik, get down here now.”

“What is it now?”

“Help me.” Yami groans.

“What?” Marik’s pale blonde head pops out of the door near the top of the stairs.

“Help me!” The tri-colored haired yami hisses.

“Having problems?” Marik smirks as he slowly makes his way down the stairs.

“He may look thin but he sure doesn’t feel like it.”

“Give him here, Pharaoh.” Rolling his dark violet eyes, Marik easily takes the sandy blonde from the other Yami’s arms and moves back up the stairs. “Where is he going?”

“Put him next to Yugi.” Yami turns back around to shut the door, his dark purple eyes looking around before quickly moving back up stairs to be with his hikari.

-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-

Marik gently lifts the heavy, white cotton gown up Malik’s still body, moving the thin tanned arms through the holes of the fabric. The smaller boy’s pale blonde hair sticks up on the pillow as the gown is pulled over his head and tossed to the floor next to the white covered bed. Marik’s large hands run over the slim form of his lover, his dark violet eyes scanning over Malik’s flesh for any signs of harm.

Sighing loudly the tall pale blonde yami stands up and moves to the closet door, opening it up and disappearing into the dark of it only to reappear a moment later and move back over to the bed. A strong hand glides over Malik’s cool cheek before he Marik shakes his head slightly and lifts the smaller boy’s limp form into a sitting position, a light purple short sleeved shirt slipping over his head.

Marik maneuvers his hikari’s arms into the sleeves of the shirt, gently laying the pale blonde down Marik pulls the shirt under him to rest just above his tanned knees. The tall yami slowly pulls the white sheets and comforter up Malik’s body, stopping them just below his shoulders, his large hand rest on the smaller boy’s chest for a moment as he feels it raise and fall slowly. A loud banging echoes up the stairs and off the walls of the hallway.

“Door!” He yells, his dark violet eyes remaining on his lover.

“Someone get the door!” Bakura’s voice mixes with the pale blonde’s.

“It’s your house, Bakura!” Yami calls from the end of the hall.

“I’m busy!”

“So am I!”

“Someone get the damn door!” Marik shouts.

The banging continues for several minutes, only seeming to get louder before Marik sighs and gets up, storming over to the open door of the room he sticks his head out.

“Bakura, get your door!”

“I’m busying getting Ryou comfortable.” Bakura’s white head pops out of the door at the end of the hall on the right.

“That’s what I’m doing with Malik.”

“Well, I have two of them to take care of so one of you get your butt downstairs and open the door.” Yami yells from his guest room.

“Fine! I’ll go.” Marik growls as he jogs down the stairs, taking them two at a time before he reaches the door and yanks it open. “What?”

“What took you so long?” Seto growls as he pushes his way inside. “Where’s Joey?”

“Upstairs, last door on the left. Who’s this?” Marik points to tall white haired man following Seto into the house.

“My personal doctor.” Seto calls over his shoulder as he rushes up the stairs and down the hall, only stopping when he reaches the door Marik said Joey was in.

Yami sits on the light blue sheets next to his own small lover, his hands clasps lightly around Yugi’s smaller ones while his dark purple eyes look down at his lover’s face. Seto quickly makes his way to the other side of the bed where Joey lays under the covers, his slightly tanned hands rest on his white cotton covered chest.

“Has he woken up?” Seto asks as he sits next to the sandy blonde, one of his hands running down the length of Joey’s arm.

“No. None of them have. Who’s that?” Yami motions to the door where the white haired man stands.

“Dr. Morland, he is my personal doctor.”

“You trust him?”

“I trust him with Mokuba.” Seto glances over at the tall yami who nods slowly.

“How long have they been here?”

“Just before Bakura called you. I found them on the front porch dressed in these.” Yami fingers the sleeve of Yugi’s gown.

“Morland, check them over for everything you can at this point. I want a full workup, blood tests and all. Got it?”

“Yes, Mr. Kaiba. My assistant is on her way over with my equipment. But in order to do my work I need you all to leave. I can’t concentrate with you all hovering over me.” The deep voice of the doctor moves toward the end of the bed.

“I’m not leaving Yugi’s side.” Yami growls.

