WAIT FOR YOU FOREVER
CHAPTER 10
Mokuba tries to be small and insignificant as he taps the security code into the pad at the side gate, and because it is easy to seem small and insignificant next to the Kaiba mansion, he doesn't need to try too hard. He imagines that he will go to the security screens and check if Seto is at home. If not, he will call his secretary at work (not his mobile, the less Mokuba has to speak the better) and say that he's home, alright, safe, whatever. If Seto is at home... -Well I'll just have to fucking deal with it-. He sighs. The gate opens, and he walks through the massive garden.
At least, he takes two and a half steps before he is surrounded by giants in black suits, has his arms pinned behind him, a massive hand slapped over his mouth and the cold of a revolver pressed to the back of his head. Kidnap. -Shit. Shit! How stupid can I get? And everyone thinks I'm missing already, and they must have planned this quickly, and who the hell gave them the security code, and fuck they're huge, and there's seven, and one of me, and fuck, fuck, FUCK, I'm done for, holy shit, I have to get out of here-, runs through his head in the blink of an eye, and he's struggling and squirming and -not screaming or they'll use the guns-, and kicking out at them, and they're shouting questions and angry and -why are they shouting-? He takes a breath. Either nobody's home or
"No! Mr Sakai! Stop!" He hears small feet tearing down the path, and he wonders what Motou Yugi has to do with all this. "Mr. Sakai, that's him, that's him, let go!" squeaks Yugi, finally reaching them, short of breath. The black giants look suspiciously from Mr Motou to this... person. They keep Mokuba firmly restrained. Yugi stamps his foot. "Let. Him. Go, Mr Sakai," he demands again, and raises his own gun at the giants. -He's got a gun! Motou Yugi has a gun, and he's going to use it to rescue me!- "I'll call Mr Kaiba right away, and tell him that his brother has returned -unharmed-," he glares up at the ogre who is holding Mokuba a foot above the ground. Then he shifts his gaze to Mokuba and smiles - happier than Mokuba has seen him for a long time. "Hi, Mokuba! We were worried!" he says, then waves the mobile phone (-not a gun-), "I'll just call Seto."
Mokuba has been hallucinating.
Seto says he'll be there in ten minutes - twelve maximum - and they all go inside to wait. Yugi makes the giants sit on one side of the kitchen bench, while he and Mokuba sit on the other. He makes tea. Everyone drinks except Mokuba, whose head is imploding, and whose heart is so tight from caffeine that he thinks it might snap. They are all very quiet.
When Seto arrives, he brings five more giants and - bizarrely - Jonouchi Katsuya. Jou grins with relief when he sees Mokuba and Yugi. He ruffles Mokuba's hair (what's left), then wraps his arms around Yugi, who returns the hug, and they stay that way for a long time. Seto stares briefly at Mokuba then spends several minutes writing out corporate cheques to pay off the extra security.
Jou and Yugi leave, with a few quiet words to Mokuba, who doesn't hear them - or if he does, he immediately forgets. The head giant, Mr Sakai, tells Seto that he's glad to be of service, and leans across the bench, warning Mokuba to be more careful in the future.
Mokuba can see himself reflected in the dark lens of Mr Sakai's glasses. He looks small. Insignificant.
NOTE/S: So, a very plot-ish chapter. Not -nearly- enough slash-o-rama in that one. Thanks for those who have checked out Seto's side in "Some Things"... I'll count your reviews there as reviews here, and shall post this chapter without further ado!
