The Sweetest Taboo

I apologize for the long wait... I've been having so much fun with MG that I nearly forgot about this story! *blushes sheepishly* Well here it is, Chapter 10. It' from Joey's POV, and we get some explanations in the beginning of teh chapter! I hope you guys like this!!!


School is so boring.

I sat there, listening to the teacher drone on and on about organic
chemistry, stuff that wouldn't help me in the real world. I ignored
that, and looked outside. It was such a beautfiul day.

Ever since Yugi and I caught Seto and Yami together, we've been
spending more and more time together to teach the two of them a
lesson. It's working like a charm, too. Seto keeps giving me
glances when he thinks I ain't lookin'. Yeah, I see you Seto Kaiba.
You want this back, bad. Well, tough shit. I'm gonna make you work
for it.

My mind flashed back to when Yugi told me of his third crush... and
of a surprising revelation he'd had as well...

*FLASHBACK*

"You mean the Dark Magician is a real person?!" I said incredously to
Yugi.

"Yes, he is," he replied. "He's real only in my Soul Room though.
Do you want to know why I like him so much?"

"Sure," I replied nonchalantly. My curiosity was flaring at a
thousand thoughts a minute, trying to figure out why Yuug would have
a crush on a damn Duel Monster.

"Well, if you look at the card closely, he looks a lot like Seto.
I"ve always thought Seto was hot as well, which is why I am so upset
he and Yami cheated on us."

I thought about it for a moment, then I agreed. The Dark Magician
DOES resemble Seto, with the serious face and cold blue eyes. I knew
it was time for me to get my confession out as well.

"Ya know, Yuug, I've also thought Yami was good-looking. Don't get
me wrong, you guys do look alike, and you know I love you. Yami's
features are sharper and more serious. I guess that stems from me
loving Seto Kaiba. I like the serious look."

"I wish they hadn't acted before I could tell them how I felt," Yugi
said with a wistful sigh. "Then we could have all gotten together."

"You'd like that, wouldn't you, Yuug?"

"It would be nice to have two more strong, handsome men protect me.
I love you, Joey and Yami as well. I don't know Seto well, but I am
sure I could come to love him, too. He's not as cold as he pretends
to be."

"You're right," I said with a laugh. "Seto's not cold at all, trust
me. Dragons are mythical, beautful creatures, and he's no exception."

We shared a laugh, then gave each other a quick kiss. Standing we
both got ready to leave, both thinking how we were gonna start our
little plan. Operation Payback was under way, as of right that
minute.

*END FLASHBACK*

The bell's ring startled me out of my thoughts. Looking up, I saw
Yugi talking to Tea about somethin' or other, then I looked around
the classroom. Blue eyes met my own amber ones as Seto stared at me
with an almost longing expression on his face.

I turned my head away, then rose from my desk. Yugi ran over to me
me, smiling his thousand-watt smile.

"Hey Joey, wanna go grab a burger at Burger World? It's lunchtime,
and I'm starved!"

"Sure thing, Yuug. Let me go and put my books in my locker, then we
can head on over."

With that said, we headed on out into the hallway. I could feel
Kaiba's eyes boring holes into my back as I stopped at my locker.

A shadow passed over me. Looking up, I saw Kaiba staring at me as if
he wanted to say something, but didn't have the nerve. I frowned,
then asked rudely, "Do you want somethin'? Cause if ya don't, you're
blocking my light."

"Sorry," Seto whispered. With that, he turned and walked down the
row of lockers to his own locker.

I saw Yugi racing over to me, his little pum pumping as fast as they
could, as Yugi's locker is down the hall. Suddenly, he tripped and
almost fell--

and was caught, by Seto Kaiba himself.

I felt a wild rage burn into my chest. "GET YOUR HANDS OFF HIM!" I
yelled at the top of my lungs. The hallway got deadly quiet with my
outburst.

Seto let Yugi go, then stalked up to me.

"I only caught him so he wouldn't fall and hurt himself," he hissed
out. His blue flashed angrily as he looked at me. "God forbid I
touch your preciougi ugi in any way." My, my.. does he sound...
jealous? An evil grin crossed my face, then I decided to have a
little fun with this situation.

"Yeah, you got that right," I sneered. "You're just full of
helpfulness, aren't you, Kaiba? Are you gonna help Yugi out the way
you helped out Yami?"

Seto's face went pale, then darkened with anger. Growling low in his
throat, he looked like he wanted to kick my ass from here to
Timbuktu, but thought the better of it. In a huff, he went around
me, bumping my shoulder as he walked by, his trench coat billowing
out behind him.

"Asshole," I whispered under my breath. Gods, he's so beautfiul
when he's angry. Sometimes I make him mad on purpose, just to see
the flash of those dark blue eyes. The way he clenches his jaw and
fist....

I was startled out of my sexual thoughts by Yugi. He was looking up
at me with an almost resigned expression on his face.

"That was uncalled for,y,"y," he said quietly.

"What?" I said increduously. "I was defending your honor!"

"No, you weren't," Yugi said. "You were deliberately trying to
provoke a fight with Seto. The whole point of the plan was to make
them JEALOUS, not start fights. If you'd fought him, then this whole
plan would be for naught. The damage would have been irrepairable."

"You're right, Yugi," I said softly. Me and my hot-ass temper... I
really need to stop that.

"Well, it's okay," Yugi said good-naturedly. "Come on, let's go get
some grub!"

I leaned down and gave Yug a quick hug, then agreed. Laughing, we
raced outside. My thoughts traveled back to what had just happened,
with extra added bonuses.

Doesn't Yugi know I miss Seto as well? His long, lean body pressed
against mine. His intense expressions as we make love. The way he
looks at me, as though he can see my soul. His rich, booming
laughter whenever he's happy. His tender expressions when he smiles
at me or Mokuba.

I still love you, Seto Kaiba.

I only do things to piss you off beacuse I like the way your
shoulders square, as if going into battle. You're an amazing man--the
word "boy" doesn't do you justice.

You put up with all my crap. You helped me out many a time when I
needed you. When my dad was still being an ass, you were there.
When Serenity was recuperating in the hospital after her eye surgery,
you were there.

I feel as if I don't deserve you. Yeah I am kinda with Yugi, and no,
I didn't tell you how we used to be. He's a good guy and a great
friend, but nothing compares to you. My dragon master.

My everything.

I still love you, Seto Kaiba. I want you back.

I've already forgiven you for cheating with Yami. Hell, I want him
too. I'll discuss all this with Yuug over lunch. I'm tired of
making you suffer. It feels like I'm punishing myself more than you.

I'm gonna get you back, Seto.

Oh, how it seems as though you don't know what you've got til it's
gone.

Whoa, did you like that? I did!! I didn't want Joey and Seto to
fight. Yugi had the right idea. If they'd fought it would have
ruined everything. Yugi may look small, but he's quite the little
man himself. A very mature individual, and just the right curb for
hotheaded Joey.

I found out recently, from my wonderful friends at mO_slO_slash Yahoo group, that Seto Kaiba's name means "seahorse." In Japanese culture, a seahorse was considered the lost child of a dragon. NOW I understand why he loves the BEWD so much. Interesting, isn't it?

The DM will NOT be in the foursome. Yugi was just using him as a curb for his little crush on Seto. Since he respected Joey's relationship, and didn't want to interfere, he passed some of his lust onto the DM, who is as clueless as a summer day. He doesn't know Yugi is crushing on him, he just knows Yugi had two more crushes. Simple as that.

Next chappie. Yug gets some advice from Kage, and speaks to Seto Kaiba himself! Can you say, fireworks!1 Oh yeah, baby!