“We have to. He is right. He can’t work with us being overprotective. That goes for the others, we can all go downstairs.” Seto stands up slowly, his hand moving up to brush a lock of sandy blonde hair out of Joey’s closed eyes, his fingers glide over a small bandage above the eye.

“Don’t worry. I’ll take good care of them.” Dr. Morland tries to reassure Yami.

“The others are in the rooms across the hall. Should we put them in one room?” Yami stands up beside the bed, his dark purple eyes staying on his lover’s still form.

“That would be easier for me to examine them.”

“I’ll go tell the others.” Yami slowly leaves the room, his eyes lingering on his hikari.

“Take care of him. All of them.” Seto whispers to the doctor as he passing behind him to the door.

“I will, sir.” The older man nods as he moves to Joey’s side of the bed.

-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-

“I want to go back up there.”

“Marik, it has only been fifteen minutes since I pried you off of Malik.” Yami sighs.

“Like you don’t want to get back to Yugi’s side.” The pale blonde growls.

“Both of you shut up.” Seto hisses.

“What do you think happened to them?” The tri-colored hair yami asks.

“I don’t know but Ryou best not be hurt.” Bakura crosses his arms over his chest as he leans on the back of the sofa.

“What were they wearing? It looked like hospital gowns.” Marik sits in the large white chair closest to the entrance of the living room.

“I didn’t see any visible marks on Ryou. Did anyone else?”

“No.” The pale blonde shakes his head.

“No.” Yami answers.

“Just a bandage on Joey’s head but that probably came from the accident.” Seto says.

“At least they took care of him.” Yami tries to reassure the brunette.

“I still want them dead.” Seto leans back on the frame between the living room and the entrance way, his head turning to the door as a knock comes.

“Who the hell is that?” Bakura growls.

“Probably the doctor’s assistant.” The tall brunette moves toward the front door, opening it as Yami follows him.

A short girl stands on the porch wearing a pair of tight black jeans and loose white tank top, a black choker graces her neck while thick black leather bands cover each of her wrist. Next to her black combat boots rest several bags of different shapes and sizes, her bright blue eyes stare back and forth from one boy to the other before she lets out a sigh, her hands moving from her hips to motion to the bags at her feet.

“You gonna help or just stare all day?”

“You’re Dr. Morland’s assistant?” Seto asks with a raised eyebrow.

“Yep, what did you expect a tight ass old man? The names Jade. Now help.” She bends down and picks up two of the bags before shoving her way in between the two boys. “Where am I going?”

“Uh, upstairs. He should be in one of the end bedrooms.” Yami says, his dark purple eyes watching the girl closely.

“Thanks.” Jade starts up the stairs, her dark forest green hair swaying back and forth in a braid that reaches the backs of her knees, she stops at the top of the stairs and turns to look down at the two boys. “You gonna bring up the other bags or what?”

“Yeah, we’re coming.” Yami shakes his head slightly and moves out the door to pick up two heavy black bags. “What are in these things?” He whispers to the brunette next to him picking up the last bags.

“He does everything a hospital can do only in the privacy of your own home so he has a lot of equipment, expensive equipment so be careful.” The brunette walks up the stairs with Yami following slowly. “What’s wrong, Yami? Can’t carry a couple simple bags?”

“He couldn’t even carry Joey upstairs.” Marik chuckles from his new position next to Bakura in the doorway of the living room.

“He is heavier than he looks.” Seto says under his breath.

“Need help, Pharaoh?” Bakura smirks as he watches the other yami struggle up the stairs with his heavy load.

“I don’t need your help.”

“Really? It looks like you do.” The pale blonde chuckles louder.

“If you want to help me so bad then follow me with the bag.” Yami carefully drops one of the bags on the steps before continuing up after Seto.

“Go help him.” Marik pushes the white haired yami toward the stairs.

“Okay.” Bakura shrugs as he picks up the bag.

“What? You want to help the Pharaoh now?”

“No, I want to see my hikari.” Bakura smirks at the open mouthed yami as he jogs up the stairs.

“Wait! That looks heavy, maybe I should help you with it.” Marik calls as he follows the white haired boy quickly up the stairs.
