The Failed Attempt
The Nightmare!
Things are really heating up. Anzu's making us hate her even more, Dream Clown's
up to his own little scheme, and the couples are on the fritz. So what's going to
happen next? Stay tuned and see. Thanks for all who are reading and especially
to those who review, I love reading them! Now it's time for Chapter 10. We're
headed back to the Shadow Realm.
Chapter 10: The Failed Attempt *Reader's POV*
"Anzu!" Dream Clown yells at her.
"Who do I do? I like Yugi cause he's a good friend and I like Yami because he's
so strong and sexy." Anzu replies to Dream Clown.
"I say go for the Pharoah. Don't you want to go back to the living world?"
"I do, but I hate to hurt the both of them."
"Yes, but look at them. Does Yugi really want to be with Yami? Have you ever
noticed how Yugi has looked at you when you come around? He really wants you
Anzu."
"He...really...wants...me...Anzu. I must destroy the Pharoah."
"That's a good girl Anzu."
"Dream Clown, I'm ready for Spirit Capture."
"Go for it!"
Yugi has returned back to normal and is sleeping peacefully on Yami. Yami
sits up, and pushes Yugi off him. He takes hold of Yugi's Sen'nin Puzzle.
Yugi feels someone tampering with the Puzzle and wakes up.
"Ummm Yami?" Yugi says adjusting his eyes.
Yami doesn't say anything, instead he continues to fight to get the puzzle.
"Yami? What's wrong?!" Yugi yells at Yami.
"Dream Clown! We're having some turbulence!" Anzu says to Dream Clown.
"Try harder! It is important that we get the Pharoah captured!"
"Yami!? Wake up! Snap out of it!" Yugi says, trying to fight off a possessed
Yami.
Yami pulls harder on the puzzle, almost choking Yugi. Yugi slaps Yami. He
slacks up and drops the puzzle, then falls back to sleep. Yugi is breathing
very deeply, surpised at the events that just happened.
"Yami? Yami?" Yugi says trying to wake Yami up.
After a couple minutes of shaking and yelling, Yami wakes up and sees Yugi
shaking.
"Aibou?! What's wrong?! Did you have a bad dream?!"
Yugi backs away from Yami a little, afraid that he would try to choke him
again.
"Are you ok now Yami?" Yugi says nervously.
"Yea, I'm fine. What's wrong? What happened?" Yami asks confused at
Yugi's actions.
"You tried to choke me. You were trying to take the puzzle from me. I almost
passed out."
Yami's eyes widen and he embraces his light.
"No...no, no, I'm sorry. I don't remember doing it, but I'm sorry. I never
want to do anything to hurt you aibou."
Yugi embraces Yami loosely and cries into his chest.
"I was so scared Yami. Are you sure you're ok now?"
"Yes. I am." He says kissing Yugi on the forehead.
"What?! How did he overcome that spell. It should work on him too Anzu!"
"I don't know what went wrong."
"Ok, ok. We can just wait until they fall asleep again. This time, DO NOT
fail!"
"I won't!"
'Heh, I see that the Pharoah is not going down so easily.'
"You shut up robber!" says Dream Clown.
Marik finally awakens to see that he's inside the Rod.
''Where am I?'' He asks, hoping someone would hear him.
'You're trapped inside the Sen'nin Rod.' Bakura replies.
''Hey tomb robber! There's no way I can be trapped here! Where's
Malik?!''
'He's sleeping probably, his memories of you erased.'
''What are you talking about?''
"He's right. You should listen to your partner in crime Marik." Dream
Clown says to him. "Without your hikari, you're nothing more than a
drifting spirit within the Rod."
''When I get out of here...''
"Nah, you might as well get comfortable. They'll be no escaping for you.
And don't think about using those ancient powers of yours, they have been
supressed."
''What! How can this be?!''
"It is. Just stay right there until you're destroyed." Dream Clown says
laughing.
Once again, Yami sits straight up in bed, knocking Yugi away from him. Yugi
wakes up to see Yami once again in that crazed state.
"Give me the puzzle!" Yami shouts.
"No! Wake up Yami!" Yugi pleads, as he pushes further from Yami.
"Obey the Pharoah! You are my servant Obey meami ami says lunging towards
Yugi.
"Yami! You must come to your senses! Wake up!" Yugi says jumping out the
bed, and falling on his ass.
Yami jumps out the bed and on top of Yugi.
"Give me the puzzle! I need the puzzle! Now!"
"I'm going to regret this later Yami but...UGH!" Yugi lifted one of his knees
and kicked Yami.
He screamed and fell off of Yugi. He comes back to reality, in exteme pain from
the unpleasant kick.
"Yu...gi...why...?" Yami said as he curled into a ball and breathed deeply.
"You tried to take the puzzle again, it's like someone's taken control of your
mind."
"I don't remember it."
"They get you when you sleep. So tonight I suggest that you not sleep tonight."
"I think that's a good idea. Then in the morning we can call the others to help
us figure this out."
Yugi nods in agreement.
"I'm ok now, I promise. I will be able to stay up for the rest of the night and
sleep in the puzzle when you get up. Come on aibou." Yami says with opened
arms. "You can go to sleep here."
Yugi slowly crawls to Yami and curls into his arms once again, this time trusting
that he's ok.
"Damn! We didn't get them!" Anzu says angrily.
"Don't worry Anzu. Pharoah can't stay up forever. When he goes to sleep, then
that's when you will strike!"
